Yesterday was a milestone. We reached day 100 on our journey and I wrote my 200th post.
But the big news is...
He is ALIVE!!!!

WOW...day 100...REALLY? It's gone by so quickly!!! Wendy, thank you so much for your commitment to this....it's helping so many of us stay in His Word. Just think of all the treasures we've unearthed, and all yet to come.
Today my mind was caught by a little phrase in 1 Sam.10:22, "He is hiding among the baggage." When Saul was chosen as King he was nowhere to be found. He was hiding.
I've been pondering the 'baggage' that conceals my heart. My mind has drifted back to the childhood game of "Hide and Seek". I've written about the grown-up version of that playground favourite today on my blog.
It's time to have the courage to be found! The Lord came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). What better time to become fully alive than Easter.

Yesterday, Wendy Blight wrote an awesome devotion, "Draw Me Nearer Lord." Read it if you get a chance. At the end she recommended the book you did earlier, Wendy! [i am not but i know I AM.] It was my lucky day. I had ordered this book recently, and it arrived yesterday!!! I recommend it too...I started it and had a hard time putting it down...AMAZING and very thought-provoking! One comment from the author that stuck out to me was, "But just then it hits me that sin is deceptively strong and that pride has many faces." ouch!
The Israelites had a hard time, *daily* choosing to follow God. Each *day* we have to make that decision...to choose or refuse Christ. Help me Lord, not to assume that I know what is best for my life. I need wisdom and guidance from you.
Today we ended our reading with Samuel's wise words: "As for me, I will certainly not sin against the LORD by ending my prayers for you....be sure to fear the LORD and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you. But if you continue to sin, you...will be swept away!"
I don't think he could have said it any clearer!
Lord, show me the sin on my heart! Keep me pure, seeking YOU and only YOU. Help me look beyond myself...it's not about me, but all about YOU! How I love you dear Jesus!

Joy...Thanks for the reminder of the games we play with even God sometimes. As the angel of the Lord often is quoted in the Bible, "You need not be afraid" to come out! The Lord God is with you, he knows your pain, your shame, your mistakes, your sins! and understands them all. They are what often brings us to Him. That's what makes us stretch and grow and mature in our walk with Him. No one is perfect! Forgiveness is available to all who believe and call upon His blessed name. That is why He stretched out his arms and died for each of us because He loves us sooooo much!
A Blessed Easter to all! May each of you recieve a blessing from God's rich store house of blessings He has for you and I!

Debbie, I have a GREAT recipe for cream cheese danish swirls I am making right now as I read this to take to our church breakfast in the morning. I will be happy to share if you would like. I have never made them that they were not oohed and awed over :)

Almond Cream Cheese Danish Swirls
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
2 8-oz cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Glaze:
1 cup confectioner's sugar
6 tsp milk
3/4 tsp almond extract
In a small bowl beat the cream cheese, almond extract and sugar until light and fluffy.
Separate 1 can of dough and assemble into 4 rectangles. Firmly press the perforations to seal. Press or roll each piece of dough to form a 7x4" rectangle and spread each with cream cheese filling to within 1/4" of the edges. Starting at the short end, roll each rectangle tightly into a cylinder. Repeat with the other can of dough and remaining filling. Place on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and chill until firm, about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350. Remove from refrigerator and cut each roll into 4 slices. Place 1/2" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until light brown.
While baking, mix together glaze ingredients. Cool swirls on wire rack until slightly warm and drizzle icing over them.
*These can be made the day before and kept in the refrigerator in a plastic bag. Bring to room temperature before serving. I actually think they taste better if you make them the day before. Te almond flavor combines with the cream cheese if they set a day. If you don't like almond, vanilla can be substituted. But I think the almond is amazing with the cream cheese! Another addition can be chopped slivered almonds after you add the glaze.

100 days- woohoo! My favorite scripture from today's reading was 1 Samuel 10:6, "At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person." Very appropriate for this weekend as we celebrate our risen Savior. When His Spirit comes to live in us we are changed into a different person, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Brandee, that recipe sounds delicious. I have to wait until I get to the store for some cresent rolls to try it; the anticipation is almost overwhelming.
We have been to a "Set Me Free" weekend at one of our local churches, this weekend. It was absolutely amazing to see and feel the power of God moving in our midst. Have you ever experienced the presence of Jesus so much that you simply don't want to leave...don't want to get back into the world? Oh well, I know that one day we will get to actually "rest high upon that mountain".
