Manna tastes a lot like pizza
When the Israelites awoke each morning in the dessert God had proven His provision for them by giving them a daily supply of manna. They woke up each morning expecting to see the glory of the Lord and trusting that He would supply what they needed.

Today, I woke up and found 8 slices of manna in my refrigerator. Let me explain.

My husband went on a day fishing trip with a friend. He left very early Monday morning and was to return very late Monday night. His trip took him through a small town that is the home of my favorite pizza place. On the trip back, my sweet man, called ahead and ordered my favorite pizza. Are ya'll saying, Awwwwww yet? You should be.

When I woke up this morning, I found him on the couch because he had gotten late and did not want to disturb my sleep. (You can say awwwww, again.) I walked by the couch as I went to wake the children and he whispered, "I brought you a surprise. It is in the refrigerator." Honestly, I thought to myself, "Oh boy, a mess of trout." I did not run to see the surprise. I went on my way to wake the kids up for school. I came to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, opened the refrigerator and there it was: my manna.

Now, some may say that I may be reading too much into this act of kindness but I know how the my Lord speaks to me. He was saying this man loves you and so do I. It was a great way to start the day: expecting manna and receiving it.

I went to bed expecting something great for the day and I wasn't disappointed. Makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Do you wake up expecting something great?

How sweet! :) I have been praying each day that I would see, hear and feel Jesus in a new way. I need to take the time each day to be in His presence in order for that to happen.

I found you this morning through the P31 devotion. It's appropriate for me right now because "i" have not been very good about following I AM lately. I have these thoughts that run through my head of everything "i" need to do, but can't. i will be turning to I AM with every step taken today. Thank you for the precious reminder! Blessings & Hugs!

How sweet. My husband snooked out of my house before I woke up this morning. He knew that if I woke up I would ask him to stay for tea and breakfast.

Anyway, great devotion. I finally got a chance to read it as I was waiting for my daughter to finish her lunch dishes so I can cook dinner. Yes, so many times, we live without "I AM". How dreadful for us, but thank goodness, He doesn't forget us and does not willingly allow us to perish.

Be very appreciative of the sweet kind husbands that are still out there in the world. So many of my friends are struggling in marriages and are so defeated.

A Godly man is an awesome treasure!!!

I've never done this before. But I want to share how greatful I am for my dear husband of 37 yrs. Though we married young and the first fifteen yrs were a literal hell on earth. Christ has done such a work in him; I praise him for it. After coming home from work. He changed the oil in my car and went to put gas in it, so it will be ready for me to go to work tomorrow. He shows me he loves me in so many ways. God is so good. We need to trust him in our darkest days and wait upon Him. Thank you, Lord. May I be worthy of your faithfulness. cl/nj

Are you all Christians? Do you struggle as I do? Sometimes Ifeel I am only fooling myself into believing I am and I get afraid. I am truly not a devout Christian. I neglect to read God's Word as I should, I whine and criticize when I shouldn't, I get so frustrated w my husband and 'our' lack of togetherness and how I want things to be but they aren't. I have begun to read these devotionals in my email and am glad they are there but at times it is so hard if not seemingly impossible to implement on my own. Sometimes I just am so empty and I cannot find the spicket to be refreshed. Are you ever like this?

I'm starting the New Year off right, and your devotional today helped in that respect!

I sometimes feel so far away from God and I know it is my fault. Last night, we welcomed in the New Year at church and we had the opportunity to go forward and recommit to Jesus. I did so.

I can identify with Karen's post here. I have the same difficulty, but I really believe that I need to be the one to draw closer to God. I believe He is there waiting for me to do so.

For you, too, Karen!

I am going to be spending more time in prayer and in devotions. I am going to be giving up computer time. That is where I think I draw away and waste time that could be spent with God.

Thank you so much for this devotional today. It has made me realize that manna comes in many forms...I have been missing it and want to be able to see it when it comes.

I want to draw closer to God so He will draw closer to me, and I want to see those amazing things He is doing in my life!

Yes! It is amazing and incredible beyond words to know that God is faithful, even when we are not!

I pray for faithfulness to my loving Heavenly Father..not just this year, but forever.

Thank you so much..I enjoyed the devotional and I enjoyed reading the comments.

Happy New Year and may all have a year growiing ever closer to God!

The translation of manna is "What is it?" How cute that you opened the fridge and wondered "What is it?"

If he has an upcoming hunting trip, maybe he'll bring back quail!

I loved the devotinal I received today "Concentrating on Consecration". Thanks and Happy New Year!

Yum. Hum - might have to make some manna (pizza) for dinner. If I go look in the fridge will the ingredients be sitting there waiting for me? ...
