I love the Psalms we read today. Actually I love all the Psalms. They are so poetic. I saw a lot of prayer in the reading today and prayer along with praise is what I need in my life.

In today's reading, I love the beginning verses Ps 120: 1-2 and also the ending verses Ps 126:5-6. In my life they are related too. Because most of the tears I cry are from people who have lied to me. It is a good thing that our LORD does not slumber. He knows all and sees all. It is also encouraging to read that the tears we cry for our unsaved loved ones are not wasted. They are being used to water the seeds for the harvest. My seeds should be all water logged by now but I'm not a gardener so I don't even know if that analogy works. Ha! Ok, I better go to sleep.

Denise has been “in exile” many times due to her debilitating illnesses, but thanks be to God, she turns 59 today!! Happy birthday, Denise, and may you have many more! (Now where did I put that tissue? I should have purchased stock in the Kleenex company before I started this Bible study!)

Stephanie, that was a wonderful summary yesterday of the key points from Psalm 119. I can see the teacher in you coming out (smile). Thanking our Lord for Jason’s test results, and SAPing that the doctors find the key to giving him relief. Now just rest you and that baby, and think only positive thoughts!
Rhonda, I’d like to share with you, from the perspective of a mom with a 25-year-old and a 22-year-old, that it is critically important that you be home for your boys as much as you can, and please don’t feel selfish about it. That is where you are needed, to make those meals and give those haircuts and drive that carpool, and while you are doing all this, the boys will feel secure and loved. And you just never know, especially with boys, when they will really need to have a conversation with you. Being there makes all the difference, even when there is no talking going on!
Lori, here we go again. Saturday night Chuck initiated a conversation with me that lasted over an hour about why I “need” God. I think it was the wearing of the cross that triggered it. It was a respectful, interesting conversation. And at the end, he stood up, opened his arms wide and said, “Hug”. That’s my boy!
Lyn, I’ve copied your prayer from yesterday into my journal. Thank you for it. I think it will become one of my “mini prayers” I say during the day to keep myself focused on Him.

I am glad you mentioned the "mirror" image from your video...I was wondering why your wedding ring was on your right hand! (I thought maybe you got married in Norway; since when I was there I learned they wear their wedding rings on their right hand! haha)
Today, Psalm 125:2 spoke to my heart: "Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, both now and FOREVER!"....amen to that. I find comfort in those words.

Mystery solved! I also wondered why you didn't always wear your wedding ring. Since I usually watch the video on my phone it wasn't always easy to tell which kind of ring you were wearing on the finger. (I really do listen to what you're saying!) I think it was while participating in the Bible study, Stepping Up, that I was convicted of always running to my friends when in crisis. Phoning on the way to the emergency room, etc. Of course, now it's texting. Anyway, I'm trying to turn to God first, since that's really where my help is coming from. Thanks for the reminder and thanks for always sharing from your heart!

Good morning GIGs, and what a wonderful day God had made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!!!
First, I need to share about the reading aloud of Psalm 119. It was quite an experience! The Word says, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of the Lord. Romans 10:17 The word promise/promised kept repeating and I marked 16 of them. Cont.
Wendy, your flip camera got me to thinking about a recent God Moment I had…about a month ago, I opened up my mail box, and staring me in the face was a flip-email from Chef Diane (a blessed sister who journeyed with us last year) -excitedly I opened it up and low and behold there she was: face-to-face, talking to me! I about died-I thought I had gone to heaven, to be sitting there seeing and hearing her real voice. I thought about what you said earlier, “sewing the seeds in other people’s lives.” God placed this girlfriend, along with Joy, (last year) on my path through this study, to show me how to pray.
And, as I was praying for “She Speaks,” on my walk, I was reminded how badly I wanted to attend this year-but, it was for selfish reasons. I wanted to see “in person” all the people who had turned my life-upside-down! Knowing that it was not God’s desire for me to go this year, but thinking maybe one year. (smile) It was my mom (who would be in her room every night with the door closed) - (a very private woman) praying that me, my bro. and my sister would read the Bible. But, it was Wendy that showed me how to read AND apply the Word to my life. God used Wendy to sprout the seed that had been planted in me, and for this I am very grateful. Daily, she adds a little bit of water, and the little plant is beginning to grow!
You see, I’m much more of a people person, rather than computer type. I’ve fought my time on this computer all year long. The enemy would try and tell me I’m wasting my time. I just love being with girlfriends, greeting them with a hug, talking to them…so the time I spend here, has been in my prayers. Daily, I ask God, to help me be frugal with my time-to do what He desires of me. Well, Wendy, I had a light bulb moment while you were talking, but even more so as I was walking– when you said, “sewing seeds in other people’s lives.” God brought Diane, & Joy to my mind (many others too!) and I saw how these “encouragers” on this blog brought me right where my Father wanted me to be: in a personal & intimate relationship with Him, partly through praying! It was His desire that I meet these women on this particular blog, and He showed me so sweetly, that it IS His desire that I too, plant the seeds in other ladies lives’ – just like others’ did for me last year! Oh, a sweet God moment this morning!
Now, if any of you are going to ‘She Speaks’ this summer you have got to look for sweet Diane- you’ll spot her out right away –she’ll be the one whizzing by on the red scooter! Give her a BIG hug from me! Watch out, tho she just may run you over! And, if you’re really lucky, you’ll see Joy-maybe they’ll be together! Giver her a hug, too! You will see the Jesus coming right out of them! And, of course give sweet Wendy one, too! A big tight one! Squeeze her to death, just for me! smile

Yesterday we read about the importance of God’s Word (loved your list, Stephanie!) and today God shows us some more wisdom through His precious Psalms. Does a day go by where we are not frustrated or fearful about something? Most of us experience some stress, some anxiousness, some type of burden, pressure, or worry – daily! God knows this – that is why He so mercifully tells us what we are suppose to do:
“I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer” (Psalm 120:1).
Then, the very next Psalm gives us the certainty: “My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! He will not let [us] stumble; the one who watches over [us] will not slumber” (121:2-3). He even goes on to let us know that we have no reason what-so-ever to fear for our future, “The LORD keeps [us] from all harm and watches over [our] life. The LORD keeps watch over [us] as [we] come and go, both now and forever” (7 & 8).
But.
Patience. [The hard part.]
We have to be diligent, girls! We have to really believe that He is going to do what is best for us. It’s not about our time, - it’s about His perfect time. So, in the mean time…
“We keep looking to the LORD our God for his mercy” (123:2). As we wait on Him, we are showing evidence of our faith in Him.
The non Christian – will worry.
The un-believing Christian, too, will worry!
And, the Christian that is full of doctrine, but does not live out God’s Word will worry!
But, those of us who are seeking to apply His Word to our daily living, from the inside – out…will…Seek to put our trust in Him – and will be patient. Because we believe God’s Word to be true.
HOW? There is only one way and that is seeking to be filled with the Holy Spirit, everywhere-every little open space, filled to the brim with Him – in our entire body! Because in our earthy body – well, it’s just hopeless!
The blessings: Patience.
Evidence in our life of His fruit coming out! Non – believers noticing something different in us! Lord, this is my desire! I so want my “heart in tune with you” (Psalm 123:4).
Loving God’s Word, and loving each one of you – TODAY! Blessings, Lori

Wendy - loved the little video of your home - whew - I have been there many-a-time. My way of dealing with the piles of stuff is to throw it all out!!! Not a good idea....And, I say every year that I will NOT do a project in July, and YUP, it always ends up right in that month, every year!
Michelle - your life certainly does parallel mine. I, too, am the painter and re organizer (my husband detests painting). But, he does carpentry and electrical, and a teeny, tiny bit of plumbing.
When he DOES do plumbing - we all evacuate!
I loved reading Psalm 119, this time S-L-O-W-L-Y, and gleaned so much. It is still so hard to grasp how much my Father in Heaven loves me, enough to discipline me too. I am a former Catholic (left the Cath church 25 years ago) and I still struggle with the whole "guilt" thing. Reading the Psalms through this study and really getting to know David has been such a blessing and a release.
Please know I am not criticizing the Catholic Church - many of my family are Catholic still and I have two Aunts in their late 60's who are Believers and truly have a personal relationship with God. But, many do not, and for them it is a social club of sorts.
For me, I went to Catholic School until 7th grade - great academically, but harsh. I grew up thinking of God as a stern man, who just hated me every time I sinned. Just never learned grace and mercy until I was in my mid to late twenties.
My daughter's mother-in-law is coming over this afternoon and my other sweet daughter who is home with us, is going to give us crochet lessons. I already learned a month ago, but am still at the "making the dishrags for practice" stage. I must say, it is very therapeutic.
I am still little by little familiarizing myself with all of you! What an awesome blessing this study is.

In my husbands teaching, he would always point out the key verse for the book we were studying. Well, it was in our readying today. It jump off the page to me. Chpt 126
This is us, as we do this study, we - together are filled with laughter, sing for joy, see the amazing things God is doing in our collective lives, HE restores us, like a stream in the desert, we plant in tears and harvest with shouts of joy collectively. We weep together and sing together. Knowing that as we listen to Wendy, post our own, read about what the Lord is doing in each other's lives we will see our LORD at work.
Wendy, God never told us that we had to harvest souls, He just told us to plant seeds. Don't be concerned about success, be concerned about be availible. Praying that we do our best, but asking God to control our tongues, and give us the words to say. Many times when the sower feels like it was a bust, God took over and it was the best seed to put into someone's life. God gives the increase.
Lyn, thanks for posting, your words are from God and we enjoy what you have to say. We may not always tell you, or comment to you, but it gave us something to "chew" on for the day.
Lori, as I am reading the postings, I lose track of who posted what, and more times than not, when I look back to see who is saying this, it is you. Bless you. I am amazed at how you are open to our Maker - to say what he wants you to say, with such an open heart.

Jem Ren, you told today that you have sang a solo, with out accompliment. Girl - you are brave brave brave, and have a great talent. God has given you things that the rest of us do not have. We each have spiritual gifts, meaning that there is nothing we did to earn, learn them. They are God given talents. And we each have many things that we are not capable of doing. And we long to be able to do that. So my love, camp on what you are good at. You are a great inspiration, loving to others, and there is something special about you that people love you and have never been face to face. AND it is not pity. I only wish that I could see what you hear. God gave you a keener sense of knowing what is going on because you are not distracted by what you are seeing. So "see" you cannot have both and we cannot either.
You are usually the first one to post, and I always want to read yours. Please "wallow" in the advantages that you have. I am a farm girl, so let me explain wallow. That is what a pig does in the mud. He wants it all over him, and takes the time to be sure that it is --- all over him.

Donna, as I SAPed for you to be able to write your bio, it "came" to me that you should try writing it in the third person - as if someone (like maybe a reporter) is writing it about you. You, like humble Wendy, probably don't like using "I", "me" or "my", so instead you "Donna", "she" and "her" and it just might be easier.
Lori, your Godwink today about planting seeds makes me want to share with you what my new cross looks like. It's on a pretty silver chain that only comes to that little hollow below my neck. There is one silver cross that is only about a half an inch with a little decorative etching. There is another, very plain, silver cross next to it that is only about a quarter of an inch. Then hanging next to those is a tiny little SEED pearl. I've been looking for a cross that speaks to me for a couple of months and this one really did, and at the right time. To me it represents a good size faith, a small size faith, and the seed from which they both grew. I bought it at a Hallmark store, but I did not have any luck finding a link to it. Anyway, I'm thankful He sent the perfect cross my way. WOW!

The tumors were completely removed PTL. Today I went for a follow up, and unfortunately they found 4 suspicious moles they are sending for biopsies. Please pray that all come back clear. This has been very difficult for me and I'm dealing that well with it. Thank ou all so much for your daily encouragement and insight into the Word. Wendy, thank you especially for your faithfulness and your heart for serving us.

Greetings everyone! I have been keeping up with the readings and appreciate Wendy's vlogs and your comments.
I also wrote out Psalm 121:1-2 in my journal. And thank you Wendy for mentioning "A Long Obedience in the Same Direction." I actually had it on my bookshelf but don't think I've ever finished reading it. Time to give it a try again.
I have a prayer of thanksgiving to share. My son who graduated from college in Dec. 2009 just got his first math teaching job at a middle school in VA. We're excited and I have been praying for God to reveal His plan for my son's life. I believe He has and am thankful for God's guidance as my son begins his career. Amen!
Hey, everybody, I ended up being up WAY late last night and so although I got up early this morning to read, I didn't get to hop on here until just now. It sounds like Wendy's video is especially good today, so I'll try to catch that tomorrow.
I loved how yesterday the Psalm was all about how wise and wonderful God is - it was full of praise, in a sense - and yet today most of the psalms were more of a plea for the fulfillment of promise from God. It reminded me of how God has promised to care for us and was asking God for that provision because of current problems. JenRen, I thought that these scriptures should definitely be turned into prayer and prayed them for you specifically! Tell the darkness to hit the road!
Lori, seeing my name in your post is just so encouraging. It's nice to know that somebody somewhere notices me. Thanks so much for that!
VBS this week is going so well! My son is coming out of his shell and asks to go every day, and the invitation is tomorrow night. The pastor is teaching the adult class, and he did ours tonight, and then invited us to pray with the kids who respond tomorrow. There is upwards of 135 at this church this week, and they usualy have several who respond. Please pray for hearts to be open tomorrow!
I have good news, too! The little Bible study group I'm in that is reading along in this Bible got a new member tonight! Someone from VBS hears us talking and accepted our invitation to come join us. She said she's going to get online and look all of you up. I told her you were all wonderful. :-D

PS - Kelly, I've had several suspicious moles removed, and while none have been cancerous yet, I know it's scary to wait and wonder. I'm praying for you!
