I thought I would share a family favorite dessert. My family loves, loves, loves chocolate. This recipe is one of the top three favorite chocolate desserts I make. The recipe has been lovingly passed to me from my mother-in-law. I have passed it on too many times to tell. It never fails, when I serve it someone other than my family, the person always wants the recipe. If you make it and serve it, be prepared to share it.
Betty's Chocolate Chip Pound Cake
1 bx yellow cake mix (store brand will do)
1 sm chocolate instant pudding
1/2 c sugar
3/4 c vegetable oil
3/4 c water
4 lg eggs
1 8 oz sour cream
1 6 oz chocolate chip
Mix first three ingredients with the wisk. Add oil and add next 3 ingredients until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into greased and floured cake pan.
Bake @ 350 for 45-50 minutes.Happy baking and happy eating!

Girls, yesterday we saw a breakthrough with my Dad. I wrote it up on my "Ponderings" blog last night. We still need prayer, but I actually feel like I can breathe again.
I have so much underlined in todays passage, I think my "Pondering in His Presence" will be long, but for purposes here I want to rejoice with Deut 6:22, "The LORD did miraculous signs and wonders before our eyes..." Girls, that's what my family saw yesterday as the Lord did more than we could ask or imagine.
"...the LORD your God is among you, and he is a great and awesome God". Deut 7:21.
Thank you for being so faithful in prayer. God is answering!

Joyful-Praise God for your dad's breakthrough. As I wrote on your blog I was going through the same thing with my Father in Law. Our God did miraculous signs and wonders before our eyes and my FIL was expected to die but has amazingly come home from the hospital late yesterday. Praise Jesus!

Joy, I'm just filled with joy right now. I read your blog last night and was giddy with praises to our heavenly Almighty God! I was so praying for a TURN-AROUND yesterday...Praise the Lord! Opening up your heart to us and watching God's hands on your family has been sweet{seeing God get the glory}. I love how everyone is encouraging one another---we must do this "all the more as [we] see the Day approaching." We have a miraculous God! Talking about the miracles He performs and encouraging each other makes it easier for each one of us to deal with our own trials when they arrive!
The reading today was full of golden nuggets. I could go on and on, but I will share a few verses that I so loved:
"Repeat them [commandments] again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your foreheads as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."
The Ten commandments are important. The Devil will attempt to lesson the importance of them any way he can. Staying in God's Word will keep us focussd on keeping our footsteps in alignment with His.

My most sought after chocolate cake is the Earthquake cake. If anyone is interested I'll post it...it has cream cheese in it...or you can google it . Where ever I take it, I always come home with an empty pan. I took it to a plant swap the first time I made it, and one man tried to trade some of his plants for it. :)
I have enjoyed Wendy's commentary every day so very much and look forward to all the comments, too. Why can't I see all that you all see for myself? I keep trying.
