Wendy, Gabriel is so cute! So that's what a miracle baby looks like. How adorable is he! Thank you for sharing the pics.

Enjoy your day at home witht the girls. We just finished the Minute to Win It, our family edition. It was DH & DS2 vs me and DS1. We were at slight disadvantage because DS2 has been living, breathing & practicing those games since he saw the show. They beat us by 12 seconds after 4 games. But it was such a great time to start the weekend.

I haven't done the reading yet but with all the adrenaline flowing right now I am not sleepy at all so I might do that.

Have a restful, blessed weekend all!

Happy Saturday GIG!

Wendy, home-sweet-home, I’m with ya Wendy, hangin’ out at home, sometimes is just the best way to spend a day! Thank you for this week of lessons! Another great week in His Word.

My Old: “And I will display my holiness through you as all the nations watch”
(Ezekiel 20: 41). Today, as others’ watch are they seeing a light shine out of me? Am I sanctified to God or to my idols? It’s a gradual development, - our transformation process. Many hindrances slow the process down. What can we set out to do each morning?
*Be watchful of our idols as satan never sleeps!
*Pray and tarry in His Word – make it our first and most important thing we do each day.
*Be in-tune to that quiet voice inside us, that redirects us when we veer off to the right/left.
*Persevere, - not give up when we fall down. God in His mercy does not give up on us.

My New:
What is the major point in this book of the Bible? (Ezekiel)
“you will know that I am the LORD” (Ezekiel 11:16). I’ve noticed how many times this phrase keeps repeating itself. I have highlighted in my margin –near 70 times!

My To Do: Just like Morgen spoke of, we need to keep seeking, each day, to know Him more and more! I want to delight myself in God’s Word, and prayerfully meditate upon it for His will in my life. (Psalm 1:2) Daily, girls’ when we open up our Bibles we need to…(thank you, Dictionary.com)
procrastinate
linger
loiter
remain
abide
dwell
and, yes tarry in His precious Word, today. Just like some men enjoy tinkering with their tools, we can receive joy and peace as we spend quietly with Him.

Seeking today, to know Him more.
Hugs, Lori

Sweet Stephanie, As I lifted up a prayer for you yesterday –I planned to send it; but, shortly after, I was reading in Psalms, and was drawn to 30:11 & 12…so, then I began praying for a turn-around in your situation.

Dear Lord, Creator of the Heaven’s and Earth… Maker of baby Kailyn, & Father to this young couple and newborn. Hear us this morning as we lift up prayers for our sister in TX. She is wailing; today, as she wakes up, turn her voice into dancing. Remove the sackcloth that satan wants to keep her in and clothe her with the joy that comes from your Holy Spirit. Today, allow her lift up her burden, her worries, her anxieties. May she know that many new mom’s experience this very same thing. But, with Steph, it’s different, for she does not have to carry all of this by herself. She can come to you and pour out her heart, and leave it with you. Thank you for her strong husband, Jason, that will not leave her side. Thank you, too, for the encouraging friends that have been placed on her path at this time. May they be your hands and feet down here, to comfort her and encourage her today. Lord, as You bend down and touch her, may your powerful confidence come out of her, and may she know how much she is loved. O LORD my God, we will give you thanks forever. Even for this trial, for this is here for a reason, planned out by you,- an opportunity for Stephanie, to grow even closer to You. May she not put any expectations on herself, but only to love, hold, and cuddle her new little package of beauty. Jesus, in Your precious name, we pray, Amen.

Lyn, just noticed that baby Kailyn has your name in her’s! Isn’t that sweet? I’m comforted knowing you are near Stephanie. Thank you, for keeping us updated.

Hugs, Lori

Lori I'm right with you on the prayer for Stefany. I did pray a few times last night for Stefany and she will be in my heart all day.

One more day and counting until my big vacation. We're leaving at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning to go meet my dad's friend and her daughter. Today we will finish packing and if we get it done we wil go out to dinner with my sister, bil, and nieces for my dad's birthday which is on Monday.

Keep my dad in your prayers. He is having problems with his knee and has to take three different medications. He also has had problems with his neck and bac for many years.

I usually post a quote each Saturday but yesterday I came across the words to this hymn and wanted to share it.

Thank You Lord, For Your Blessings On Me
Words and Music by The Easter Brothers

As the world looks upon me, as I struggle along
They say I have nothing, but they are so wrong
In my heart I’m rejoicing, how I wish they could see
Thank You Lord, for Your blessings on me

There’s a roof up above me
I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me Your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank You Lord, for Your blessings on me

Now I know I’m not wealthy, and these clothes , they’re not new
I don’t have much money, but Lord I have You
And that’s all that matters, though the world cannot see
Thank You Lord, for Your blessings on me

There’s a roof up above me
I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me Your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank You Lord, for Your blessings on me

For me today we wanted to get the grass cut. Our yard is a mess! All the rain, even though we need it, has kept us from cutting our grass when we got home from work every day. Wendy hope you have a great Saturday and Sunday. If it does not stop raining this morning, I may be cleaning out too. Getting ready to do my reading. This week has been hard reading but I have found a nugget every day. Hope everyone has a wonderful week-end.

Stephanie, I've been praying for you!

Jennifer Renee, I hope you have a fantastic trip! Thanks for sharing the day's number with me this week. I'd gotten off track. I like those lyrics, too - I'm going to look them up.

I liked today's reading. In Chapter 20 God describes how He's going to scatter the Israelites because of their disobedience, but that in His anger His strong arm will bring them back again, and that after that His people will recognize that He is Lord and will worship again on His holy mountain. I wondered: which mountain is that? I've missed that somehow. This section reminds me so much of the 'Last Jihad' books and I want to reread the 'Ezekiel Option' one while we're in this book!

Hope you're all having a great weekend! We're staying at home, too, and working hard to get things back in order before the school year begins on Wednesday. It IS nice just to hang out at home!

Lyn, thank you Friday for your updates on Kate and Stephanie. I too was unable to breastfeed and I cried many tears. My husband showed me that it was a blessing because he could share the burden on late night/early morning feedings and he could also bond with our daughters at this important time in their lives. Thank you Lori for sharing the Psalm prayer. It was perfect.

Teeny, heart-felt prayers go out to you this week. May God grant your doctors wisdom, discernment, and skill as they diagnose and prepare to perform surgery. May the Holy Spirit also fill you with peace and confidence of God's healing power for your body.

Jane from SC, I hear you; this has been some hard readings and it is hard to find a nugget. Congratulations on finding one every day! You go girl! Yesterday and today, I sat and prayed over the readings. I asked God to show me the applicability in my life today. As I prayed, I realized that God displayed His righteous anger to the Israelites; promising not to hold back and not to show pity. He gave chance after chance, but no more. He asks several times, "who has ever" (rejected their gods before) ..."do you intend to keep on" (doing evil. prostituting themselves, turning away)...? But the people still don't listen. They say it will never happen. They say the prophet speaks only in riddles, they say they want to be like the other nations around them. And it made God angry. And He did has He said He would. And He had the Prophet write the date; January 15 of the ninth year of King Jehoiachin's captivity (the footnotes even say this date can be checked with dates in surviving Babylonian records and accurately cross-referenced in to our modern day calendar). God wants this to be verifiable. God wants us to dig and see the truth. (cont.)

So how is this applicable to my life today? God became incarnate man in His Son Jesus Christ. He walked on earth among us. He modeled a Godly life for us. He loved us; He healed the sick, bound up the broken hearted, cared for the poor, and always refueled in the presence of the Father. He was utterly blameless. He preached that we need to love God above all else and love our neighbors as ourselves. He then allowed himself to be captured, tortured, and sentenced to a horrible death. He took on every sin from every person who ever lived or would ever live; Adolf Hitler, Genghis Kahn, Jeffrey Dahmer, Karen Walker... He became so disfigured, no-one could look at him. The goodness and holiness of God could not be in His presence and Turned AWAY! But the righteousness of God stayed. The humility of God was there, the power of God did not abandon the Son. He bore our sins, He who had none, and He died. By dying in our place, He paid our ransom. We will never be judged on the basis of our wicked actions. The fury of God will never be turned on us. He will never change his mind!

But look at us today. We are no different than the stiff-necked Israelites! We continue to say all the things they said back in 588 BC. We continue to turn to our idols and to sacrifice our children to our evil ways. God must be furious again. We have rejected more than the Law and the Prophets, we have rejected His ultimate sacrifice; His SON!

Oh Heavenly Father, I am heartily sorry for my sins. I have turned from you and I have allowed myself to be wooed by what others do and what others value. I have not loved my neighbor as myself. I have not reached out to help someone in need. I have not given you my burdens. I have not praised you for my blessings. I have not thanked you for dying for my sins and setting me free. Forgive me Lord. I don't want to be a stiff-necked child of yours! Have mercy on me. Turn me to You and show me how You want me to stand in the gap. Please don't let it be said of me that You searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall, but You found no-one. I pray for all my friends here, for my family, for my nation, for the sons and daughters of Christ everywhere, that we would faithfully follow You, standing in the gap and returning your people to your loving presence.

Amen

Hi everyone:

My family has been keeping me on my toes, but so far have kept up with my daily study - barely! My husband is having some health issues:

He started on Monday (8/16) with this cream to put on his face for many precancerous spots. He is very pale complexion. I guess it is chemo cream. The dermatologist said it takes 30 days, but excellent results. He has spots on his checks, and a few around his hairline. It burns on and off and the worst is apparently at the end of the 2nd week, where it gets blistery, and well, just not pretty. They are already bright red.

Also, he has terrible gall bladder discomfort, and they are making him go through a TON of tests, but in the end, his regular doctor thinks it needs to go, just waiting for the surgeon to call the shots. On the plus side, since this started and has escalated since Jan. - he is eating low fat and lost 35 lbs and his cholesterol dropped 50+ points!

AND, he got a job - which my husband is so excited about and it is an answer to prayer. We are praying that all these health issues come to a close before he starts, sometime soon in Sept.

On another note: Last night in bed I was reading today's lesson, and got to the story of the two sisters, Ezekiel 23, and girls (and guys), I just couldn't go on. It was just so gross. I am struggling to finish the OT, even though we are almost done. That an the sacrifice of the babies in the fire to idols. Having two grandbabies right now, especially, I don't know, it just pains me to read all this stuff.

Well, I guess I just feel better now that I poured my heart out to all of you in cyber space.

Wouldn't the enemy just love it if I stopped reading the Bible? Well, no way is he going to have a victory over me!

Thanks for listening....

Good evening-- I know I am posting late, but wanted to comment before the week begins again.

One of the common statements I noticed was that God held back his punishment from His people in order to "protect the honor of [His] name among nations." He stressed the honor of His name several times in the readings. This is important to Him-- that we too must honor and not shame His Holy Name.

The other thing that struck me was His anger. He was so threatening to His people through the prophets! The people, if they were to obey, did it out of fear of punishment. This is much like a child who obeys his father out of fear, when his judgment is not yet fully mature.
Compare this obedience from fear to the law of Jesus, who practiced love. As we form a relationship with our loving Father, we understand the joy and freedom that come from obedience out of love. We enjoy the fruits of grace, through the sacrifice of Jesus. He changed the relationship from a strong angry punishing God to our Abba Father.

Blessings tonight,
Jacque
