I tried.
I died.
I stopped.
So, I might live for God.
Can it get any more clear than that? When I get this right it is not me who is living but it is my Christ who lives in me and through me. Oh, that I might get this right one day. I try and fail but by the grace of God (that I trust I don't treat as meaningless, isn't that beautiful-v21) I try again.
Today I want more God. Today I want to live for God. Can we say this everyday? As the new mercies of a new day fall upon us let's just say, "Today I want to live for you God." I can sense a difference already!

We are sinful by nature, - no way could any of us keep the Law of God. But, we are led and empowered by the indwelling Holy Spirit! Ahh, children of God by faith in Christ Jesus! God's laws were not given to keep us from having a life, but to bring us to life! In Him was life, (John 1:4). Forgiveness and life are all available through a personal faith in Jesus Christ. "Know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law," (Gal. 2:16). "God has no favorites," (Gal. 2:6).
"Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God," (Gal. 1:10).
Today I want to live you you God!

Each morning as I visit your blog here and read what the Lord has placed on your heart to share, I know God has directed your writing and given you truths to expand upon, personalize and share. The Lord has used/is using you to be such an incredible blessing in my life this year. Thank you for "encouraging (us) to continue in the faith". Acts 14:22

Galations 1:10 has become one of my favorite verses over the past few years. "Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."
An old hymn comes to my mind this morning. The chorus says, "I'll live for him who died for me, How happy then my life shall be! I'll live for him who died for me, My Savior and my God!
Verse1- My life, my love I give to Thee, Though Lamb of God who died for me; Oh, may I ever faithful be, My Savior and My God.
Verse2- I now believe thou dost receive, For though hast died that I might live; And now, henceforth I'll trst to thee, My Savior and my god!
Verse3- O though who died on Calvary, To save my soul and make me free, I'll consecrate my life to thee, My Savior and my God!"

May we continue to live free in Him who died for us and be not enslaved to legalism. May we strive to be more like Christ, our Savior and our God!
I was struck today by Paul's concise yet beautiful explanation of the law having kept us in protective custody until the way of faith was revealed. (Galations 3:23)
We were in the womb under the guard of the law until Christ Jesus was born to give us life. Wow.
I join you all in being hungry and thirsty for God...for wanting more of him and wanting to live for Him! I pray every day for God to help me remember He is my strength, not Me...and to direct my path for the glory of his kingdom here on earth as it, and I, am being transformed.
Full to overflowing, that is how I feel this morning, too.

Reading "we were kept in protective custody" was a aha moment for me as well. Just to know nothing can get to me because of HIS protection causing the wells of salvation to flow out of my very being! Ps. 91, Isaiah 12

My nugget (or shall I say conviction) was Paul's rebuke to Peter in Gal 2:11-16. Peter was afraid of criticism from his peers.
I confess there are many times I need a good rebuke for my behavior change to fit the friends I'm with. Afraid of criticism... wanting to be accepted... concerned about being too "preachy"... concerned about rejection.

I died
I stopped... and that is the rub. I must stop trying to meet all the requirements to please others, and put my focus on whether it is pleasing to God.
As Paul says in Gal 1:10, "Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."
