Jessica, I am praying with you for your needs. I really renewed my faith walk in my early thirties when I had serious financial problems. I was going through a divorce, a single mom, and had moved half-way across the country. I found a really good church that was holding a Larry Burkette study on Christian finances. Some of my life verses came from that time. The one I lean on still is Matthew 6:25-34, but most especially 31-34;
31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Another one I pray in times like these is "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24)
I cannot tell you the miracles that followed when I opened my hands (tithed, gave my first fruits even though I thought I had nothing) and prayed this prayer, and meditated on these verses. God truly provides. Lay your burden at His feet, the one who can do immeasurably more that we can imaging! You will be amazed and humbled.
Yesterday and today I was so refreshed! I did not realize how mentally tired I was from Kings and the Proverbs, so much stress, so much evil, so much strife! Now two days of constant Praise! It is like a cool spring of clear water in the desert. It gives me a new appreciation for the patience of my God! How tired He must be too!
O God, we mediate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple. As your name deserves, O God, you will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand (Jesus) is filled with victory. (Psalm 48:9-10).

Hi, everyone-
I am sending a request, a huge prayer for my daughter Kelly. She has her scans on Tuesday for her lungs to see if there are any tumors growing. She had a rare cancer osteosarcoma and was heavily metastatic at diagnosis. Through God's mercy and glory Kelly shines today 3 years later. She did have one relapse last January (2009) and refused further chemo agreeing to have surgery to remove the tumor.
So... it is by God's mercy and my confidence God will answer my prayers because I believe in Jesus.
At first we had lots of people supporting us, but as your cancer journey is continuing most have left us by.
I hope you will all join me in prayer for God to find mercy on my daughter Kelly, and make her not have any tumors or changes found. I hope God will let his Glory shine through my daughter as testimony for faith.

I have only thoughts of prayers for my daughter as we get plenty nervous before driving down into Chicago, across town and have her scans. Not nervous from the trip so much as what the results might be. This time they also have to check her heart as she has some damage show up from one of the chemos to her heart.

Heavenly Father,
There is nothing you cannot do. In you all things are possible. You have healed the sick, given sight to the blind, given hearing to the deaf, made the lame walk, and restored life to those already dead. In all this you only ask for us to believe (Mark 5:36). It is through our belief and unwavering faith that we are able to see Your work in our lives and are shown things greater than these (John 5:20, 14:12).
Lord I lift up Kelly and Susie. I know You love them and they love you. In their pain and in their angst they cry out to you to help them. Yahweh Rapha, bring healing to your daughters. Bind them up in you love; deliver them from their anxiety and let your glory shine through your amazing restorative power.

Susie - I, too, am lifting up prayers for your sweet daughter. What an amazing answer to prayer that she is "shining today, 3 years later." I pray that God will continue to heal her body and draw her close to him, that she may lean on Jesus for her strength and hope as she faces her appointment tomorrow. I also pray for you - for strength that can only come from God, to be there with Kelly as she hears her results and know that God is in charge. Here are bits from one of all of our favorites, I know: Psalm 139 - I am thinking of Kelly's name as I read this this morning:

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share with you all this morning that God has been doing some things in my life this past week that are very exciting. I have been asked to lead our women's Bible study on Thursday mornings at my church. I found out the night before it started. In my natural self I would be freaking out, but I trust God and I know He has placed this in my lap. I am very excited, this is the first time I have been leading a Bible study at my church, but have wanted to for a very long time. I know God had to grow me spiritually to get me ready and also to work in my husband's life to get him to the place he is supportive of me doing this, which he is totally on board with it when our Life Group Pastor came over and talked to us on Wed night about me taking this on. The lady that was suppose to lead it had to leave town for a few weeks and he needed someone to take over the class.
I share all that with you to let you know that as I take on more responsibility in my home church I am going to have to let some other things go. As I have prayed I feel like for this season, while I lead this, I am going to have to not spend so much time on the computer to be able to be prepared for class each week. So I won't be commenting on our reading for a while. I am still going to be reading along, watching the videos and everything, just not reading all the posts and comments.
For those of you that are fasting and praying for our unsaved loved ones, I will still be posting on my blog. This month and into the first of August we will still be doing that on Mondays. Starting the week of August 9th it will be moved back to Wednesdays as school gets started back here and I can devote more time to prayer. Mondays are my super busy cleaning house day and I don't want to do that on the same day :) Weds I can devote more time to our prayer list.

Some wordnerding -- Wrath is defined as a strong, stern or fierce anger, and it is also vengeance or punishment as a consequence of anger. It scares the heck out of me to think that my disobedience now could bring God’s punishment to my descendents. Let me be fully obedient to you, Lord.
Revive is defined as to return to life, consciousness, vigor, strength or a flourishing condition. (It’s antonym is to kill! ) Lord, thank You for reviving my walk with you, thereby blessing me with a new life, a consciousness of You at every moment, vigor, strength and a flourishing spiritual life.

Time goes so fast raising our children, then one day poof they are off on their own. And, you miss all the commotion you once had.
This scan is particularly worrisome for me as my supportive older children are out of the country, back in school and cannot be reached. I am so glad to have found this group.
I was God directed into Wendy's blog as I had been praying for a online Bible study. I not only received online Bible study but a group of wonderful women who are so understanding and supportive.

Brandy, bless you! For doing what the Lord requires, and giving up what you need to - so you can obey your Father, who knows the best thing for you. There are so many good things that we want to do, but we must always be listening for the BEST thing that God wants for us.
One of those BEST things is to be in His word. This morning is so full of wonderful prayers for us to remember that I can not meditate on all of them. The word picture in Hebrew for meditate is :Chewing the cud" bringing up the food like a cow does and chewing on it again and again. Getting all the juice out of it you can.
If I ever get to a place where I feel like I don't know how to pray, I will pick up this paper back Bible we are using for this study, and will find where I have written "pray" or "prayer for...." I have had such freedom in writing in this Bible, that it may be my favorite Bible to read and reread.
Susie and Kelly, I will be praying for you to have peace while traveling, knowing that there are no surprised with God. Give it to HIM. Pray for your doctors - that they will know how to read, treat you, and then to understand that it came from our loving Father. I always think it is good for us to tell the doctors that we have been praying for them, and what we ask. It is very humbling to them, well, to most of them.
Wendy, this is just the best of the best study. I think so often that I would never have guessed that my favorite study was electronic. Thank you Lord for using electricity to further your WORD. Isn't God good all the time, and all the time God is good.

Wendy, I wanted to tell you that the only way I know of to keep the play room clean is to quit using it. So enjoy the chaos. Our children are under our feet for such a short time, be glad that there is always washing to do, cooking, and cleaning up after everyone. We women are so "lucky" to have so many different lives.

It is different living with our son again— a honeymoon right now I think. Your search for the Lord shows the openness of your heart—you don’t have to follow any particular method or rule for prayer: just follow your heart and keep seeking. God loves you every moment-- you are His cherished daughter.
Mary in SW Ohio, praying for your family… it is a heavy cross for your son to bear, to be different from what people expect and to feel rejected by God. So many of God’s children are marginalized in this world for many reasons. God created this young man, knitted him in your womb, and He has a plan for Christopher, as well as all His children. It is a heavy cross for parents as well. Mothers can only love and pray for their children, and then allow God to do His work. Your sons and husband will see God’s work in you, because it is obvious how you are putting your faith in Him.
Dearest Suzie, you and your family are so close in my heart as you approach the 6th, testing day again for Kelly. All the family dynamics that weigh in your spirit are known to God and are in His hands as He tenderly cares for your needs. His plan for each of our families is hidden from us, but we can trust that it is His best plan. From today-- Ps. 84:11 "The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right." My mom (lives in another state) had a slight stroke—TIA-- this past week or so. She’s had many tests and is OK, is functioning at home with only a little residual effect. But at 87 with COPD, she is also very fragile and depressed, and now she is feeling fear about her future. Will you please remember my mom, Jeanne, mother of 13, a gentle and humble woman of faith, in your prayers? Thanks.
My nugget today was at the end—Ps 87:5-6 ' “Regarding Jerusalem, it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city. When the Lord registers the nations, he will say, “They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.” '
We are all citizens, and have the rights of citizenship with our Living God!

Susie, I kust popped in to let you know I was listening to the radio and the I heard the verse about the sick being anointed with oil. When I heard that I thought of Kelly and you. James 5:14 "are any of you sick? You should call the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. !5 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick and the Lord will make you well. And if you have comitted any sins you will be forgiven."

A Power that heals….
James 5:16, Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.
Healing happens in many ways and forms. Who has not experienced the inner healing that comes from acknowledging weakness and restoring a broken relationship? Who has not lifted up in prayer a friend or loved one in need of physical, emotional. Or spiritual healing? The Letter of James reminds us of the power of fervent prayer. It’s the power that can heal both the one who is afflicted and the one who intercedes.

Karen, thank you so much for those verses especially Mark 9:24. I will be claiming that every day.
As I was reading today, I kept inserting my name into the verse. My nugget actually came from the July issues of the P31 magazine today. I read it over my lunch break. There was an article about the two words "but God". There was a fill in the blank which I copied, filled in and am now carrying around with me. It reads:
"I am in debt" BUT GOD
"I don't see how I can pay my bills" BUT GOD
"I don't have rent" BUT GOD
"I am scared that I will fail" BUT GOD
BUT GOD
Suzie, Kelly would still have have cancer BUT GOD. I pray that she remains cancer free and that her tests come back clean tomorrow. I just received news that a very good friend found out that she is now cancer free. BUT GOD
Brandee--you would be sitting at home instead of leading a bible study BUT GOD. God chose you for this calling and I will be in prayer that he guides your words to say just what he would have you say.
Michelle--thank you so much for the link. I have added it to my favorites. I will be praying for Chuck and the teacher he is substituting for. Chuck would not have this opportunity to interview BUT GOD
Jacque--I am in prayer for your mom, BUT GOD. Michael is at home now and could be somewhere else BUT GOD. I continue to pray for him as well.

Sisters, thank you all for your support and encouragement! It is very hard for me to take this off my plate, not commenting and all. I really did not want to do that, but I know God is asking me to to stay in balance right now with the time I need to prepare for class and not take more time away from Will and John this summer.

Lori, I think I've read every Debbie Macomber book, and I share them with my 96-year-old mother-in-law! Another twin-ness! Praise the Lord, Lauren has a job interview next week, so maybe she'll soon be too busy to be lonely. I am praying hard that God will call to her in TN, and that she will hear Him.
Jacque, I'm so glad you and Michael have had some happy family days. "Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me." (Philippians 3:13-14). Also, your mother, Jeanne, has been added to my prayer list for healing. Hang in there, dear Jacque.
