I am not trying to make political statement with this post, inciting conflict and controversy. I don't know what "side" of the isle you stand. The statement I am making in today's post is America and our freedom.
We were given in the constitution the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our founding fathers did not say we were entitled to these things. Our founding fathers said that we have the right to pursue them. Men and women have suffered and died so that I, so that you, so that our future generations could have the right, not entitlement to these things.
My heart is broken over the divided state of this great land, the place I proudly call my "temporary home." My heart is equally broken over the division the church has over the governments involvement in our right to pursue what our founding fathers offered in the constitution. Even the church is divided on whether or not life is a right or a "wrong."
I urge to pray for our country fervently in the coming days. I urge you to vote, it is our responsiblity to do so. I urge you pray before you vote. I also ask you to watch the following video. It lasts over 5 minutes. I realize your time is valuable but I promise you, it is worth your time. It captivated me!
It was for freedom that Christ has set us free. (Gal 5:1) He paid the ultimate price for the ultimate freedom, life, liberty and happiness, well complete joy in a place free from controversy, conflict, war, death, pain, tears and may I add politics. Can I get an AMEN?! Heaven is the Believer's home because of the brave-Jesus.

Wendy,
I for one will be glad when this election is over. I am so furstrated with the amount of money that is spent on something that is simply wooing people to vote one way or the other. The discussions on how much clothes cost and other useless garbage. My opinion is that we should have elections, but tell us things that will work, not empty promises. Honor those men and women putting their life on the line for our right to vote.
It is going to be history making either party that gets elected.
Get conversation started.
Blessings,
Diane
As a whole, I'm not very disciplined about praying for our leaders, or our country. However, the last couple of days, I have shed some serious tears over the matter. It has definitely been an issue that's on my heart.
Thanks for sharing.
