Today another verse that jumped off the pages at me was Isaiah 42:6-7 (regarding His Servant)
6 “I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness.
I will take you by the hand and guard you,
and I will give you to my people, Israel,
as a symbol of my covenant with them.
And you will be a light to guide the nations.
7 You will open the eyes of the blind.
You will free the captives from prison,

Also 42:4b - Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for his instruction.
The footnote here says "And his name will be the hope of all the world." Amen! We are the distant lands. We wait for his instruction. He is our hope and our salvation!

Today's reading was long, but as I look back over what I circled, I keyed in on a few phrases that keep things simple and straightforward for me as I seek to walk with Him and do His will and try to be who He wants me to be.

I have a prayer request for a young adult named Ryan just diagnosed with testicular cancer. He is my spiritual mentor's nephew. Ryan has Down's Syndrome, and lost his mother (my friend's sister)a year ago to Scleroderma. This is the same disease my sister Denise has. Praise the Lord, Denise was discharged from the hospital yesterday, but is still on very strong antibiotics which her husband has to give her intraveneously.

So many underlined for me today….This one here though ….I was reading when Dillon walked through the door last night after getting home from work, been some long days cause both have been doing straw putting it up in the barns (very hard labor) and Brady finally got to sit down after a long day at baseball camp. (2 days prior he also has been helping in the straw).
Bible verse: Isaiah 40: 30 -31: Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Good morning everyone, today’s lesson hit home for me. I want to hang on to the vision that I am important to God and He is right there with me, holding my hands. What comfort in that!
I could use some prayer. I went for a mammogram yesterday and ended up having two biopsies. I have to wait through the weekend before I get the results. I spent the afternoon, yesterday in God’s word to calm down. I had memorized Isaiah 41:9-10 years ago and it was timely when I came upon it yesterday.
“I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t’ be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my righteous right hand.

Don't think it can get any better than today's reading. I wrote all over these pages with different peoples names.
Jen Ren, 43:8. I praise God that though you may not be able to see, you are not "blind" to God. He holds your right hand by His right "strong" hand. And then you are face to face with our Maker. All of us look towards that day, wanting to be able to see Him. Like the little boy who was afraid of his room at night, parents told him that God was there with him. The boy said that he wanted some one with skin on. That is how we all feel, longing for the day when we can "see" him face to face. When Moses saw the glory of His face, Moses turned white and glowed. What will that day be like for us.
The passage of Chirst, some 400 years before He walked the earth with us, is so right on. And there are no pictures of that so we can see His earthly body.
It is all faith. We know that it is happening, will happen, and did happen, and some day we will see it Face to Face, (like Wendy says).
Some day Jen Ren I will be face to face with you, no name tags needed, and we will rejoice together. But for today my prayer is that you will conquer with God's hand your fears and depression. It hurts us GIGs that you are hurting. God is blessing you, right this minute, "be still and know that I am God".

Morning, GIGS! Wendy, AMEN!!! Mercy! What a wonderful reading this morning! So many nuggets and lots of my favorite verses!Of course, Is 40:28-31 is so close to my heart as a runner and a Christian! Something new today and SO INCREDIABLY TRUE is Is 42:20--we see what is right but refuse to act on it and hear with our ears but we don't really listen. I need to listen better than what I do! To my hubby, my kids, my friends, and especially to His WORD. I need to blot out other things and focus a lot better! This is a great verse for me!

Thank you Karen for the song. I'm praying the Lord will take the mission team and plane upon His eagles wings as they head for Miami, landing 10:50 eastern. No news means they have the same flight schedule, no changes. The next leg is to Dallas, then home at 5:30 central time today.

Is. 42:7 reminds me of Luke 4:18, where Jesus quotes Is.61 saying He has come to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, deliver the captives, give sight to the blind, set at liberty those bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. During the year of jubilee, servants were freed, debts dropped, mortgaged land returned to original owners.
Jesus had an agenda, didn't He?

Jesus touched on a lot of situations, He covers each of our needs. Praise God!

Linda (Must have jewelry), praying for God's peace for you for whatever the outcome is. I have a friend who is a 16-year breast cancer survivor. She is still on fire for the Lord. He used the cancer to turn her to Him. She did and last Saturday she manned our church booth at the Gay Pride parade to minister to them and one person gave their life to the Lord.

One verse stood out for me in today's reading. It was the verse I read over and over again to my mom as she lay dying in ICU: "Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
Honestly when I was reading that verse I was praying that God would cure her and heal her. As it became evident that it was not going to happen, I still read it out loud but it was more for my Dad, my sister, my brother and me. Six years later, I can attest that God kept His end of the bargain. He still does.

Now I know why I was lead to this study at this time in my life. My support system is so small - my whole family consists of a brother and sister-in-law in Conn., one niece in N.Y. my daughter in Diego Garcia who will be heading to Bahrain in November, and a son in Arizona. No Aunts, uncles, or cousins. And a friend I haven't talked to in six months - she has bi-polar disease and has become reclusive. Now I have a strengthening faith in God and no fear of the future and all of you hugging me in cyberspace!
I just had a phone call about 1/2 hour ago re breast biopsy. It is positive for carcinoma. I even have a Dr. appt. at 12;30 for further consulation. Probably a lumpectomy in my future.Thank you for all your prayers and kindest wishes. Remember I said - "His will be done" before the test. So be it.
I'll keep you informed as I know more and also keep up to date on readings.............
I feel badly I didn't make it yesterday to sing and dance with my Special Populations group. I trust I will be able to continue on with them and also my older friends at assisted living. You can,if you like, pray for this above all else.
I still will be pushing for the outer limits and keeping on, keeping on.

Thank you for your very personal and moving message today Wendy. It is the message we need to hear day after day. This why I come back every day; it is so easy to lose the power of God's Word if we are not engaged. We find our strength in it.
I underlined so many things too-- so rich were the readings. I loved the vision of majesty that God paints in the verses of Isaiah 40, as He "picks up the earth as though it were a grain of sand." Wow. And He still sees our troubles in His depth of understanding. His promises in 43:1-2 are our reassurance-- He will be with us in our deep waters. I need to open my heart and feel Him holding my right hand.
I was thinking about Michael in 42:7, freeing the captives from prison, and releasing those who sit in dark dungeons. As I envision that depressing apartment he lived in, and see where he is now, I see that promise fulfilled! Thank you Lord!

One more thing for now-- 41:24 ...concerning idols and false gods, "those who choose you pollute themselves." That's pretty strong. What am I polluting this temple with? My body, my heart, my thoughts, my time, my energy? I need to spend time letting God show me where I am polluted, and how I can purify those areas.

My son Johnny, 23, has been going downhill emotionally for years and each week he seems to have a different spirit of afliction-depression, shame, and today he said anxiety. Praise God today he agreed to go meet with a Christian this week on tues at 4:00. I ask you to pray that satan will not put fear in him and cause him to cancel. God is telling me He will give back to Johnny all the things the theif has stolen from him. Thank you Papa! I know that along with Michael, Jacque, that God will bring Johnny out of the dungeon.

I have not entered the blog in a bit. We had our interior painted which was sorely needed and neglected as we raised our children. We still have a 17 and a 22 y.o. at home, but hopeful the paint will last.
Anyways, I had all I could do to keep up with the reading and the vblog.
I am not as well versed in the Bible as so many on the list are. My memory does not hold the exact verses either.
But, I can pray well for Johnny, like my own 22 y.o. Ryan, who doesn't seem to know his direction
And for Ryan mentioned on the list.
And for Linda who is waiting the hardest wait. The weekend after being told she has something but what...
I can pray for all who have difficulties in life. But, look to these verses as these Isiaih 40, 41 and 43 which we read repeatedly while my daughter was in the hospital with her cancer. We found such comfort and strength. My daughter was confirmed with just our family, a special confirmation, as she had missed her confirmation because of her diagnosis and chemo effects. While the pastor confirmed her he read over her Isaiah 43-1:9

I have it copied....also Grace & Peace ....send Him(your son) over...3 different farms are calling for them....The Lord is renewing their strength today. It rained last night. It was just a "WOW" moment for me when he came through the door....the verse I was on and seeing Him....His face and arms from sweating collecting the dust and dirt on His body...His hands are becoming such young mans hands...had a few blisters. His Dad teaches them...and joking will say (Yhea gotta be tough!!). So many proverbs talk about idle hands. I will have your son in prayers for a job.

God's love and care for us. He cares about even the littlest things in our lives.
No job yet. I am seeking the Lord's direction if He wants me to move out of state where some people I know live. I pray for open doors and that God will work out the details for me to get up there, stay with someone if possible. I am still looking at office work, being a mother's helper or helping a senior lady.

Oh how I wish I can send him over there. That seems to be where the jobs are that build character and good work ethic. Thank you for your prayers for him to find one closer to home. I sent him a link for a Head Lice Remover specialist (professional nit picker is what they call it I think) but he was not amused. Since most employers look for experience, he can honestly say he does in this area. But he wouldn't go for it. He's so picky (get it? picky? yeah, bad one. sorry).

Thank you for pouring your heart out...The Lord gave me Is 43:18-19 as this year's theme and it has proven to be something He was preparing me for because I am in a season of wasteland and I need to be reminded to SEE the new thing He is doing!
