In today's reading I liked what Jon Courson said about Josiah.
"In the life of Josiah, we see the reason for revival, the road to revival and the result of revival.
"Revival is what every one of us longs for in some way. If your own heart is dry you need a personal revival. If your children aren't walking with the Lord in the way you know they should, your family needs revival. If your workplace is an atmosphere of ungodliness & carnality your colleagues need revival. Our God is the God of continual revival. And He wants to revive.
"What is the reason for revival? One eight year old boy who is totally in love with the Lord. And in him, the Lord has a base fr which He could work. The reason for revival is found in one individual going all out for the things of God. As you study history and read of revivals you will find without exception that they begin with one individual excited about the Lord. All it takes is one.
"Revival doesn't begin by praying for your husband.... or your boss. It begins when you get on your face before the Lord and say, "Let it begin with me." (p. 1085, Jon Courson's Life Application Commentary OT, vol 1)
If you read Bethany's post yesterday, I think you'd agree with me that's a revival in the making. May we all be on fire for our LORD. And may we be like the disciples as mentioned in Acts 17:6 "who "turned the world upside down."

Happy Saturday all. I've been enjoying our readings but I haven't commented much on it because I can't seem to put my thoughts into words like the rest of you seem to do so well.
Wendy how exciting to be able to meet Tina and Danielle. I'm looking forward to Lori coming back from her vacation. I really miss her.
I'm still praying for everyone at She Speaks along with every prayer request. I pray for those who are facing medical issues and sickness and for those who are looking for jobs. God promised to supply all our needs according to his riches in glory.

Revival! I even like the sound of that word. I definitely feel revived this year. My faith was like a trickling stream until I joined this study on January 1, and now it feels like a rushing river. Thank you, Lord, for directing my steps to this place.

Jennifer Renee, it's good to hear from you, and good to know you have been reading along, despite the headache which I trust has abated. This may sound selfish, but may I request that you do a short post each day just so we know you are okay? If you don't feel up to responding about the reading, perhaps you could just share with us a prayer that you are saying for someone. That would amplify your praying efforts, because then each one of us who reads it prays along with you for that person. Do I hear a second on this motion, friends?
As I completed today's reading, I think I actually shuddered to think about what would be coming, after Josiah's death! My nugget for today:

Lord, I [Michelle] live in awe of You. I am in awe of your magnificent creation all around me, the provision you have bestowed on me and my family, the promises you make and keep, the blessed sisterhood you have brought into my life, and the Holy Spirit you send to dwell in us 24/7. Thank you for "rain" and "harvest" in all the many forms you send it. In Jesus' name, I pray that I may honor you today and every day with my thoughts, my conversation, and my conduct, Amen.

Just quickly posting before I head out to the field again. Thanks G&P for your input on Thursday. I have been meditating on those scriptures while I am driving, and recognize that I need to work harder on the revealed will of God first. Thank you so much for that bit of advice, I even shared it with my hubby, Right off the bat I see where improvements need to be made! Always so much to learn, but also to put into practice.
Amy, you definitely are the Canning Queen! Enjoy having the kiddies home again.
Dixie, you make me smile. Even though you are going through a difficult time, your perspective is so good. Prayers, sister!

Hey Everyone! We arrived back in town early Thursday morning… It’s been a treat listening to sweet Wendy and reading up on all the missed posts, the past couple of days! Happy, happy day to return to you all! I missed ya’ll so, so, so much. (!!!) { BIG HUGS to each one of you!!!} {{{MORE HUGS}}} Thank you, Lord for bringing us all together. What a HUGE blessing it is, to be apart of this group of Believer’s! To be surrounded by women who are seeking to know God more. To be surrounded by girlfriends who turn me to Your Truth, daily!
A couple of things that I learned more so while I was away were just how important it is to be centered around Believer’s-daily! I was able to have my quiet time each day, but I totally missed the part of ‘sharing His goodness’ --- “and all the more as we see the Day approaching” (Heb. 10:25). This is something God desires of us: to talk about Him with those around us - to share His glory. I did not feel lead to, outwardly talk about God, with my unsaved husband – I anticipated moments to do this, but just was not lead to open my mouth! I know God will open up moments to do this in His time, but in the meantime, all I can pass over to Dave, is my love.
While away I saw God’s glory all around me. He showed me that this truly is what satisfies us! Seeing His glory and sharing it –that is what we are to do, daily. Nothing in life will satisfy us except for Him. We can keep looking, but will never be filled up. Only God can satisfy our needs.
I was swept away with God’s beautiful creation. I saw first-hand His glory. It was an eye-opening experience, too, knowing that His glory all around us is where our true satisfaction in life comes from! What a God we serve, sweet ladies! Not only does he give us a beautiful creation to lay our eyes on, but he performs miracles in our daily lives, at the same time! We have so much to be thankful for and we have so many reasons to lift up our praises to Him.
He also showed me that when we take away the distractions, He is there to show us Himself. We live in a very busy world. It’s very easy to lose our focus, and allow the enemy to attack. The devil, I’d say, is doing a fine job at keeping everyone quite busy! The time away from TV and tech was an enriching experience for our family. It’a amazing how much more communication takes place without all the gadgets! Also, it’s much easier to ‘see’ the glory of God when our eyes are not ‘focused on a screen!’
His glory is what satisfies us dear friends! His Holy Word came alive to me: “for I have made [you] for my glory” (Isaiah 43:7 – July 23). This, sisters is why He created us – to give Him the glory. He created us for a specific purpose in life and that is how we are satisfied! If we would live our days to give Him the glory – we would be satisfied! What a GOD MOMENT! It’s not the stuff, the things, it’s Him.
A special sister-friend emailed me yesterday two verses – another ah-ha moment, or rather God Moment, for sure: Psalm 29:2 (NKJV) Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Oh dear sisters’…God’s Word is alive! God is in His beautiful creation all around us!

Never underestimate your worth and what you do, sweet Franny. You are meaningful to God. Praying for you to be a light to Dylan’s girlfriend. The more we pray for those we do not naturally love, the more we are able to see them through God’s eyes. As we become the hands and feet of Jesus, they begin to respond to His love coming out of us.

God sobs over the spiritually blind, and deaf, for His sole desire is for us to draw those around us to the “Highway of Holiness” (Isaiah 35:8). Sweet Loice, the ‘revelation’ that you spoke of, is my heart’s desire. Jesus has placed this desire on my heart, - thank you Lord! Now, I’m praying for the ‘now how’ to do it, like you mentioned. I’ve got the zeal, but am so wanting the boldness that Paul had!
Girls, truly, there is a power far greater on our side! (2 Chron. 32:7) Do we believe? Truly, do we trust God? Are we even tapping into this power within? For many days in a row God spoke to me regarding the power indwelling in me. The free gift He placed inside me. The power that allowed Paul to speak boldly. The power that let Paul “persuasively talk about the kingdom of God” (19:8) to everyone he came into contact with.
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16).
“But the LORD says, “now I will stand up, Now I will show my power and might” (Isaiah 33:10). Clearly, the power of His right arm was shown to me right before my eyes! All I could think of was, “Look at what the Lord has done!”
But as for me, I am filled with power-with the Spirit of the LORD” (Micah 3:8).
Can Paul’s words be my own? “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Tim. 4:6-7). May I live daily in victory, - unceasingly faithful to You dear Father? It is my true hope that one day dear Lord, You may say, “well done” precious daughter of mine!
Girlfriend’s ~ it’s a privilege to praying for one another’s needs and celebrating the victories God provides surrounds us with! May we lift up thanks and praises to our Father all day long! Ahh, it’s good to be back amongst ya’ll – truly, it is!

Happy Last Day of July!
Today we read about Jeremiah and how he is faithful even tho most people around him are choosing to ignore God. I’m sure most prophets were too nervous to talk openly against the sins that were prevalent during these years. Greed and coveting was rampant (sounds like today’s world): “their lives are ruled by greed…they are all frauds” (Jer. 6:13). As more and more people ignored God’s Word, they fell back into captivity. How sad, and how true today, - history repeating itself right in front of our eyes.
God, desperately was trying to get their attention: “Listen, you foolish and senseless people, with eyes that do not see and ears that do not hear” (5:21). “their ears are closed, and they cannot hear” (6:10). “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, though seeing, they may not see; though hearing , they may not understand” (Luke 8:10). Those of us on God’s straight and narrow path, hear Him. We recognize the devil when he comes near us. The less we stay in God’s Word tho, the less we ‘hear him’ and the more we blend in to the world around us. And, after awhile, the sin takes ahold of us and we are hooked right in!
What are the two sins God detests?
• *the rejection of the Word
• *the worshiping of idols
For so many years I attended church weekly, even served – but never spent time reading His Word daily. The Lord in His mercy drew me to His Word, and I am forever grateful! Many Christians do not read their Bible’s, - it’s easy to see how people over time are drawn into apostasy. It is never planned, and most surely it’s not our intention; but, most definitely, it’s well-planned-out by you know who: yes, the devil himself!
What a delight to our Father as He sees us reading and studying His Word together each day – and what joy He gives us as we wake up seeking to learn more about Him. As we continue to read His Word daily, our faith is built up, which allows us to pray and ask in faith (Romans 10:17). Thank you, dear Lord, for your precious Word!

Having been in budget/execution of funds, I was struck by the honesty and trustworthiness of the supervisors, who didn't have to account for the money spent to restore the Temple of the Lord.

Jer 6:13 "From the least to the greatest, their lives are ruled by greed". Yikes! He not only is describing Isreal back then; he (sadly) more than describes us today. I can see why God is disgusted.
Jer 6:15: "Are they ashamed of their disgusting actions? Not at all- they don't even know how to blush!"....again...look at America today...what we can view people doing on TV, in magazines, in movies, heck we even see such crap in schools, bars, any public places now. I thank the Lord that He saved me and His Word teaches me how to live. The day is coming for all to know the truth. God has good reason to bring disaster on the people...He is so Holy and we are so selfish and greedy and sinful. What a Mighty God we serve.

Spending time in the Word, prayer, draws me closer to my Lord. Many years ago while crying out to Him, Lord, What is my purpose? I was drawn to Phil. 3:10-11 10.[For my determined purpose is]that I may know Him--that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding [the wonders of His Person] more strongly and more clearly. And that I may in that same way come to know the power overflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers]; and that I may so share His sufferings as to be transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, the hope] 11. That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body]. Amplified

You who have been on trips have recently attested to his awesome creation. I am so lucky to have awesome surrounds - including in the front yard a 70 foot high Gumbo Limbo tree. If you are not familiar, it has reddish bark that peels so we refer to it as "the tourist tree". See what you can learn in Bible study online????
Anyway, some day the Bible says it will clap in joy! I can't wait!
I went to Oncology yesterday to discuss treatment plans after surgery. Monday I meet with surgeon to schedule a date for surgery. After surgery, if two conditions are met I am a perfect candidate for Mammosite radiation therapy because of my age. First the site must not be larger than they think. Second my lymph node must be negative. If so, I will have radiation for 5 days, twice a day thru a catheter and balloon which has a "seed" placed in it during radiation. The catheter will be open to the surface so no showers or swimming for those days.
Ain't modern medicine wonderful?
So I leave you now to take a dip while I still can and sing praises to his awesome creation. Well actually not singing - that would bring back the headache to Jen Ren.

I have a prayer request for some sweet friends that we have not seen in so long. Through God's mercy, George has found out that he has a carcinoid tumor growing in the bottom lobe of his lung probably at least for 5 years undetected. He will be operated on this Wednesday. Please pray that the tumor is contained and for God's peace and strength to surround him and his wife, Angela.

I am so behind in my readings again, and I feel like I shouldn't even comment if I'm not caught up! I have scattered bookmarks in my bible, marking missing days, in order to fulfill my commitment to myself this year-- but I won't give up!
July is my husband's vacation month, and although it's been no vacation for us (LOL), he is home ALL the time... hmmm. So I try to sneak you all in when he is sleeping or busy with a project! I do want to be more available to him this month. I miss taking my time to post, as I have lots in my head, but anyway all of you are so faithful with your rich contributions, you keep my spirit full-- thank you, thank you!
As we all participate together in the journeys of our friends like Dixie and Linda, we are forming our own army of prayer warriors. I have donned my armor for all of you, and we can continue to storm heaven for God's healing and peace and for each and every one of the spoken and unspoken needs in our spiritual community. Dixie, your tentative plan sounds amazing. Soak up a little Florida sunshine and do some splashing around for me today!
Thank you for remembering Michael in your prayers. Through your faithfulness and God's powerful work, he is a changed young man. The counseling he has received is helping him to look with hope to a new life and a new future. He is goal oriented now. He wants to complete 90 AA meetings in 90 days. He's met good new friends who will be attending these meetings as well, and has a sponsor set up. He has had job counseling and will continue to get this support until he gets settled in a job when he moves home. He's asked us to help him be accountable with his time and activities, and has asked us for help in setting up a budget to keep track of his finances, with goals of getting a vehicle and finishing his business degree.
But best of all, Michael has such new-found confidence in his life! And I have faith that God will slowly continue to transform his spirit as well. If you only knew how grateful our family is for your precious encouragement and spiritual support! This study was God's plan for me to connect with you, the instruments of prayer who helped change our son's life! And I have been placed here to support and pray for you as well. How awesome and generous is our God to bestow such blessed friends!
I wish I could comment on all of you special people, because I carry you in my heart and touch your names and add your intentions every day. But Bethany, I have had your name in my prayerwork for so long, and today I added the word "passion" to it in the colors of fire! I loved your post.
And dear Anonymous from last eve, this is what I recently told my son: sometimes it is easier to talk to strangers about important things because they don't know our past and they don't judge, they can only take us in the moment. We can be truly honest-- there is freedom in speaking with open hearts. So I understand, and hope you will continue to share your beautiful insights and open heart with us!

Lori welcome back!!! I know what you mean about not being able to talk about God with unsaved family. Sometimes I'm uncomfortable talking about God with family members who do believe. If I get a chance to talk to people from church or other friends there are many times when I just simply don't know what to say. In the speaking department I feel a little like Moses. I don't stutter but I don't know what to say or how to respond to others remarks.
Michelle I'll do my best to comment every day.
Dixie go ahead and sing all you want. God said to make a joyful noise and if we're singing praises and worshiping him no matter how we think we sound it's sweet to his ears. God never said we had to sing in perfect pitch. Smile.
Oh my goodness, friends, I have just read all the posts after mine, after spending a long day with Denise, and my heart feels about ready to burst with joy. I truly LOVE this sisterhood and all of you. Wendy girl, LOOK WHAT GOD HAS DONE, ALL BECAUSE YOU WERE OBEDIENT!! Yes, it's all in caps because I am shouting...shouting my praise to our mighty God and those who DO listen to His word, try to obey Him, and love one another as He loves us!!!

style with this Bible study. I truly was LOL ing when I read that comment.
Well, time to get supper underway. It was a bit draining to be with my sister today, as she seems to not have made much progress since I saw her Tuesday, and in some ways was worse. But reading all your posts has refilled my tank, so to speak, and I thank you all for that.
Lord, I pray in Jesus' name that you would grant each woman in this sisterhood her heart's desire, because Lord, we truly delight in you. (Psalm 37:4)

As I read my devotion this morning, Dixie you popped in my thoughts. The devo was centered around our attitude. When we focus our actions on serving God, we begin to develop an eternal perspective about our life. It just changes the way we look at our situations. A statement read, keeps me pondering: “Life is more about how you react to your circumstances than what actually happens to you. Your attitude makes the difference between being content and happy or discontent and miserable.” Wow! Dixie, you sweet pea, are a role model to the rest of us!!! Keep us posted to the date, and we will begin praying for the site to be smallish, and for the lymph nodes to be negative.
Your singing comment brought me a smile! I guess you could say we share our singing talent –or lack of, you could say! I’m going to have to look up “gumbo limbo tree"!
Karen, will pray for your dear friend, Fred. Let us know how the surgery goes on Wednesday.
Aahh, Jacque - (can’t believe I misspelled your name! A couple of weeks off, and my memory went out the window!) What a praise report to read about Michael’s progress this past month! Thank you, dear Lord. Will continue to pray that God will fill him up with His passion and desire for the direction his life is to take. For encouraging Believer’s to be sprinkled all along his path. For open and encouraging communication between him and those placed around him.
Now sweet Jacque, your Bible is driving me nutso, as I can just imagine the stress it would be causing me! smile…how about, just this time, taking all of those little pieces of paper o u t !!! Put your book mark on August 1st. Forget the past and think about today! God’s grace surrounds you, sweetie! Your plate is over-flowing. It’s not like you’re going to give up on reading the Bible! You’ll hit the missed pages next year! Smile! I know exactly how you feel about sneaking in on the computer! Luckily, for me my boy’s have been busy catching up on socializing with their friends, and poor Dave is playing catch up at work…but, when they are home I’m off the computer. How do I even begin to explain ‘divine friendships’ with my hubby who is not even saved! He’d never get it, just like I’d never want my son’s to spend time chatting with people they have not met in person. They know I’m doing an on-line Bible Study, and I do spend time talking about it, but I’m careful not to over-do it when they are home. I felt God telling me to use my time to be with them more when they are at home, that is why I usually post so early. Anyway, you pop in when you can-it’s always a bonus for us!
But, we all gotta remember: God, Hubby, Kids, extended family (yikes!), face-to-face friends, then, GIG’s smile!
Michelle, this group makes me want to burst with joy, too, and I do believe it’s God’s sweetness to us. It gives us that extra strength to serve our extended family in love! His love! I’m sorry to hear about Denese. We will keep her in my prayer’s.
Amy, I can just picture ya’ll off, beginning your big trip! May you all enjoy many blessings and memories as God shines down His love over you all.

Lori, I was really thirsty for about 45,000 words from you. It is like a drink of cool cool water after being in need. We did ok without you, but love it now that you are posting again, and again, and.......keep it up.
Jen Ren, I also am concerned when you do not post. So just a couple of lines will do. What day this is in the year, what the weather is, don't care. (You are the only one I would tell that to. But you are really special.)
Posting and reading them are the highlights of my day also. It helps since I live alone. I thank God always for you (and your words.)
6:17. I relate that one of my grown children saying "no we won't pay attention to you." That would hurt beyond anything I could imagine. It seemed to me to be the climax of all our MAKER was trying to say. Because then I imagine that He raised His already booming voice and was yelling. "Listen to this, watch me now, Take note of MY people's situation. Listen all the rest of you - all the earth. I AM GOING TO BRING DISASTER ON MY PEOPLE. IT IS THEIR FAULT, BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME. THEY SPIT IN MY FACE. And you can't come crawling to me asking for me to change my mind. Just the smell of you makes me sick." Then fastforward to the end of today's reading....."you were sorry and humbled yourself before me when you heard my words against this city and the people. You humbled yourself and tore you clothing in despair and wept before me in repentence. And I have heard you. So I will not send the promised disaster until after you have died and been buried in peace. You yourself will not see the disaster I am going to bring on the city and its people later."
How in all that is Heavenly can I hold a grude against anyone, no matter what they have done to me. How many times have I caused God to be hurt by my actions, and not acting as He has told me to do. He mainly wants me to communicate with Him by reading His word. And the hardest part for me, I still have a good case of ADD, is to BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD. I want to run ahead .........
Thank you Lord for promising me that you will never give up on me. Thank you for this group of your people to encourage and care for me. Your hand is on the group, there are so many different gifts that you have given us that makes it so that there is always someone that understands and able to encourage us. What a wonderful LORD you are.

I had never noticed before the prophetess Huldah (from 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles). It made me curious and I went to Biblegateway and did a word search on "prophetess" and journaled the results of the named and un-named ones.

Donna in TX thank you for saying I'm real special. Your words started to bring tears to my eyes. I'm always amazed when I feel like the people who care about me the most and who I feel are real friends are the ones who I've never met but who I communicate with through this blog or email. I know plenty of people from church who I'd call a friend but they never call or email to see how I'm doing even when they say they'll call so we can get together. Although, I haven't called them either so I can't put it all on them. However, I feel like if I were to go out with a friend from church, like shopping like I've done in past years, I would need help finding things and it might feel less like a outing but more like a burden to that friend. I should mention to my friend who keeps saying we should get together and do something about how I feel. She tells me in church that we should do something but it doesn't happen.
I do have my spiritual mom and our two best friends who I've seen at least twice since last September and they love and care about me very much but again I communicate with them more than people at church.
Lord, I thank you for this wonderful group of women who love you and love each other. I thank you for all their prayers and their encouragement. I thank you for the way they all share thoughts about your word. Keep each one in a special way and give them the desires of their heart. I thank you for their positive outlook when faced with tests and trials. I lift each one of them up into your healing hands. Amen.

We claim and believe that You are energizing Your word so that it will not return to You empty but will accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You sent it. Please take the words we read and sow them deep into oru otherwise deceptive hearts and subconscious minds. Remind us with each word we read the question from Jeremiah 23:29 - Is not my word like fire?
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Your Holy Spirit and Your Word that is active and alive within each of us! Thank You for the words of Beth Moore as she states, The consuming fire of our God blazes within us bringing supernatural energy, glorious activity and pure and unadulterated power. May we be strong in the Lord and Your might power this day!
Jeremiah 6:2 jumped out at me yesterday: Oh, Jerusalem,(Bethany), you are my beautiful and delicate daughter, but I will destroy you....He sees our sins and wayward hearts yet He still calls us beautiful and delicate! He warns us and tries to prepare us for attacks of the enemy! Give us ears to hear and eyes to see, Lord! Let us say from our hearts - Let us live in awe of the Lord Our God!
Jeremiah 6:16- Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way and walk in it. Travel its path and you will find rest for your souls! May we all STOP today and look around! Let God awe us with His wonders big and small, visible and invisible! May we find rest for our souls as Your consuming fire blazes within each of us and we LET You be are strength this day for whatever You have called us to do for You work for the good of those who love You!
King Josiah discovered the Word of God and humbled himself before the Lord! The Lord heard his prayer and proised not to bring disaster until after King's death! The prayer of a repentant and humbled heart! The Lord showed His mercy! It amazed me the book of the law was found! Discovered! Where had it been? How often does our Bible get lost in the shuffle of every day life! May we be diligent to never lose the Word of God, may we meditate on it every day, keep it close in our hearts and minds! Thank You, Lord, for Your Word! We were lost, now we are found through Your Son, Jesus! May we never lose Your word, may it always be in our hearts, our tongues, and in our minds!
2 Chron 34:21b: For the Lord's great anger has been poured out on us because our ancestors have not obeyed the word of the Lord....I desire to kn Your Word, obey Your Word! Have mercy on us, Dear Lord! You know our hearts!

Heavenly Father; thank You for this group of believers that keep each other on track. Thank You Lord that You go before us and know our test results; the salvation dates of our unsaved loved ones; the outcome of our children's lives; the joy that awaits us tomorrow; the FIRE we will find in Your Word! Good morning, GIGs,
Today my heart feels heavy with the burden of those here in Wendy Land and in my life in New England who are hurting. Be it for those in ill health, or those who are caring for and hurting for those in ill health, those needing provision, those needing to rid themselves of the demons such as anxiety or addiction or godless loneliness or fear of the future...I wish to offer up a prayer written by a lovely woman I was blessed to know named Adeline. She was the mother of my oldest sister's second husband, and she passed away several years ago in her early 90's. Adeline centered her life around the Lord first, her husband second,her children, and then those she served in her church and community. She was also a poet, and her church published a book of her poetry when she was 78!! I was led this morning to dig out that book, called "Patchwork Poems," most of which are really prayers. Adeline wrote this poem for her son "during an illness". It seemed to suit my mood today. I'd like to honor the memory of those wonderful woman by sharing this poem today.
"Oh, Holy Spirit guide him when shadows come his way.
Life his heart and show him the brighter side of day.
Cast the fear of failure from his furrowed brow.
Lord, in all Thy mercies, hear my prayer now.
Tell him that the morrow has greater things in store.
And the stormy seas he sails now, lead safely to shore.
Light the path before him with Your wondrous love.
Make him count his blessings that come from you above."
