Just posting quickly before going to bed. Today's readings is rich with nuggets. Susie, I thought of Kelly when I read Psalm 91:3 "For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease." How timely that it is on the same day as her appointment. May you both go in with God's word in mind. Peace to you.

Wendy, not to put any pressure on you or anything, but I actually cried tears of joy this morning when I heard you say you will probably continue this amazing Bible study next year. Lord, please send Wendy that 100% confirmation she is seeking!
I, too, had a hard time choosing a nugget for today. Nearly the whole reading washed over me like a soothing breeze. But at long last I chose Psalm 91:14-16
“The Lord says, I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life,
And give them my salvation.”
Last night I took my 88-year-old father to an outdoor concert by our town’s “Swing Band.” Many of the musicians are in their 70’s, 80’s and even 90’s! As I watched them, and the audience of all ages, I thanked God for all the wonderful stages of life He has gifted me with, and I “smiled at the days to come.” I am eagerly anticipating having grandchildren some day, but most of all I prayed that God would grant my husband and me the blessing of growing old together. So 91:16 really spoke to me -- “I will reward them with a long life.”

Lori, I smiled when I read your suggestion about the Debbie Macomber books. I have probably read every single one, and I share them with my 96-year-old mother-in-law! Another twin-ness. Thank you so much for your prayers for Lauren, that she would hear God’s call during her years in Tennessee. (I hear that’s a great spot for listening to Him ;-). Praise God, Lauren may soon be too busy to be lonely, as she has a job interview next Monday! And today at 11:00 is Chuck’s interview. I have to pray today for calmness for ME!

May they provide protection physically, emotionally and spiritually to these two daughters of Yours. May You place Your healing hand on Kelly so that there is not a trace of cancer in her, nor any side effects of her treatment. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen!

I'm not feeling very deep today! My favorite part was in the last few verses - about angels. I've heard debate about whether or not we actually have guardian angels, but that makes it sound to me as if we do. What a wonderful thought - He sends His angels to protect us and lift us up! I really like that.
Susie, my notebook isn't with me right now, but the verse about how God is our shield made me think about your daughter and her test today. I prayed those verses for both of you.

I love your nuggets. I agree that this reading was packed full of wonderful words. It was hard to chose just one!! ! I was really led to Psalm 91:9-13. I love the fact the He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go if we make the Lord our refuge. The refuge has to be God...nothing else.

Great vlog Wendy. I loved what you had to say. I am just starting to get out of my jetlag funk that I've been in since getting home from Europe. Whew! We are so tired out and foggy in our heads. My dreams are all over the place...Norway, Germany, scenery, people....my sleep isn't even restful yet. I'm getting there...

Old: Psalm 33:22. "for our hope is in You alone"...I need to remind myself of that and also ask myself if that is true for me. I want it to be but is it always? No. Too many times I hope in myself and my own strength; which I know pales in comparison to God. Lord, help me hope in You alone.
New: Psalm 71:20..."You have ALLOWED me to suffer much hardship, but You will restore me to life again"...God allows hardship but promises restoration. Like Beth Moore says in her "So Long Insecurity" book...play any scenario out to the end, and you still find Jesus there.
Nugget: Psalm 91:1..."those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty"....no truer words I know.

"I will reward them with a long life," spoke to me today, probably because I took my dad to an outdoor concert last night given by our town's Swing Band. Most of the musicians are in their 70's, 80's and even 90's, and they were joyfully playing for two hours! Observing them, and the audience of all age groups, I praise God for all the many stages of life he has already gifted me with. I do "smile at the future" as I eagerly anticipate grandchildren some day, but mostly I pray that my husband and I may grow old together.

May they provide protection, peace and comfort to you all day, and may our Lord reach his healing hands out to Kelly to heal her of any cancer cells, or any side effects of treatment. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Jacque, you sounded good in your last post. May he continue to strengthen you. I'm so happy you and Michael had some happy family times this weekend. It sounds like you are "at a new level and getting a new devil", as Joyce Meyers would say, with assaults on you from all sides. I have put your dear mother Jeanne on my healing prayer list, and in fact prayed mighty prayers for you on my exercise walk this morning.

good morning, good morning, Today's reading gave me so much energy, probably some vim and vinegar too. LOL just realized many of you are to young to know what that means. sometimes vim and vinegar can get you in trouble, but mostly just extreme energy to accomplish alot, and talk alot. But mine today is to know my LORD. He spoke in Psal 71 twice about the aged. I am aged, but try never to say old. Old is a state of mind, aged means (to me) that I have lived many years. v. 9 and 18, Lord don't abandon me. Jacque... the hardest thing about being aged is that we are alone alot. that is just part of it. Having a TIA is a great positive thing, because she now knows that she has the tendency for strokes, she just didn't have a big one. Many people have TIAs and don't realize it until a test for something else is made. Now the drs will treat her for the tendency. Remember the Blessing Book, and it would be wonderful if all 13 children gave her a written message about how she blessed them. You could put those in the front of the book, and that would get her started in making her own. And then she could use it for writing down her prayers. What a gift for you children to have her prayers. Encourage her to do this for you. See - we have spent the best years of our lives serving others, especially our children, and we long for those years. That might encourage her to do this, so she can remember her blessings.
Jacque - you have a lot on your plate, but God knows and will bless you also. Make sure you are watching for them.

Nugget: (different from the theme that I followed): "The wicked are too proud to seek God" Psalm 10:4a. May I not be found as such and my to do is to seek God in all I do and think.

I have been having unbelievable problems posting yesterday and today. I do it, I see it there, and later I go back and it's not there. Aaarrgghhh! I did two postings this morning, and only one is still there, so here goes take two on my comments on the reading--
I chose Psalm 91:16

At an outdoor Swing Band concert last night, I was in awe of the musicians, most in their 70s, 80s and even 90s, joyfully playing for two hours. I thank God for the many stages of life He has already gifted my with, and I "smile at the future," and especially pray to grow old with my wonderful husband.

Now it's the morning...
Psalm 2 is a messianic psalm that features God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit having a conversation. Chuck Missler refers to it as "a meeting of the War Counsel." The Psalm shows the Trinity in total control of the events happening on the earth. They are discussing the "Cosmic War" going on in Rev 6-13. Psalm 2:1-3 is the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking of the nations.
Psalm 2:4-6 is the voice of the Father making declaration of the King, His Son being set up on Mount Zion.
Psalm 2:7-8 is the voice of the Son quoting the Father
Psalm 2:9-12 is again the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to the Kings of the earth.
The conversation in Psalm s is a prelude to Revelation 14. At this time all the nations are deceived by the antichrist.
I thought that was interesting because it shows how everything in the bible is connected. Every detail is there for a reason.

I was loving all the Psalms and remembered that someone mentioned how refreshing it is to be in the Psalms and out of all the kings, war, "evil done in the sight of the Lord"...It makes me realize that in the midst of my daily strife: family issues, oil in the Gulf, money woes--I could go on...I need to be refreshed daily (maybe hourly) by coming before His throne with praise and thanksgiving...He is so good and faithful and I trust Him with it all..."Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone" (underline alone!!)

We leave for our family ‘trip’ (ha-ha) in a couple of weeks, and it will be the longest I have not followed along with ya’ll – in my daily readings…[I’ve decided to go tech-free on our trip. It’s the only time my husband does not carry his work cell phone, so if he can do it, so can I! Now, the teenager’s well, that’s another story! smile] I was not sure if Wendy was going to take this whole blog on again next, year, so I’ve talking to God about how this will be a trial run for me! Ya know, to see how I do reading the Bible alone, without ya’ll and all of your wisdom that I get from each of you, daily. I’ve already been praying that He would teach me each day what He desires me to know…well, what a gift you’ve given to us sweet Wendy! To take on another year of serving us through God’s Word. You can’t imagine the excitement I felt in my heart, knowing that I could lean on you again next year! Thank you Jesus!
Today, Dear Lord, may Kelly’s scan prove free of new cancer, may you take away any anxiety that Susie may be feeling, may your will be, to grant Chuck the substitute teaching position, may Lauren receive the job position she is interviewing for, will you allow Susan to capture memorable moments on film for her wedding shoot? Please walk along besides Jacque today. May her words, be Your words, may you supply this family with everything they need to make it through today. Give Jeanne an encouraging word today through a nearby friend. We pray that you will grant a change of heart in GP’s earthly father. We lift up Kate’s traveling and seek harmony during their trip. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” - “For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go” (91: 4 & 11). Thank you dear Father for protecting Colton and Connor while they are driving!

Father, help me to bear the fruit of the Spirit in each season of life. I know all seasons will eventually arrive, each one producing the fruit designed by the Creator for such a time as this. Father, help me to cultivate each season with mediating on your Word, so each season will be plentiful and only good fruit will remain. Col.1:10

Hello Sweet Sisters,
Just popping in on my break at work to check in on everyone.
Remember the sweet feeling of peace I had all day yesterday??? Well Satan had enough of that and tried to throw me off today. My husband, whome I have been seperated from for a year and a 1/2, called me at work this morning and proceeded to yell at me. I had to take deep cleansing breaths and ask for the Lord's words as I waited out the assault. Satan has NO hold on me and VICTORY is mine saith the Lord.
Praying for everyone today and especially thinking of Susie and Kelly.
My notes from today's reading are at home. However, Psalm 91 was my grandmother's favorite. I am blessed to actually have her voice on tape reciting this very Psalm. As I read it this morning, I could hear her.
Today is my long day with both jobs but I will be back later tonight.

Ohhh, one more thing. We have all been talking lately about our "idols" and how TV can be one such idol. I have deleted some shows off my DVR that I felt I would not watch if God were sitting next to me (which he is) and for the most part I have had the TV off when I'm home. What a difference just soaking up God makes. I'm not telling anyone to ditch their TV. I'm just saying that moderation in it's use and not turning to it to fill the void can make SUCH a difference in how the day goes.

Lots of great reading today with so many nuggets. I love Psalm 91 and especially verse 11 “For he will order his angles to protect you wherever you go. God is so good. I just got the book” Angles Among us: separating fact from fiction” by Ron Rhodes. I have not stared it yet but am looking forward to reading it.
Jessica, my husband and I have decided not to watch TV. But we rent more appreciate shows, like old movies. It works for us. I am out of the loop when friends talk about the latest popular shows, but O’ well. I don’t miss it at all.

Hi all,
When our kids were teens, only 31/2 years apart, we memorized chapters of scriptures during the summer months. Psalm 1 was one of them, only in KJV. It rolls off my tongue; hope it does theirs, too.
Ps.91 14-16 says God will rescue, protect, answer, be with, honor, and reward those who love Him.
What great promises!

Can I ask for prayer for one more thing? One of my Bible study friends is a pastor's wife and is helping him at church camp where there was a real tragedy last year, and between that and beginning a new job with lots of responsibility in just a few weeks, she really feels as if she's under attack. God is calling her to do big things this year, and she's scared! Thanks!

Just popping in quickly. I am on the second day of a business trip in Vienna and my time is limited. I LOVE the Psalms for the 6th and 7th! So many of my favorites here! Psalm 1, 2, 71, 91,93, 95 and 96!
Wendy, I am posting before you do on the 7th; sorry. I will be back after I get back to Basel later tonight. I just wanted to comment on what struck me today; Psalm 94:17-19
17 Unless the Lord had helped me,
I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave.
18 I cried out, “I am slipping!”
but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.
19 When doubts filled my mind,
your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.
This is exactly where I have been this week. "Arrows" have flown, but God has been my Rock and my sheild. I struggled to understand and to forgive. I saw it was my pride that was getting in the way. I stopped and prayed for God to change me from the inside out. To take each of my steps and put them on the path He laid. I turned my hurt over to Him. And He supported me with His unfailing Love! He comforted me, renewed me and gave me cheer.
In honor of His graciousness, faithfulness and goodness, I want to praise Him! I want Psalm 71
to be ture for me:
17 O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood,
and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do.
18 Now that I am old and gray,
do not abandon me, O God.
Let me proclaim your power to this new generation,
your mighty miracles to all who come after me.
I pray the I do proclaim His power and all that He has done for me, to this new generation.
