Let me start by reminding you I am still learning about this Flip camera. I am exercising my learning curve today. When I reached around to press start apparently I adjusted the zoom. So the top of my head is cut off for some of the video. I would have redone it but I had already re-taped 10 times. Thanks for the grace.

Hi Y'all - It's been some time since I've commented. Something about a "trip" can do that to you, I guess... I wanted to share 2 quick things with you - the first is just kind of funny. We were at Disney World last week, and I am such a ride wimp, that when my 4 year old wanted to go on the Dumbo ride (which I would not go on last year), I thought of you, Wendy, conquering the Griffon (sp?), and thought, If Wendy can do that, I can certainly do Dumbo! Hee, hee, hee!
Second - In the midst of reading all of these wonderful psalms (I finally got myself caught up this morning), I wish you all could see through my eyes right now. It's 7:30 a.m. and I am sitting on the 5th floor, beachfront at Naples, Florida. The Gulf of Mexico is spread before me, the sun is rising behind me, creating long beautiful shadows on the beach, the palm trees are tall and majestic, there are about 8 pelicans sitting on the edge of the water, bobbing along with the waves, well, there aren't really waves - the gulf is like glass this morning. But the best gift just came. I just spent about 10 minutes watching 4 dolphins crossing in front of my view - maybe only 20 yards out beyond where a few people are already in the water this morning. Oh Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!! Praise God for his beautiful creation. Being down here reminds me of how BIG God is, and how small I am. I'm looking forward to getting back to reading to comments and praying for you all. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I really stayed with just a few verses/phrases today. They caught my attention right away and just held it.
"Let ALL THAT I AM praise the Lord."
Who am I? woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, etc. Do I praise God in all of those roles? Are my actions pleasing to Him? Do they reflect Him to others?
ALL THAT I AM ... all the parts of me? He made them ... with my hands I care for my family ... with my feet I chase the kids ... with my arms I hug them ... with my head I plan for them, using the resources and time available to keep them fed and clothed ... so do I please Him and praise Him with what I DO? do my actions throughout the day reflect my fear of Him? cooking breakfast, doing laundry, changing diapers, running errands, watering veggies, braiding hair, washing dishes, etc, etc, does my attitude while doing these things show that I know God to others and that I love Him to Him? He has made me able to do these things ... do I choose to complain about them or praise Him, for both the thing itself and the work to care for it??
I'm not sitting with my notebook now, but I also really liked the next-to-last psalm, the one that talked about the stars 'twinkling for Him.' Makes me picture all of creation, all of nature as one big orchestra, bursting out in a big symphony of light and color and sound and movement each and every day, praising and worshipping with the action that God created them to do. :-)

Wow, thank you Wendy for the timely reminder, "Enjoy the wait". That little statement holds so much weight. It reminds me of a lesson you spoke about before when you were talking about "how long" periods. I can't remember the date but I wrote down your wise words and stuck them in my Bible. "Waiting can cause weariness. Weariness can cause weakness. Weakness leads to temptation. Temptation leads to sin. We must be better "waiters"." So, we can avoid all that by 'enjoying' the wait. How do we enjoy the wait? By remaining in the Lord and putting our hope and trust in Him. LOVING this study friends :)

Kate and Amy, you make me smile with your 4:8 attitudes and lovely words today. Amy, did you get so caught up in the reading that you went straight through tomorrow's? I looked and looked for those "twinkling stars", and finally found them in the reading for July 15. Oh well, summertime gets me confused about the days, too (smile).
As I walked today, I prayed over our childrens' list, and pondered my nugget for today: (Psalm 135:13-14)
"Your name, O Lord, endures forever;
your fame, O Lord, is known to every generation.
For the Lord will give justice to his people
and have compassion on his servants."
As a young woman, God wasn't much on my mind, though I've never strayed very far in my life from doing what would be pleasing in God's eyes In retrospect, I see that His arms were definitely around me whether I knew it or not. Which makes me wonder if maybe back then there were people (probably women) praying for me like I am now praying for others. Maybe my grandmother, or great aunt, or godmother. They are all gone now so I can't ask them about their faith No one in my upbringing talked about their faith, though many went to church.
I guess my to do out of this is basically what I'm trying to do. Pray, wear my cross so that others will see an opening to talk about faith with me if they choose to, and make sure my "conduct and conversation" show people what my values are.

Psalm 132:11-18 V11 The lord swore an oath to David with a promise that He will never take back. Prophecy that will be fulfilled when the family line of David, the Messiah reigns forever. V:17 Here I will increase the power of David; my anointed one will be a light for my people….He will be a glorious King. What an amazing hope we have.

Wendy, I’m so sorry it took you so many times to get that video made… I don’t know how you do it –I’d be lol, every time, trying to talk ‘into space, with no one in front of me.’ You do such a good job, yes, this is your talent – teaching! Thank you for the time and energy you give us!
I love the Psalms dear friends! They are just so applicable to us today. It just shows us that we face the same trials that our ancestors did. It is very refreshing to me that during the difficult periods we are not alone. Morning after morning, we wake up and He continues to be right there with us! All we need to do is remain in Him. Yes, tarry! I love that! Linger. Loiter. Who better to tarry with than our Father! And, what I’m seeing lately is that it is during these periods of loitering and waiting, and lingering – during these patient times of anticipation - we see His miracles unveiled to us, right before our very own eyes! His Word is true. During our trials, He reveals Himself to us. Our relationship grows deeper as we put our trust in Him alone.
“I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him” (130:5). I AM counting on Him. I AM hopeful. I AM expecting and anticipating His presence in my day. Morning after morning He is always there. Never does He fall asleep, or take His eyes off of me. Never does He leave my side. Never does He hide from me. Thank you dear Lord for giving me a passion for your presence! Thank you for your Word, - filled with truths and promises.
Aahhh, sweet sisters, let’s DO enjoy a day of tarrying with the LORD.

Jacque, Michael has been in my prayers. I’m praying that God will be your strength sweet Jacque. That He will give you discernment to see and to know, clearly what needs to be done. Michael is hopeless right now, and you are there standing in the gap, making sure that everything that can be done is happening. That God is equipping you and helping you for each new step. That the facility he is at is paying close attention to him. Taking care of all of his needs – not overlooking any single thing. In-tune, to the tiniest details, so that nothing goes unnoticed. Lord, draw Michael to you during this period of suffering. May he find his inspiration in You. May you heal him and fill him up with a passion and focus, to do what you clearly designed him to do. Lord, You know Michael better than his own parents do…do a mighty work in this young man. Do not allow his talents to be wasted. Draw him completely out of the pit he is tangled in and fill him to the brim with your Holy Spirit. Lord, you are the God of turn-arounds. Woo us upside-down as we patiently watch you work in Him. Pour wisdom over his parents and allow them to love him without any conditions attached. May he share their strong faith in You. Lord, give them peace as they patiently wait. May those around them, witness You in them, and draw them, also – closer to You. Thank you, for we do know your glory will shine, ever so brightly –for all to see! May your perfect will be done. In Jesus precious name we pray, Amen.

Ps 135:15-18...talking about gods made by human hands...mouths that can't speak, eyes that can't see, ears that cannot hear, nose that cannot smell..."And those who make the idols are just like them-as are all who trust in them" I do do not want to be like a man made idol...I pray God will use my eyes and ears to learn all He wants me to know, a mouth that speaks only God's words and blessings and a nose that appreciates all of God's creation...

That's the question I will be asking myself today. Do I praise Him with all that I am? When I read that it brought to mind the Shema, the core Hebrew prayer which is based on Deut 6:5-9
"HEAR, O ISRAEL: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."
God is to be our all in all. He is enough, isn't He?

Michelle was up this morning to with our prayer list for our children….Son was in a valley on the way home from (still doing district baseball all this week)….struck out twice….ups and downs of life. Conversation pretty limited on the way home. Try to cheer him up the best I could. Pressure was on him score was 5 to 1...2 outs bases were loaded….Brady up. Hit’s a nice line drive but went foul….pops another up but foul. Next pitch swing and a miss. Strike 3. Better mood this morning….Dad was home…His continue strength always portrays to persevere. So proud of you about your cross. You have such great faith.

It's been awhile since I've posted & I post only infrequently, but I'm reading the Word each day watching Wendy's vlogs, and trying to read all your wonderful posts when I can.
Thank you Wendy for your perseverance! Wow, 10 times! Can't thank you enough for the time, effort, and thought you put in to this study. It's a lifeline for me.
My take away today:
"I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word." Psalm 130:5
Despite being in the depths of despair, longing for God's help (in verses 1,2), we have to continue putting our hope in Him, counting on Him. It's so reassuring and encouraging to read this in my life right now.
I have been discouraged with not seeing any fruit from my efforts in trying to be the only spiritual example in the home for my 2 sons since my husband is not a believer. Yesterday's verses Psalm 126:5-6 also come to mind: "those who plant in tears, ...will harvest with shouts of joy."
I need to be reminded of these promises from God as I struggle with my 5 yr old son who is very resistant to coming to church with me each week, waffling back and forth saying he does/doesn't believe in God. I often feel so discouraged at the lack of progress in this area, but God's words have given me the strength, encouragement I need to persevere.
On a different note, I recently posted about my friend Mike, whose sister and 2 young daughters were severely injured in a housefire (one daughter did not survive). Thanks to those of you who have prayed for this family. The mother (Mike's sister) remains in a coma, indefinitely. The 4 yr old daughter is showing signs of improvement, but is having to learn how to walk and talk all over again due to severe carbon monoxide poisoning. Doctors have said she will have permanent brain damage, but we pray for a miracle that little Julia will not have any permanent effects. If you are so led, please continue to pray for this family.

Kate from Virginia now in Naples, Fl. I lived on Marco Island for about ten years and then Naples for another ten and am now 35 miles north of you near the Shell
Factory. Ever heard of it? Now you know why so many of my words on here are about the beautiful creation of our God. We are so reminded of it every day! My son grew up thinking a manatee in our canal was his personal pet. Ugly pet too!! It looks hopeful right now that the oil spill will miss us. Thank you Karen all the way in Switzerland praying for our Gulf!

In Ps.138:18, Those who make idols are just like them as are all who trust in them. Are they able to talk, see, hear, smell spiritually? No, they are dumb,as in the NT, unable to do any of those. (such as a tv)
Do I want to be like that? Nope.
I remember the 2 greatest commandments Jesus identified-love God, love others. What I spend my greatest amount of time with, and idol or God?

Hello All --
I just wanted to post quickly. Ms. Rebecca is home from the hospital!!! Praise God!! She still has a long road to recovery but sleeping in one's own bed with mommy, daddy, and brothers all in the same house has GOT to improve her situation. She remains with a nasal feeding tube bypassing her pancreas - but the PICC line has been removed. She is still heavily medicated for pain, but I am sure the LORD will provide and in His time, she will be healed and pain-free.
Wendy, I LOVE the new flip videos. I was having such a hard time hearing you before (maybe because the microphone was messed up) but the flip video is so crisp and clear. Thank you so much for putting so much into teaching us.
Praying for all those needs and lifting praises for all those as well.
