Hi All
Nothing special going on around here. Jodie-please know that I am thinking of and praying for you. Ya'll have a great weekend.
Thank you so much for all your prayers for my precious mother. She is still battling nausea but otherwise doing very well! It looks like she may get to go home by Tuesday.

I have not read the reading for today yet, I was catching up on all the post from yesterday :) but I wanted to comment to you Jodie. I struggled with post-pardom after I had Will. I talked to my doctor and I took Fish Oil every day and it helped a lot. I ended up not needing other medication, the supplements helped. It might be something you could talk to your doctor about. I struggled with everything you are going through. It is a HUGE change bringing that new baby home so don't think for a minute you are a bad mom. It is hard! The hardest work we will every do as women, being moms! {{HUGS and PRAYERS}} coming your way sister.
Off to do our reading now...
Good Morning...Ladies! I'm feeling very blessed at the moment that God is pursuing each one of us. Daily, I pray that I will 'long' to read his Word. I want to continue to crave it,year after year, after year! God has been so good to me, not only has He pursued me, but He's placed me along the journey with all of you...others' that He is also pursuing! His ways are way better than anything we could EVER dream up for ourselves! I love Him! I love all of you too! And, Jan, I loved your thoughts about all of us meeting together in heaven! Thanks Wendy! And, thank you all too! Your comments are daily chewed on, and on, and on!
Oh, as they were listing the family names...I thought, how blessed we are that our names are listed in The Book of Life. Revelation 20:15, "And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire."
After the wall was completed they joined together to hear the Word read and explained. Ezra wanted to make sure that it was, "clearly explained," and that the "people under[stood] each passage" (7:8).
Today, we have to be serious about reading all of God's Word because it is a discerner (it judges & is a critic) of our thoughts and intents of our heart (Heb. 4:12).
God will speak to us as we daily read our Bible. Also, the sin on our heart [that many times we are unaware of,] will be brought to our mind by God, as we read His Word. Especially, when I'm reading His Word, praying, or listening to Worship Songs, He will speak to me. If I was not doing this I would not be lead to feel convicted of the sin He has pointed out to me. When we are convicted, we confess, and then He cleanses us. By completing these steps we are DOING the Word, not just hearing it and reading it, but actually understanding it. From my experience, the more I do it, the more He speaks, the easier it gets to obey because, to tell you the truth, I'm afraid not to! I don't want to miss out on His closeness. Even tho, I want to do it my way, I know deep down, His way is better. Always better. He knows my tomorrows and he cares and loves me and always knows what is best for me. He has been showing me more lately, that reading the Word is ok, but, actually, the "understanding," and DOING the Word is where the blessings come. Oh, sisters, I have so much to learn! I'm so happy He's placed me with you all. Together, traveling on the journey and seeking His presence. Listening for His voice. Seeing His Glory throughout our days. Sharing our goodness and hard times...Encouraging each other, to keep pressing on! During our difficult times, we are learning to lift up our burdens to Him. As we do, He carry's them and we seek His way, not ours.
Enjoy the day! Seek His Glory all around you! ..."and you are to rejoice before the LORD your God in everything you put your hand to," Deut. 12:18).
Hugs & prayers, Lori - AZ
PS Jodie, I'm going to write another comment to you as this one is getting to long! :)
Sweet Jodie~ I'm praying for you, right along with all of the sisters!
I'm going to add your hubby & little Elliot to my prayers too! You are not a bad mom and this is coming from the devil's mouth. Place this verse in your pocket and read it every time he puts a thought in your mind, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ," ( 2 Cor. 10:5).
Lord, humbly we come to you to seek what You want in this situation. It's not about what we want, but, about what You want. Jodie so desires to nurse and feed her new miracle that you've given to her. Lord, we ask, that you allow this to happen. The enemy is attacking her. Intervene, dear Lord. Come down and hold on to Jodie. Wrap your loving arms all around her. Hold on tight to her. Help her know what to do. Place encouraging sisters around her. Guide her to the people she needs to see in order to receive help. Cause Elliot to latch on and get the nourishment he so needs. Fill Jodie with your Holy Spirit. Lord, she's clinging to You. Bend down, and touch her neck and shoulders, ever so softly. Take away the stiffness. Allow her husband to shower her with love, kindness, & goodness. Put uplifting words into his mouth, so he will know how to encourage her. Thank you dear Lord for hearing us. Thank you, dear Lord for knowing what is needed here. Lord, we lean to you for your guidance. Thank you for this precious little bundle, Elliot. You've placed him in Jodie's arms, so that she would get closer to You. Lord, draw Jodie into your presence. Lord, give her what she needs- Your Holy Spirit to guide her and shower her with wisdom and knowledge and love and peace and joy. We love you dear Jesus with all of our heart! Amen.
Hugs, Lori - AZ
PS Jodie, I have a such a fondness for babies and children! I so wish you lived next door! But, since I don't, I will keep sending prayers your way!
Sorry, but, I'm back again...I just read this:
Jodie,
"I have put the devil on alert. He may make my life very difficult but he cannot make me quit, for I am one of God's dear children." (from Beth Moore, gotta LOVE her!)

Good Morning all.
I just want to add an "Amen" to Lori's prayer for Jody.
Jody please know that we have all struggled with the feelings of not being good enough to parent our precious babies. Lori is right when she tells you that this is just the devil at work, he always hits us at our weakest point. But we know that God is strongest in our weakness.
I had the hardest time nursing my youngest, I kept thinking that I had been down this road twice before, I should have it all figured out, and I didn't think I needed any help, mostly because of my pride. I was embarassed. She was a sick baby and the stress of dealing with her illness on top of the normal post-partum stuff was just not letting me nurse. Once I let go of my pride and talked to a lactation consultant, baby and I nursed for 18 months. The stress I was experiencing was the key to the milk problem. God was so good He placed some amazing cheerleaders in my life and I learned that I don't need to be embarassed to ask for help. God made us to need others. I pray for you to find those cheerleaders in your life. Please let yourself rest, this is the best thing for both you and little Elliot. Leave the housework, leave the commitments outside of your home, its hard but this time with your new baby is really very short, even if it feels like forever, since you had a minute to yourself. God never intended us to put so much pressure on ourselves.
The verse that I highlighted this morning was the very last one in our reading.
"to celebrate with great joy because they had heard God's words and understood them."
How many times have I treated the reading of God's word as another job to get through in the day?
How wrong that is! Here I have the great privilege of reading God's word everyday - I should be celebrating with great joy!
Today I will choose to celebrate the reading of God's word and to pray for understanding of all I read.
Well, my daughters and I are off to the city for the day. We are starting to look for a grad dress for my older daughter. Our oldest is a boy he didn't even think about his graduation until the month before, what a different experience this is going to be!
Oh, and I want to tell you about my teen parent's prayer group that met last night. There were 3 of us, one was there by mistake. At least that's what she thought :)
We had a really good time of prayer and sharing. God is growing us by ones and that's OK.
Patty
Wendy, so glad your momma may be going home. My mom went through his replacement and back surgery within a few months. It's so painful to watch your mom suffer and not be able to take it away. My heart is with you in prayer and love.
Sharon

Patty~ Praying for your teen parent group, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them," (Rev. 18:20).

Dear Ladies,
It has been a hot, hectic and eventful weekend here in California, but I have managed to keep up with Nehemiah and Ezra. Four more days until we start the New Testament! I can't wait!
I have some prayer requests for you prayer warriors; my sister-in-law who is 32 is really struggling with metastatic melanoma. She was diagnosed two years ago and went into remission, but this summer it came back with a vengeance! This past week she was still suffering from the side-effects of the chemo treatment she is on, even though the course had been over and other symptoms had subsided. Specifically she is experiencing superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS), which is restricting the return of oxygen depleted blood from her head and neck area back to the heart. She is also having trouble breathing. My bother and my sister-in-law are very scared and discouraged. There is hope of new treatment starting on Tuesday, but the general prognosis is not too good. Please pray for the cardiologist, the oncologist and teh radiologist that they will be given wisdom and healing hands to distribute the Grace of God to my sister-in-law. Please also pray for peace for both my brother and his wife as they battle their fears.
Of course I am also leaving tomorrow to go back to Switzerland, so I am distressed that I will again be so far away and only able to pray. But God continues to hear our prayers even in the midst of our troubles. As Nehemiah says in his wonderful prayer; Yet whenever your people turned and cried to you again for help, you listened once more from heaven. In your wonderful mercy, you rescued them many times!
Thank you for your prayers. Jodie, we are lifting you up. You will conquer this and you will be blessed so much for your faith!
Lots of love,
Karen, Basel
