I am in my Jesus chair snuggling under a blanket wearing my thick 20-year old pink robe. (Yes, I said 20 years-I am not one to give up on a garment just because it has a little age on it.) My desktop Weather Channel link tells me it is 12 degrees outside. For some of you, (like Liz' our "one pin in AK") that seems like a warm front but for this cold-natured-Southern-girl, that is COLD. It is one of those days that screams, STAY AT HOME. I think I will listen to myself and do just that. I have at least 2 months worth of bills to file, floors to mop, clothes to wash, and well, the list goes on. When does a woman's work get done?
You will love the weekend's reading. I read ahead. I was blessed in getting to do one of my most favorite things in the world yesterday. I love to get to carline early, park my car in the direction of the sun, and read the Word. I get physically and spiritually warmed at the same time.

Thanks for your thoughts, Wendy. You raised some questions yesterday that I had not thought about before.
One thing that struck me was the grace that Jacob showed to his 10 sons after finding out about their involvement with Joseph's disappearance. I know that his blessing of each of them (Jan. 18 - Gen. 49 - yeah I know...I read ahead a little,too!) showed that he held them accountable for some things but he never brought up their trickery and deceit in the Joseph situation. What grace for a father to show his sons. I'm sure he was so overjoyed that Joseph was still alive that he purposefully put that sin out of his mind. Kind of like our Heavenly Father does for us...oh wait...that's exactly like our Heavenly Father! He is so overjoyed that we have chosen life and been made alive through His Son, Jesus, that He chooses to forget all the "stuff"! Thanks again for your commitment and dedication to God's Word! May He bless you richly today.
Wendy, Burr...burr...I can't even comprehend 12 degrees! I almost felt guilty taking my prayer walk this morning with my little "prayer, Jack-Russell dog," I call him my prayer-dog, because he always - eagerly comes along with me! Anyway, it was a glorious, maybe 65 degrees at the most...walk...the sun was brilliantly peaking out and adding luster to all the trees around me. I took it all in thanking God for all his glory around me!
The reading continues to be a page turner! I too, went ahead. Today, I was impressed with how God was so, I guess I could say, "Fatherly," to the aged Jacob. He dearly anticipated seeing his son, Joseph, but I do not think he really wanted to leave his home. What a trek at his age! Then, God, came to him and said,"Do not be afraid to down to Egypt...I will bring you back back again. You will die in Egypt, but Joseph will be with you to close your eyes." That just touched me so much! Our God, is he good or what?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always watching over us and taking care of our needs. Not giving us more than we can handle at one time. I'm so head-over-heels about my God Almighty!

Brrrr? Try 49 below windchill in Minnesota this past week! So cold the schools here were cancelled. The actual thermometer temp read: -24 degrees. Not fun...
2 things struck me in today's reading. Pharoah was truly delighted for Joseph and very generous towards him and his family. Joseph was such an asset to Pharoah - everything he touched turned to gold...Pharoah could afford to be generous! I also noticed his comment that "the Egyptians despise shepherds". I wonder where the hatred started?

Yes...it is cold!!!! We were -35c with the wind chill yesterday here in Ontario...brrr chilly.
It IS great reading this weekend. My post today was all about "A Deeper Starvation". More than a physical famine, I wrote of the famine of the soul.

I truly think this is the first time in my life that I read a story in the Bible, and did not want it to end. Just like with a great Karen Kingsbury book, I want there to be a sequel.
I loved this story of Joseph. I have gleaned so much from it.
