Friends, I have a prayer request of my own today. My 58-year-old sister, Denise, suffers from Scleroderma and multiple complications and is in a wheelchair. She is having heart issues and may have to be hospitalized (instead of being at my daughter's Bridal Shower tomorrow.) I long ago stopped questioning God about Denise's ill health. I only ask that you would send up a prayer for mental, emotional and spiritual strength for my sister, so that she may handle whatever God has planned for her. Thank you!

Morning Everyone, I have not watched the video yet but done the reading. We are heading to a cool place today called KY Down Under that is a zoo with all kinds of things from Australia. Will is SOO excited and I know it is going to be a wonderful day! H a p p y birthday, sweet Rhonda! Thank you for pulling out info. re: the sandals. I picture Jesus in sandals too, his never-ending love as he showed compassion and love to those around him. Not a stingy bone in HIS body, that is for sure. We are called to be like Him. Oh, my heart wants to be like Him. The stories some of you have shared have really touched me, and I can see how generous you are and can feel that you are a walking Jesus. I on the other hand am a bit stingy. I hate to admit it. I'm overly giving with family and friends, but oh...I'm praying about this and I know God will change this part of me, because He is good at changing us! My grandpa was the most generous man. He came from a family of 9 children and he was the only boy-the youngest too! His daddy was a pastor. On his final day of life (80's) he had purchased several large chocolate eggs and was delivering them on his bicycle! When he got home he was gardening and dropped over dead with a heart-attack...but, His loving ways were witnessed by me. My dear sister, who is a Christian, but does not read her Bible every day, got all his generous bones!
Michelle, I loved what you said about Jeanne in NC. I love reading her late-posts too! I always 'check-in' to see if "she" is there! :) I was going to bed last evening and I was thinking about our lovely group and how close I am feeling to ya'll! I see God leading us through Wendy's mouth, and all of us in the middle with open hearts and willing spirits, so eager to learn, then our dear and precious Jeannne following behind at the end making sure none of us get left out! I do love you all!
Will pray for Denise, Michelle. God, His ways are better than our ways. We trust and know that HE is WORKING through Denise, we don't necessarily see what He is doing, but He is busy, working in her life.

Boy, today we read about obeying him and the curses when we do not!
He is asking us to “fully obey” him (Deut. 28:1). FULLY.
What happens when we fully obey Him~ “The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!” This verse shows us that God does work in ways we’d never believe!
IF we will obey…
The LORD WILL…
When we obey God we live with His peace. “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them” (John 14:21).
Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit who is inside us and who will never leave us. Ladies, inside us He is counseling us, guiding us, and reminding us continually about the commandments. That is why we have to remember what we read yesterday: We desire to have the evil purged from among us! I looked up purge: to rid of whatever is impure or undesirable; cleanse; purify, wipe-out, expel, disposal, riddance, dismiss! Good riddance evil! We seek and desire to have a pure heart.
I so want to live not just random victorious days, but living and abiding in Him ~ living a victorious life! How? Daily, giving God my first-fruits, and spending time in prayer… Then, anticipating him all day long… giving him the glory… lifting up praises to him… thanking him for his goodness… Obedience to reading God’s word everyday is the source of our strength dear, precious, GIG! Thank you dear Lord for selecting me and adopting me into your family! We are your “special treasure[s]” (Deut. 26:18).
I’m finding how important this ridding ourselves of evil is. When our hearts are pure there is an open dialogue going on between us and God. He’s lead me for about a year or so now, to daily, during my prayer time, ask Him to show me the evil on my heart. I want nothing dividing me from him. I want to know him, truly KNOW him, more each day. Just this week he did some ‘revealing’ to me. I’m telling you, the way he showed me something had me stop. My heart almost skipped a beat! He combined 2 different situations and clearly showed me apart of myself that I was unaware of! I love him so much. I’m telling you he will transform us and he will help dismiss the evil that is lurking inside us, if we are willing! And, ya know what…I am willing, because the end result is peace, and knowing him at a deeper level. Thank you dear Lord, for today I am walking a little, tiny, bit more like Jesus! Thank you Lord for pursuing me. I am zealous for you!

One word is the first verse of today's reading hit me. I looked it up in the dictionary- wholehearted-completely and sincerely devoted,determined, or enthusiastic-marked by complete and ernest commitment- every aspect of our relationship with Jesus is affected by our obedience to His commands.Only through wholehearted devotion can we even begin to obey Him. Praise Jesus because of grace He looks at our hearts not our actions. [of course our hearts determine our actions but sometimes our flesh reacts instead of our Spirit]. I earnestly pray that when Jesus looks at my heart He sees a heart that wants to obey Him more than keep beating. Thanks Lyn for sharing this study with me. You are a treasure. Wendy, as always, you speak directly to my heart. I love all the names of God but Jehovah-Jireh is perhaps my favorite.
I truly needed to hear and be reminded about my secret things. God even knows the motivations of our hearts so why do I think anything I do that no one can see is missed by Him? What a reminder to remain in Him every second of every day. Thank you, Wendy.
What stuck out to me was 28:47-48. It goes along with some other things we have been learning as a family. If the Israelites did not serve the Lord with joy and enthusiam for their abundant blessings then they will serve their enemies the Lord sends against them.
Of course we see this in their times of exile and bondage but I think this relates to us today in what we have been learning through some seminars we have been taking. If we allow a root of bitterness to grow in our hearts that allows satan to set up a stronghold in our soul. What arises out of that is afflictions God sets up to teach us mercy.
So if we are bitter (ie not joyful for the Lord's blessings), then anger, fear, depression, self-rejection, and a host of other afflictions come. We "serve" an "enemy" the Lord sets up over us. I see this as a connection here.
We must confess our bitterness and ask God to regain that ground that was a stronghold.
Everyday I see and learn something new but this today was really an "A Ha" moment for me.

I believe that what really hit home with me in today's reading was the "secret places". God truly knows our heart and our desires, but we have to confess them to Him in order for Him to do some "cleaning!" I need to be more obedient in doing this.
Tonight and tomorrow, Anne Graham Lotz is coming to Greenville for her Just Give ME Jesus revival. Would y'all please pray for each of the women who will come? For those saved and unsaved? There are a lot to glean from today's reading and it all boils down to choices. What do we choose to do? My son is home for spring break and we had a heart to heart talk last night. Yes about choices particularly about relationship boundaries. Also about sin and consequences. He said he is not compelled to do the illicit drinking and drugs around campus (Prayers are working!). We talked about his relationship w/ his gf and admonished him to please, please not cross any lines that they are not supposed to cross until they are married. He assured me they have not. (Whew!) There were tears - good ones. But it did this mama's heart some good. Sure I feel foggy this morning because we stayed up til 1 am but it was good to get our fears and expectations out in the open. This is what I learned: God does protect, God does keep and God does listen. Thank you, dear Father. Praise our God!

Today I just kept connecting what Moses was telling the Isrealites about their behaviour and the consequences to come if they disobeyed, with the direction and consequences I see today in America.
I believe he was talking to us as much today as he was to the Isrealites back then.
Lord help America's disbelief. Bring us to our knees.

First I want to say "thank you" to Mary and Michelle for the verses for my soldier son, and to Susan...Runner Mom for prayers for him. I will definitely use these verses. Even though he doesn't leave until the end of the year, I am already praying that the Lord will put a hedge around him even now, and provide a safe way for him while he is there. I am also praying that that hedge will include his mind, that what he sees and hears will not affect him emotionally. It is amazing what our soldiers just have to "suck it up" and bury what they see. And go on like nothing has happened.
About today's reading...and thinking about the "secret places." Years ago I was doing one of Kay Aurthur's studies on the Sermon on the Mount. When we got to the verse "Blessed are the pure in heart" we stopped and did a study on the purity of God. At the end of that section there was a section of questions for us to answer to examine ourselves with. They were very personal questions, dealing not only with our actions but our thoughts life. You had to answer honestly! When I finished, I was appalled at what these questions showed me about myself! They really got down into your secret places. The first thing I wanted to do was burn them, but then the Lord spoke to me and told me He already knew what the answers would be EVEN BEFORE I ANSWERED THEM! The lesson went on to lead us to ask the Lord's forgiveness. That should have been the end of it, because the Lord does forgive and FORGETS, too.
Well Satan started working on me, for several weeks....telling me I couldn't possibly be saved with all that sin in my life. Finally, feeling miserable, I went to see my pastor, and after a lengthy discussion, he told me not to mourn my sin so much that I FORGOT WHAT HAD BEEN DONE FOR ME ALREADY ON THE CROSS!!!!!. You talk about pressure being relieved...that is what I had been doing...mourning over my sin, and forgetting God's wonderful grace in forgiving me instantly when I asked Him. He does know our secret places, and He will reveal any sin in our lives when we ask Him...but then remember what He has already don in your behalf 2100 years ago.

Now that most of you are resting or asleep, I write.:) I watched the vlog earlier in the day after I had read this morning. I also kept my precious grandson, Nicholas, 2yrs.old, and we played outside most of the day.
When I reread tonight, I went to the comm. of Chuck Smith and,of course, M.Henry. I don't know why the Lord led me that way, but I think He really wants me to have an understanding of what I don't understand...I've mentioned my comprehension problem. Anyway... Deut.26:18-19 spoke to my heart today for the condition of our nation. To think that so many people in this nation do not see us as a "special treasure" to the Creator of this universe is heartbreaking to me.
Matthew Henry, G&P's buddy ;), states that in v.19 "He makes them high,&in order to that, to make them holy; for holiness is true honour, and the only way to everlasing honour.
1.He makes them high above all nations. ****The greatest honour we are capable of in this world is to be taken into covenant with God and to live in His service... The nation should be high in praise, high in name, and high in honour.
2.That they might be a holy people, separated for God, devoted to Him, and employed continually in His service."
What has happened since the days of our Founding Fathers?? Oh, how our nation needs to have the characteristics that M.Henry references. I believe that we are a nation with more curses than blessings. So, Miss G&P, I am checking out the website about praying and fasting. Oh, that we may be a nation "under God" once again. Our leaders too have those secret places that may keep them from receiving blessings for our nation on their part. I could keep on, but the bottom line is: God has spoken to me today and has shown me that I have not been wholeheartedly praying for this nation and its leadership as I should. That task is my to do.
May God show His Mercy to our U.S.,
