This has been another amazing week of study, hasn't it? It only gets better! I wonder what new things God will teach us when we read again next year. Hmmm?

We are so happy to announce that Phil and Jennifer Rothschild will be joining as special guests this year at She Speaks. Jennifer will teaching the Saturday evening message and Phil will lead a break-out session for the women's leadership track at the pre-conference on Friday. The conference is 2/3 full so if you are thinking about coming make your decision fast. The conference sells out every year. I can tell you God has already moved mountains and prepared the way for His amazing handiwork. It will be an event you don't want to miss!

Father, we ask that you would take away any fears, anxieties, or upset stomach that Wendy may be experiencing and help her to look to you. Father, we know that you will do amazing things through her. Susan Silvia, I looked back at yesterday's posts and loved what you had to say about the Max Lucado study of David. I am putting the quote, "David succeeds when he looks to God in those moments of desparate need not when he looks at the giant" on my family chalk board in the kitchen.
Ladies I have used this chalk board for many years to "post" scriptures and sayings that speak to my heart that I want shared with my family. Everyone passes this board as they go out the door. Sometimes I find one that may speak to one of my family members who is struggling and this is one way I have found to encourage them...especially at times when they do not want to talk about it. (teens especially)
I will also place a devotion or book on the bathroom counter next to the toilet in hopes it is picked up and read by anyone who uses the bathroom. Just a few ways to plant the word of God in my children's/husband's heart in a more subtle way.
I also found writing "letter's" to my teens and slipping them under the door or leaving them on their pillow to be an effective way to share my heart felt feelings with them without interuption or power struggles. It was my hopes that they took time to read them and that my words had some time to sink in before they responded. Usually my daughter would respond with a comment and it opened up our dialouge once again. Sounds old fashioned in the day of face book, blog posts, e-mails...and twittering. But something as precious as a written letter may be a keepsake. It worked for me.
Enjoying another beautiful day in Illinois...I went to an outdoor wedding @ 5:30 p.m. yesterday. The weather was perfect. The first day of 70 degrees, warm and sunny here in Illinois. I told the couple it must be a match made in heaven to have such a beautiful day for their outdoor wedding in April! Love from Illinois Debbie

Am praying for all of our husbands too...knowing and believing our God is awesome and we are in our own particular positions for a reason! So good to know that God's hands are on us! The Glory, God will get when he saves our husbands...just gives me goosebumps to think about it...so ya'll don't stop praying! Believe God! He can move mountains and saving our husbands is a drop in the bucket for Him...the more impossible it seems...the easier it really is for Him...gotta love that!!!!

Today's reading was so good and so applies to our own lives! David knew and respected the LORD; he would not kill Saul when given the opportunity because he was "annointed by the LORD." He knew he was still under Saul's authority. Our own individual churches exists as the bodily representative of Christ on earth...Church leaders are directly responsible to God for what they preach...Heb. 13:17-
"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority." The Church's future depends on realizing this. May Christians today seize the opportunity to enter into a rebellion, backbiting, backstabbing, and basically killing the positive influence that the church should have on its community...just like what is happening in the small town where
Nancy lives.

I had ladies night last night, it was great just to sit around and catch up with everyone. If you can, try it with a group of friends.
Today a friend and I went to a Southern Women’s Show. It had lots of fru fru stuff like monogram hand bags, makeovers, massages, cooking demos and stuff like that.
Lots of fun.
It is 80 degrees here in VA today. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

good morning ladies,
i write in the dark of the early morning to ask for prayer for my beloved 11yo daughter tess (the ballerina) who had a non-dance related ankle injury last night. Praise God the preliminary xray read says 'not broken', but she has significant soft tissue injury, and is unable to bear weight.
please pray for healing, stability of her joint, and return to strength, and that this does not limit her in her upcoming season of competition, recitals, and the debut of her new pointe duet.
please also pray that this will teach her to increasingly respect her physical gift (as a surgeon protects her hands, so a dancer must protect her legs/ankle/feet and not expose herself to unnecessary risks like jumping on a trampoline at a sleepover!!!...but i digress...)
the whole time we were on the way to the E.R. i quoted our recent reading from april 15th, psalm 34:20-
'For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!'
i CLAIMED that Scripture. i stood on it. i camped on it. i said it 1000 times as i drove to the hospital, as we checked in, as we waited for the xray reading, and then cried in relief when God showed Himself strong ...again...thank You Lord.
thank You for Your Word, when i was so concerned that i couldn't think of any intelligent words of my own... thank You for the kind, compassionate and efficient medical personel who helped us. and please bless all of the other patients there in the ER who were so much more acute than we were, who were in pain, who were scared. we were more afraid of the implication of an injury to her dancing, than the true physicality of a break, or a cast, or the pain...wondering what this would mean for her intense upcoming rehearsal and performance schedule , and then a family i recognized came into the triage area with a 4yr old that they were assessing for possible sexual abuse....wow...wow...please bless them Lord. be with them. wow...
Lord, please let me remember how it felt to be the scared mother of a hurt child, the next time i take care of someone's daughter, and let me spend a longer moment being more loving and comforting them. let me be Your vessel of healing to them, even more.....

Wendy I pray that this weekend has been a wonderful time for you and the ladies you are ministering too. Beautiful weather here in TN the past two days and it was so nice to be outside and enjoying it! Lori, I thank you for the prayers for our husbands. My son asked me yesterday if Daddy was going to church again with us today. I told him to talk to him about it and see what he says. I keep praying that his precious little heart will be used to reach John in powerful ways. Amy Jane, prayers for Tess. Good morning! Here in Missouri it is cloudy and suppose to rain ...supporting the fact it is a day of rest. lol
You have all been in my prayers, and I am thankful for your prayers. Those of you whom have husbands that are not yet walking with God, I pray especially for you this morning.
In today's reading we find that Jonathan and Saul are dead. I am still amazed at David's response to Saul; he did not rejoice when he found this news. Yet, David is free from the constant running and hiding from Saul's rath. In this instant, David's life has changed...yet he respectfully mourns Saul's death, as well as the death of his beloved friend,Jonathan.

Wendy, I pray you have had a wonderful family weekend in NC. I am curious...what do they do at a "Family Enrichment Conference"? Sounds delightful!
Again, I am so thankful for this group of women. I look forward to reading your posts and think often of those who are here and have yet to post. Yes, I too look forward to what we will gleam next year as we grow more in Him.

So encouraging to read all the comments! Brandee I had some awesome prayer for your family and your husband this am - that his hearts desire would be to worship and praise our Lord and to be in the encouraging fellowship of other believers. I too have experienced the longing of my daughter for my husband to attend church with us - I never want her to become calloused in this area. I am always encouraged that she has not lost faith in this arena of waiting! I do believe that our spirit-filled children will be used to woo our husbands to being faithful beleivers!

Diane - always love your comments! So honest and humble! I pray for you often and can tell that the Lord is your Stong Tower! I miss your comments and pray more fervently when I don't see them.
Nancy - am praying about your community. I have experienced very similiar circimstances and have lived out the victory in a town (pop. 8000) that is being set free because Truth not religion reigns!
Karen - What an awesome healing miracle for your sister-in-law! Praise God and thank you, Jesus!
Deb - thank you for the great ideas for getting the Truth to our children in unique ways that don't come across as instruction but as love! My daughter is 8 and I have declared that we/she will not struggle with the issues of teenagehood like the world struggles but that the Truth of God's word and who He says she is will allow her to soar through those years under the shadow of His wings and I often pray for her to have christian friends who hold her accountable to what she knows to be true and right. I encourage each of you, to realize that our children's spiritual age and maturity can be/is way beyond their physical age and that He is pouring out his Spirit on them, enabling them the power to overcome the sinful, disobedient, amoral ways of the world - just as he poured out his spirit on David at a young age. David still made mistakes, as our children will and we do, BUT his heart was turned toward God and God made the best of David.
Having a fabulous weekend with family and friends, experiencing answered prayer as I see my husband transformed as his hearts desire is to be with, nurture, share, spend time with our family! He did tend to be a work-aholic and this weekend he sold all of his cattle (which he loves dearly and they required quite a bit if time and care) in order to spend more quality time with us! Praise you Lord that you hear our cry and you answer in such an awesome way and in your perfect timing!

Have any of you done the new Esther study by Beth Moore? A Monday morning Bible study is starting up at my church next week and that is what we are going to be doing. I am super excited! I heard it is really good.
