Strict Training Part 2
I thought it was time I gave an update on my exercise saga.

In my earlier post, Strict Training, I discussed my extreme dislike for exercise. It has been an exciting adventure so far with many spiritual lessons. I am still waiting on a deep love for exercise.

The first lesson I was reminded of is a need for accountability. We women love company don't we? Having company makes whatever we are doing seem more tolerable and somewhat more enjoyable. This is why we go to the bathroom in pairs and don't like to have lunch alone. Several girls from our staff and team have decided to get into shape and are holding each other accountable for our commitment to the individual goals we have set. Knowing that at on any given day one of my excercising sisters might ask me about my exercise makes me want to stay focused and committed to my goal.

This is just like our walk with the Lord, girls. We must have accountability, company in our walk. I found this to be vital on my adventure with the Lord. My accountability partners not only keep me on the narrow path where I desire to walk they encourage me in the valley and and are there to celebrate with me on the mountain top.

In my next post I will share other spiritual insights that I am learning through exercise. So stay tuned and keep excercising.

For His Renown

Wendy,

Have you exercised today??? I haven't all week! Ahhh! In my defense, sick kids are all around me. (although my fingers are getting plenty of exercise on my computer!)

Seriously, thanks for posting about your journey with all of this. I'm so happy to be on your team as an accountability partner to share ideas, struggles, successes, etc.

I miss you and my P31 office pals! Don't have too much fun without me, I don't want to miss out on anything!

Love you,
Melissa

How wonderful that you have friends to exercise with and keep you accountable. I have had good intentions but haven't gotten real far since I have struggled with health issues the past couple weeks. I need to get motivated again. :)

Funny, my husband said just this week, "nobody really likes to exercise." And I said in a quiet reply to him, "I do!! I love my aerobics class." :) You come exercise with me sometime girlfriend.

There can be problems with having a nice accountability partner. Mine lets me get away with every excuse in the book. I do the same for her.

Next week we're going Marine Corps on each other.

Happy exercising!

"Retired Seven",

Do you know what you need to keep you on track for working out? You need some work-out music!! Take some "pump-up-your-spirits" jams and pop those puppies on a cd, or a playlist if you EVER catch the ipod train ;). That is THE secret to working out- not only does time fly but you work harder! It doesn't have to be the rap and hip-hop stuff, though. Stick to what makes you go. Find the beat and dance. Pretty sure you can dance with and for Jesus while walking on a treadmill :)) LOVE YOU, friend~
