"This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me, "Take from my hand this cup filled with my anger..."
Jeremiah 25:1
Jeremiah 25:1
My Take Aways
Something Old:
I lived the lesson of of anger and my reaction to it as I recorded today's blog. God is so real and so personal. And might I add, in our business, my business all the time. Thank you God!!!
Something New:
Today's lesson connects beautifully to James 1:19-20:
"My dear brothers, take not of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires."
Something to Do:
- Pray up-stay close to the Lord asking Him to help you yield to His Spirit in all your actions, not just anger
- Pause- before you react. The old adage count to 10, or at least 5.
- Praise-praise God every time you live beyond yourself in your actions
Typical reactions yield a typical reach.
God honoring reactions produce a God-sized reach.

Dear ones,
I am running late today and I haven't had time to read or watch the vlog yet, but I wanted to share this YouTube video on a 92 year old lady who foiled a robbery attempt by ministering to the potential robber.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_R76gf67Bk&feature=player_embedded
I don't know when this happened, and the clip says it has gotten National attention, plus time on the Today show, so you may all already know this incredible story. Sorry if this is old news to you, but it was so inspiring to me!
This goes to what we learned yesterday, never be afraid to speak the word of God. Go boldly and humbly before Him and He will give you strength and protection! I am convicted...
See you all later after I read and view.

Good morning, GIGs,
Today my nugget jumped out right at the beginning of our reading, in Jeremiah 25:15-16. In the Catholic Mass, before Eucharist, the priest, speaking the words of Jesus at the Last Supper, says:
“Take this, all of you, and drink from it: for this is the cup of my Blood, the Blood of the new and everlasting covenant; which will be shed for you and for all so that sins will be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”
What a difference from the OT to the NT and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who invites us to share a cup that will bring forgiveness of sin, and not punishment!!
Wendy, your vlog was wonderful. Thank you for persevering once again on our behalf. You have mentioned before that you had to realign your thinking when you strengthened your Walk 13 years ago to make Him above the #1 way to meet your needs, and not the him you married. I have vaguely felt that myself over the years, but you really sharpened me on that concept, and firmed my resolve to realign my thinking accordingly. This has been one of the very important factors contributing to my “experiencing the real meaning of free.” When we depend on our husbands for more than they are equipped to give by God‘s design, it is having a false idol, which we know God forbids. I wish I had understood this concept when my children were growing up. However, I praise God that, through you Wendy, I now understand this as my husband and I get back to being a couple, with child rearing behind us.
Have a blessed, 4:8 day, all.
Peace and Gratitude,
Michelle in New England
Thank you for your great teaching today Wendy. As a young mother I was also guilty of sharing my cup of anger with my kids. But it was not healthy for me or for those around me. I learned that my reaction definitely could be for the good or for the bad, and I had a choice. And those times were the perfect teachable moments for my children, modeling for them self-control and the proper way to handle anger and forgiveness.
There has been a lot of anger in my workplace for the last two months, with one of the two doctors leaving in a week. It is so hard to not join into the negativity. I am trying hard to keep up a faithful attitude, that all this is for the good, but I don't yet see any good in it for me... except that I will be a stay at home mom. Yikes! I feel a bit like a hypocrite-- saying it will all turn out ok, but not feeling it in my heart. At best I am trying not to fan the flames! In the waiting.
Thank you God for Your Spirit which gives us the right words for every situation.
Michelle, that is an inspiration! The cup of forgiveness!! Thank you-- that just made it come full circle!
I would treasure your prayers as Michael starts a new chapter in his life today. Thank you.
Blessings and prayers,
Jacque
Morning FIG! Michelle...your connection to the cup of forgiveness....excellent! That point alone made my day.
Anger...how do I handle it? Well...I am getting better, with God's help. I was raised in a home with a very angry father, so hollering and cursing were a daily thing. Because of years of that, it was my natural reaction to anything that set me off. Not good! It definitely ruins your testimony. I have learned, thru walking with the Lord...that if I am prayed up, praised up, Bibled up, God can heal this area. I fail yet sometimes, but I then pick myself up and begin again. I also realize that when I exercise daily, this reduces alot of stress and I am more ready to take on the world.
I don't like the feel of an angry heart. I believe that anger can be an addiction, and if left unchecked it will go there.
Praise God for his patience and sense of humor...may I be more like Him each and everyday.
Morgen
Happy Thursday All,
Wendy, how do I deal with anger? Will be thinking more about this throughout today. Years ago…like you this was brought to my attention from a program that I needed to hear right at the appropriate time…..and yes my children did take a brunt from it also…..I than started to take a good long view of myself….started asking myself why I was angry? Took time meditating on this….God showed me in many areas anger is never any good.
Bible verses for today:
Jeremiah 45: 1-5, I was interested in the message for Baruch, It brought more sense to me after reading the footnote for it.
Footnote for 45:1-5 says: At the conclusion of his narrative, Baruch appends a prophecy given him personally by Jeremiah when he first wrote down Jeremiah’s words (cf chap. 36). The future revealed by the prophet had depressed Baruch; this prophecy was to assure him of his personal safety, while repeating the Lord’s determination to destroy Judah.
How would we be if our future was revealed to us? Pondering: And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not! I am bringing evil on all mankind, says the LORD, …..but your life I will leave you as booty, wherever you may go. (Jer 45:5)
Linda Ark….Praying for your friend Nancy.
Elizabeth….SAPed right away after reading your comment yesterday. How did you make out?
Susie WI…Your daughter Kate’s wedding sounded amazing and beautiful. Congradulations!! & Best Wishes for them.
Lori….Amazing testimony!!!!! Hold on to that picture you so beautifully described in your mind forever. Giving Him all the glory…..always so true so true.
Continued….
Michele…You are on my mind and in my prayers….Don’t be too hard on yourself….Would love to comment to you sometime about this…. “ As I've shared with you, I did require my two children to do the whole go to Mass and Sunday School routine, but neither of them are walking with the Lord right now as young adults, so maybe I should have done something differently when they were kids. (sigh)”….I taught CCD for 3 years at our church…. Just know you did the right thing. Could I say this and please, please do not take it the wrong way….You not going to church right now….Could this be telling your children something?….Michelle just because I care deeply for all of us….heartfelt string are attached.
Dixie….Praying for you and your daughter Lt. Laurie…You really are such a blessing.
Teeny…Thanks for the update on Sarah. Continue prayers for you and her.
Mary Dublin….WELCOME!!
G&P…Blessings Special Godmother to Jedidah….Meaning “Beloved By God” so precious. How did you make out. (((warm Hugs))) right now to you.
Jacque….I heard your laugh….sweet to my ears. Safe travel today to Michael’s graduation…Yes there will be many tears today….Have you folded in my praying hands today. You got a puppy….yes, to this too Jacque, great antidepressant therapy. “Chip” Michael I can see becoming very attached to Chip….will be great therapy for Him. Jacque his progress…So wonderful….Thanks for standing by Him. Knowing when to help and when not to. I will be continuing with Him and You special one in my prayers. Our dog therapy last night…..Last night after Dillon worked and we just got Brady home from baseball practice we went out on our back deck. Brady was eating a peanut butter & Jelly sandwich…. “Chance”…is the name of our dog sitting right beside him looking for some of that sandwich….Brady from a story His father told him one time of what they gave to there dog (plain peanut butter)….decided to try it on Chance. Gave her some of his sandwich so the peanut butter would stick to the top of her mouth. Well it did…you should of seen this dog just a licking the top of her mouth trying to get it…..Great therapy indeed!!
Okay all have a grocery shopping day today…cousin coming to stay with us….is playing baseball with Brady this weekend….don’t know if I will be having time…to comment. Baseball all weekend starting afternoon at 4. Might even slip in one last 5K Sat. morning….hubby really would like to….ballgame than Sat afternoon 4 again….Sunday might have 3 games.
Thanks to all and I definitely am praying for all.
Be Blessed,
Rhonda

Wendy, what a Wonderful lesson for today. This isn't to say that all your lessons aren't wonderful.
I've always said that I'm the way I am because that's how my mother was. My mother would get angry easily and throw things putting holes in the walls. I would get angry/frustrated and in my late teens I started throwing things or slamming doors to let out that anger/frustration. At the age of 20 I changed. I've never taken my anger out on others except once a few years ago. I was visiting my mother for a weekend and she was fussing with her boy friend (now husband) and I couldn't take it anymore. My mother has always been the type to argue. I boiled over and yelled "I should just go home" and walked out the house. I really couldn't go home I had no way. I would mostly turn my anger/frustration inward. I would try to physically hurt myself. I had stopped for several years but last year these actions to anger/frustration started up again. Hurting myself was a safe way to release those emotions that didn't hurt anyone but myself. My close friend who is a Christian counselor told me "If we direct our anger to the wrong places it does not help with the source of the anger".
Good morning sweet sisters,
I fell off the bandwagon for a little while, but God lovingly reminded me about the study again when He asked me to invite a young lady whom my husband works with to join us the other night. She is really seeking after God and I am praying that she checks this out and is as blessed and encouraged as I have been by participating and locking arms with each of you.
Wendy's video this morning affirmed a recent choice and made me smile. Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly every day Wendy.
What jumped out at me this morning was that the king's messengers told Baruch and Jeremiah to "hide!" Later in the same passage, it says that when the king called for their deaths, "The Lord had hidden them." As I prepare for a c-section delivery next week (Thursday August 12), I need the assurance that God is taking care of me through my doctor. Kailyn is breech, and I really wanted a vaginal birth, and I have had to adjust myself to the c-section and God has told me to trust Him no matter what the outcome. It seems silly, either way I'm going to be holding my precious baby very soon, but God knew this morning that I needed to be reminded that very often He does protect and take care of us through other people in our lives and their wisdom.
Blessings to you all!
Love,
Stephanie
Precious Michelle,
Just got done reading your comment. Oh Lord, I am right now asking what do you want me to say to you. Michelle, during my prayer time this morning. Did the Luminous Mysteries of the rosary and the last one: The Institution of the Eucharist....Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "take, eat; this is my body." Michelle you came to my mind right away and was on it the whole time until I finished that decade of "Hail Mary's"....Now reading your comment....Oh Michelle, yes dear sister every time we receive communion we are blessed and privleged. You got it girl... What a difference from the OT to the NT and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who invites us to share a cup that will bring forgiveness of sin, and not punishment!! He invites us every Sunday...come follow Me. Come Michelle...Come!!
Michelle I really do have to get going....but for some reason he had me stay...and tell you this. Love you.
Rhonda
Thank you Lori for that marvelous testimony. I felt like I was walking on the beach with you and God.
Jesus had righteous indignation which He poured out on the money changers, those making the temple a den of thieves.
I can't say my anger expressed is without sin. I'm easy going until my can gets full, then I empty it. Watch out.
In Jeremiah 45:1-5, Baruch is overwhelmed with trouble. Not only did he write the doom and gloom that Jeremiah received from God, he also read it to others, which got mad, very mad. Oh, all the hours his work took, cut up and burned. To beat all, he wrote it all again. I think I would have been a little preturbed, too.
The Lord told Baruch that He would give Baruch his life as a reward wherever he went. What a promise.
Is there another mention of Baruch later, or was his purpose fulfilled here?
Jeremiah 46:27 says Israel will return to a life of peace and quiet and no terroizing them.
Michelle, what a comparrison-cup of anger and cup of forgiveness by Jesus.
CAtch ya'll later.
Linda from Ark.
Oh, sweet Wendy, you brought smiles to my ‘ugly eyes’ this morning, a gift, God knew I needed to hear. I listened to your post, then headed out with Radar (dog) to do my morning prayer walk. And, as I pondered your teaching, God spoke to me through what you said. Your words, (Lysa’s words, smile) “my reactions affect my reach” --- I kept thinking about this and how it related to my current situation; which I hesitate to even bring up, because in the whole picture what I’m going through does not even begin to compare to many of the trials going on in many of your own lives right now. But, ya know I’ve grown to share my heart on this blog, so will share with you now what has taken place the past day in our home, and how, now - hopefully, God will get glory in my own situation.
Those of you who have been around, know I’m NOT a dog person. At all! Not one little bit. My 16 year old wanted a dog-beginning in first grade. I stayed firm, heals kicking, hands on my hip, not budging, one little bit. NO. NO. I would not waver. (oh, I was not walking with the LORD, as you can plainly see!) “I” thought, my plate was full enough. “I” knew who would take the brunt of the responsibilities! “I” was not going to let it happen. “I” knew my capabilities, and being a dog owner was not one of them. Wow, my selfish side is in clear view! Well, Connor (who is just like me, - we but heads at least once a day, smile) would not give up. After about 6 years, and as I was beginning my ‘closer’ walk with the Lord, I knew He was telling me to give in. So, in a weak moment I said, ok, we will begin looking for a dog. {thinking it would still not happen!} And, at the same time I pleaded, “Lord, help me, to do this. You know it is the last thing I want. If you want us to have a dog, bring one to us.” Well, sisters, He did. A dog was pretty much plopped into our hands, and it was the beginning of a precious love affair – this dog warmed our hearts’ – as only a dog can do! He was something different to each one of us. Daily, I would lift up praises, because I knew God gave me a dog that I could love. It was a total God-dog. I could not help but tell Dave, that this dog was an answer to my prayer. That, only by God’s grace could I love this dog. It was clear to Dave, that the impossible happened, and - he was the most surprised, at how the dog and I became so close. So, through this dog, I was able to talk about the Lord, not only to Dave, but to everyone else, because everyone that knows me knows that I’m not a dog-lover. Well, I am now! Any way, it’s been this precious little part of our family, that comes into my room, morning after morning, to nudge me to get up. He’s ready to begin pray walking, and through this activity, I have developed an intimate relationship with Jesus.
This morning as I was walking, God showed me how this little frisky fellow captivated my heart: “he loved me without condition!” (OH, HOW I WISH I COULD MAKE THAT BOLD! (You have one-upped me, twin, I still don’t get it! GP, are you rolling your eyes in exasperation at me! ha-ha) {I will not give up tho, eventually I will do it, you will see!}
This dog, greets me as I walk in the door, standing up on his hind little legs, and wagging his tail, like there is no tomorrow! He pours his love out to me at every opportunity! And, I heard God telling me this morning, “this my sweet daughter is what I have called you to do! This “reaction will affect your reach” in your circle of influence!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoa, dear ladies is that a God Moment, or what? Talk about Holy goosebumps and sweating at the same time! Our light WILL shine to those around us IF we are reacting (to be cont.)
according to the Holy Spirit guiding us. And, like you said Wendy, as we read His Word, we naturally do this as His Spirit speaks to us! He will get the glory when we do it right!
So, now getting to my whole point,-oh how I wish I had the ‘few words’ ability to write!
Yesterday, I found out that our precious little dog, has a cancerous sarcoma lump on his tummy. Talk about a heart being ripped open. Truly, I can’t imagine our life without him. He is my third (and many days) favorite child. Tomorrow morning, bright and early we will be doing a chest x-ray to see if it has spread to his lungs. If it has, there is nothing that can be done, but if it has not spread, then we can go ahead and do surgery next week to remove the lump. It is in God’s hands. But, what I heard God saying to me this morning is “yielding to His spirit in all your actions” May God get the glory through me as I help my family deal with this situation.
Thank you, sweet sisters for allowing me to share my heart with you all. I love you all dearly! Today, girlfriends, let’s seek to yield to the Holy Spirit, as He guides our words and actions. Shine Your glory, Lord, through each one of us! Help each one of us to further Your kingdom today. Jesus, I love you with all of my heart, with all of my soul, and with all of my body! Amen.
Hugs, Lori
My eye caught what it says in Jer 25:18: Those that drank from the cup of anger became: desolate ruins, objects of horror, full of contempt and cursing.
This is what anger does to us. I know people who could be described that way today because of their anger.
Lord, I want none of the above. Continue to wash my heart clean.
Morgen
Hey Everybody,
I am so excited as this is the first day in forever....that I have been able to do my study early. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! is all that I can say about God's Word today. I never thought of others having to drink from my cup of anger and wrath. I should have thought about that as I grew up around a lot of angry people, but I just knew that I didn't want that in my life....but it has been in my life, and my children and husband have had to drink of it.
Oh my!!!! Forgive me, Lord, for I have sinned against You in my anger, and I don't want to do it anymore. Thank You, Precious Lord, for Your Word that has been so graciously shared by Wendy. Your Word has opened my eyes and my heart to my handling of anger. Lord, You know that in so many instances, I have kept that anger to myself,BUT it was still there, and when I released that anger, Lord, I didn't realize the effect of the my reactions. Lord, thank You for forgiveness right now!!! Thank You, Lord, for Wendy sharing me that "MY HERITAGE IS IN JESUS CHRIST." You give me chills, dear Lord!!! Your Word in Jer. gives me chills of hope and reassurance, dear God, that Your Holy Spirit is my built-in mouth piece!!!! Lord, I thank You too that this scripture will be one that I will share with my loved ones as I ask them to also forgive me for my anger, and the best part of asking them to forgive me is that I can share Your Word and Your Wisdom in how You have again opened my eyes to this part of my life. Lord, You are so real to me every day, every hour, and I want my dear family to know Your Realness found in Your Word. Lord, don't let them wait until they are old like me to have that desire to know Your Word.Lord, thank you for Wendy and this time I have with you every day. I never knew that studying Your Word could and would make such a difference in me.... I know it's never too late to get our lives in order for You, but I sure did miss out on a lot, and I don't want that for my children. As they are new parents, I want them to use You in parenting; I want them to be obedient to Your Word so that they won't have to ask for forgiveness for anger when they are my age.!!!!! THank You,Abba Father, for your mercy and your grace in this matter. Amen and Amen!!!
GIGS, I am having church again this morning!!!!! ;) Thank You, Lord!!!!
What an awesome God we serve,
Jeanne,NC
Wendy, thank you for persevering to speak face-to-face with us today. This word on anger reminded me that many times my children when they were small took the brunt of my anger. They were innocent victims of the stress I was experiencing with my husband. At the time, we did not know what caused his mood swings. It was after our divorce that he was diagnosed as manic depressive. Through all of this, I came closer to the Lord, desiring His desires for me and wanting to refect His Light within me. Suddenly anger was lifted, praise God. My one desire is to be pleasing in His sight and walk daily the path He sets before me. Thank you, Wendy, for your openness and all of you, my sisters.
Michelle, the cup of forgiveness of Jesus brought the song "Fill my Cup, Lord" to mind and I began humming it.
Elizabeth, how did your interview go? Praying that if this is where the Lord sends you that the job is yours.
Praying for all of your requests. Especially for Nancy, Chuck, precious Dixie and her daughter, and Linda.
Jacque, may today be just another step in the Lord's hand on Michael's life. Bless you and take plenty of tissues for I know you will shed tears of JOY.
My heart is so full of God's goodness that I am over-joyed today. May each of you have a special time with Him today.
Love ya'll, Teeny
Wendy...Thank you so much for your vlog this morning...You spoke about "inheriting" your tendencies to anger. In our family we inherited a tendency to addictions...many kinds. Some of us, with God's help have avoided the temptations, but not all of us...Only God, the Holy Spirit has kept me from continuing in addictive behavior...Praise His Holy Name!!! Thank you again for being so open and honest with your situation...
2 things today...Jer 36...God is still trying to save Judah (using Jeremiah and Baruch...
Then at 46:27 - 28...He tells them He will bring them home again from distant lands..."I will discipline you, but with justice...I cannot let you go unpunished".
It sounds like a loving parent who knows his child need discipline but it's going to hurt him more than the child...He is so good.
Have a blessed day
Sue
Thank you so much, Wendy for today's vlog and sharing so much of your own story about handling anger. I wasn't even focusing on this in today's reading, but OH, how needed this today! I can sooo relate. In fact, I wish I could say this story is "past tense" for me, but I'm afraid not. I have been so frustrated, overwhelmed, short-tempered and just have not been reacting in a God-honoring way in my home with my two boys (ages 5 and 2.5yrs) or my husband.
I've let my frustrations with daily life (sibling rivalry and frequent squabbling, as well as other daily challenges) get the best of me.
I won't make excuses or try to place blame elsewhere - as you said Wendy, it's how we respond to circumstances that we are responsible for. Though we may have legitimate reasons for feeling anger and there may be circumstances out of our control, it's how we handle these events that needs to honor God.
I must, must stayed prayed up throughout the day in order to react better, to hear God's Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide me through the challenging times of my day. I'm also realizing I must do more to take care of myself so that I can be a better mom and wife. Not getting enough alone/me time lately and it definitely shows!
I would so appreciate prayer in this area!
Praise God, Wendy that you persevered through your frustrating situation with the vlog...and I know the result certainly honors our Lord and is having a God-sized reach. It has certainly reached me, and I'm ready to give Him the praise today as I better handle my anger/reactions today!
Have a great day everyone!
Jodi
Sorry to post again...but forgot to check the email box to receive everyone's emails for today's post.
If there's another way to receive the emails without having to repost or post at all, can someone let me know?
thanks!

Wendy,
Bulls-eye on me again today. This is EXACTLY the lesson I needed to hear today. It is devine intervention in my life. Wow!!
Thank you big time.
Sheila Payne
Michelle and Jacque, thank you for your tender prayers for me yesterday. As you know I was kinda weepy before I headed out there and was dreading the visit. On top of that they moved the maternity ward on the other end of Oncology so having to go to the same floor was unsettling, but once I saw baby Jedidiah, oh my. My friend had to go through 3 years on infertility treatment, miscarriage and a very difficult pregnancy to get to this point. To see God's miracle in the flesh was just overwhelming. I was so excited, I forgot all about the bad memories and I told her I was coming back again today. On the way out, I lingered by ICU entrance and noticed they installed a water fountain, new seating and new grass. Things have changed. There was still a twinge of hurt that will probably never go away but at least I'm not scared of a hospital anymore. Thank you for your prayers.
Stephanie, my friend who had baby Jedidiah had an emergency C-section. Less than 24 hours later when I visited her, she was standing up and looks none worse for the wear. I pray that yours will go as smoothly, too.
Lori, I am so sorry about Radar's diagnosis. I don't even know what to say... ((((HUGS))))
Rhonda, your weekend is busy. I can't imagine having to squeeze a 5K run in between those other activities. My big plan for the weekend is to finish the borrowed book I'm reading before it disappears off my Nook.
I relate with all of you re the children getting the brunt of the cup of anger. My natural impatience + PMS is not a good combo. Granted that time of the month tends to exacerbate our emotions but I really should not use it anymore. One of my classmates in KI shared this and I can't remember if I have posted it here already or not.
"But it’s the make war attitude toward Sin is what we are lacking we are to treat sin like the enemy not like something we have to live with."
Light bulb moment!
I don't know what percentage of Christians live with this mindset but I'm guessing pretty high. It's a lie from the enemy that we have resigned ourselves that sin will always be there so we might as well live with it. While part of it may be true (again, another tactic of the enemy, leave enough truth to spin the lie) because our sin nature will always be with us until Jesus calls us home, BUT we don't have to let sin have it's way all the time! Or treat it like an old aunt that we have to tiptoe around and not get it upset. I for, one, need to take a more war-like stance against sin. It could start as small as "No, you may not have another chocolate fudge brownie" or "No, you are NOT sleeping in, you will get up and have your quiet time with God." Small steps, yes, but who knows what it could lead to?
Something to think about.
Have a blessed day everyone!
Karen,
Thank you for that link. I thought it was the same one that I saw on tv but the one I saw involved a bank teller and a robber. (I was wondering why a 92 year old woman would still be working at a bank.) Anyway, she (and you) really blessed my heart today and to top it off, she looks like my late grandma.
Oh, Wendy how today's vlog will have me understanding so much. I struggle with having my husband provide me with so much which in reality only God can provide. As my kids are growing and leaving the home, I hear from them less and less. I have felt so lonely. My husband who gets up at 4:30-5 AM goes to bed so early, while I who stay up until 1-2 AM miss the company of my husband.
I am slow to anger, but still I get angry.
I am changing my focus to be on the Lord who is always with me.
My youngest 2 children now late teens and early adults are quick to anger. My husband has always been quick to anger.
I pray to the Lord for help from the Holy Spirit so that I can show these 2 youngest kids and husband the importance of James verse.
I am also praying for everyone who has asked for prayers on the list. Those who have struggles in their lives and those who are having struggles with health.

This is amazing. I have been angry for the past few days and I say it is not my fault. PMS anyone?! God please help me to deal with these emotions and control myself. Please forgive me God and show me the better way. Praise God for loving me no matter what.
Thank you Wendy for what you are doing. It truly blessed me today. Now I must go and apologize to my 5 year old daughter for yelling at her. I am so glad God forgives and my daughter forgives. :)
I haven't commented in a while but I have been keeping up on my readings and the blog. Everyone's comments and input have been such a blessing to me.
Lori-your testimony made me so emotional and your daily input so often reflects my own journey. Thanks.
Jacque- I am praying for Michael. He has come so far and I am sure you would love to put him in a bubble to keep him on the road to recovery. Oh dear Lord Jesus, how we love our babies!
I am praying for everyone's request.
Today's lesson really made me stop and thing about my reactions to everything...in anger or otherwise. I pray I my reactions honor God so I can have a God-size reach especially when it comes to parenting a teenager.
Wendy - thanks for being so personal and open. It makes me feel normal.

Wow Wendy, I was touched and blessed that you mentioned my message in your Vlog today. Nothing makes me smile more than to know the message God entrusted to me was taken to heart by someone.
You are gifted sweet friend. It was fun to sit under your teaching today.
Rhonda, I have “known” you long enough to know that you have a wonderful heart and care deeply for all of us here, so I took your comments just as they were intended - to make me think and to “sharpen” me! We must have been having a “oneness of Spirit” across many miles this morning [smile]. I can tell from your posts that you belong to a wonderful Catholic Church.
One of the things I’ve been pondering lately is my Catholicism. Parts of the liturgy and songs come into my head a lot. God definitely has me pondering what my future holds in terms of church attendance, but I have no answers yet. I, my children and my husband were wounded very badly by the clergy sexual abuse of children and the decades-long cover-up by the Archdiocese here. I believe my current practice over the last couple of years of reading my Bible daily, sprinkling in some God talk where I can, participating in this study and leaving my other spiritual reading around where they can see it will show my family that they could also have a direct relationship with God if they choose to. Little by little, I hope to move them all to reconnect with the Lord. All in God’s time. Thank you for your comments, and your caring. I value your words very much!
(to be continued)
Stephanie, great to hear from you! "Fear not" about a C-Section. I had two, and the second was by choice. I was bummed out about the first emergency one, but later I really chided myself on the wasted energy that was! Trust God on this!
Lori, my heart goes out to you about Radar, and my prayers will be for him to be able to have surgery.
Jacque, I have been picturing Michael coming home to his cleaned-up, fixed-up room and his new puppy. Let us pray confidently that your heart's desire will be given to you, and that everything "will turn out okay" at work and home.
Elizabeth, still SAPing for your job prospect.
Jessica, where are ya?
G&P, what a happy time for you and your friend. Enjoy this wonderful time!! Nothing like brand new motherhood. Remember?
Peace and Gratitude,
Michelle in New England
Wendy - thank you for your perseverance and honesty. One of the main messages I took home from She Speaks was "watch your reaction, it affects your reach." Lysa's talk hit my heart like a freight train (and you just confirmed it again for me -so thanks). Also that ministry is 24/7 and we have no greater calling than our families. How often I use my pain issues and lack of sleep as an excuse to be cranky/snarky/angry with my husband and son. How sad that I haven't reserved my best but what's left of me for them...
At the conference I purchased Melanie Chitwood's book "What a Husband Needs from His Wife." It talks about the issue of the impossible expectations we put on our husbands and how to start making changes. I am really learning a lot!
Lord - thank you for showing me that my family is my first and most important "reach." Help mold me into the Godly wife and mother You designed me to be.
Blessings friends,
Jodie
ps I see there is another Jodi posting, I will add from Ottawa so you know it's me (with baby Elliot).
Sweet Sisters,
I just wanted to stop in and ask for your prayers. I am in a spiritual struggle right now. I am trying to catch up on everyone's comments and will post as I restart from 7/29.
Blessings
Jessica
Well, I have read the comments and passage from 7/29.
Teeny--Thank you for your comments about serving/teaching in the church. I have noted the verses that you referenced and will keep referring to them as I prepare to teach my 1st and 2nd graders.
Grace and Peace===Was struck by your reference to Romans 12:9-12 and the fact that God won't tell us what those unrevealed things are until we do the revealed will of God. I am praying that God helps do those revealed things and not focus on the unrevealed.
I also appreciated the comment from Jon Courson that read "the Lord does not ask us to be successful. He asks us to be faithful".
I was moved in the 7/31 reading by Jeremiah 5:22 "Have you no respect for me?" I wrote in my notebook : Do I respect Him or do I take Him for granted. If I am truthful I would have to say "I take Him for granted". I know He loves me and I just assume that whatever I do that love will not change. I respect Him when I need something--i.e I use Him--but when the need is met I go back to my usual ways. God is not a toy to be pulled out only when we are lonely or sad. He is not a tool to only be pulled out when something is broken. He is our Abba and as such deserves respect"
Thank you for continued prayers GIG's. This is spirtual warfare and I am in the valley right now trying to climb to the mountain top. Your daily posts inspire me and often are the catalyst that I need to keep pushing onward and upward.
Blessings
Jessica
