Well friends, thank you so much for the grace. I did not think you would enjoy lip reading my vlog. Still not sure exactly what happened but I know Who is in control and it is not me or my Dell laptop.
What are ya'll doin' this weekend? Below are some pictures of my weekend project~ diy playroom makeover. Paper removal, spackling, and painting, floor to ceiling, including trim-yes I am tacklin it all.
I started today by cleaning out toys and the closet. I have been working hard since around 10:00am. At 5:45 I headed to my local Ace Hardware store where Chase mixed my paint. Tonight I will spackle and sand. Tomorrow, paint. Chase says the Ace paint is the BEST! I am giving it a try.
Oh, if you are coming to She Speaks-please look me up. There will be 600 attending and one of me. It will be easier for you to find me than for me to find you. I will be at the Gather and Grow table a good bit of the time on Saturday. I plan to be wearing black and white. (at least that is what I am thinking today)

Good morning, GIG’s and Happy Saturday,
I love the Psalms. Reading them this week has prompted me to look back over the Psalms in other Bibles I have used over the years and see what I highlighted in them. On the day my wonderful, faith-filled great aunt “Mike” died in 2008, I had that morning randomly read Psalm 84. Later that day, I could see why God directed me to 84 that day.
Today the beautiful words, beautiful rhythm and beautiful repetition of Psalm 107 spoke to me.
“Lord help,” they cried out in their trouble. (Verse 6, 13,19 and 28)
And then each time….
“and he saved them from their distress.” (Verse 13,19,28)
This particular Psalm begins and ends with encouragement to recognize our God publicly.
“Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! (Verse 2)
“Let them exalt him publicly before the congregation.” (Verse 32)
These passages particularly spoke to me because this week I took a big step towards “exalting Him publicly”. I bought myself a cross and am wearing it daily. A while back I posted about crosses, and how I felt that some people took the wearing of them lightly, as little more than a fashion statement. Personally, I had to get to a point where I felt worthy of wearing one and equipped to not only wear a cross but to “speak out.” Well, thanks to six months in this wonderful, Wendy-led Bible study with all of you GIGs, I feel like I am in that place now! Thank you Wendy and Lori and G&P and Karen and Rhonda and Brandee and Jacque and Morgen and Dixie and Teeny and Amy and Donna and Debbie and Susan and Susie and Jodie and Allie and Michelle and Gaylene and Jan and Jeanne and Jen Ren and Paola and Allie and Kate and, well, you know I could go on and on….I thank every one of you for being in my life and with me on this Walk.

I am all packed and will be going back to NC this afternoon. Am walking w/o pain and able to make the trip.

Michelle, I agree with you about the cross. I do not have a cross necklace yet, because I don't want to lessen the meaning. I am not saying that is the way all should feel about it. But I really honor you in that decision.
Don't think I have ever posted about my mission work in Turkey. They are not a Muslim country. It is not the official religion of the state. The Turks are muslims because of their history and they get a tax break if they are listed in the census as such. They cannot go into a store and buy a Bible, so there is a great need for us to go and give them one. The Bible has a government stamp in it. We go as tourist, which is their cash crop, and we tour. The ruins of the 7 churchs in the Revelations, and other historical places. Constantine was a Christian in the first century and he built churches which still stand as museums. Like built in 450 AD. With murals of the the Christ child, Mary, and God. No Joseph.
We make a couple minutes of speaking with them in English and then ask to give them a free gift. I pull the Bible out of a little sack (holds a NT, CD of Jesus film, and CD of how to have a house church all in their language). MOST are very excited to see it and take it freely. Those of us that go for these 10 days are the only ones that give these Bibles away. The missionaries that live there cannot do this. The natives would not allow it. But because we are tourist spending money they let us. We are very safe. Turkey is one of our largest allies. Truely. I will be leading a group Oct. 5 - 15 this year. Pray about going not about the money, God provides the money. if interested my email is doweston40@att.net

Lori, I just read yesterday postings. I had tried to open them before and they did not obey. What is new - it is a constant battle with me and electonics. Normal for my age group.
What a blessed experience for you yesterday. And GIGs, God just didn't pick Lori out yesterday so He could bless her, Lori picked God, and HE let her know Him better. A true meaning of putting Jesus in your heart. And He will do the same for anyone of us. "Let us praise the LORD for His great love, and for the wonderful things He has done for us". Everything in God's word is so important but when He repeats things over and over He is truly trying to tell us to be quiet and listen. In chapter 107 He says it softly each time, if we cry out He will........... what ever we need. Lori, it is wonderful that you now have joy in carry for this lady. What a special priviledge you have. You were a servant, and God blessed you more than you blessed your grandmother. Isn't it wonderful to know how many of us are crying with tenderness because of God's love for us - all because of your obediance to your LORD. We really cannot understand His full love for us. It is just soooo big.

Today, on this glorious Saturday, may we “… praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for [us]” (107:8, 15, 21 & 31). Wow, did you noticing the same verse repeating itself this morning? This, dear friends is what we’ve been doing all year long: praising the LORD and sharing the good things He is doing with us, here on the blog! That is what God made us to do – and that is why we all feel so encouraged when we come here to share with each other! He so wants us to spend our time around other Believers: “I will thank the LORD with all my heart as I meet with his godly people” (111:1).
The deeds he does right before our eyes –that we each get to witness here on the blog-well, they are just “amazing” (verse 2). The more we read His Word, the more delighted in him we become, and we just can’t help but ponder over everything (vs. 2). To us, dear friends, He reveals His glory and majesty (vs 3) all around us! “He causes us to remember his wonderful words” (vs 4) –Just this week, he continued to show me how gracious and merciful He IS” (vs4)!
Did you guys notice today how each Psalm praised our God?
“All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom” (10).
“They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them” (112:7). Boy, we could camp out here on this verse, couldn’t we?! I love to hold on to this promise, girls! Lord, may my heart today be steadfast – trusting in You – not wavering, but believing that You are going to take care of me.
Who deserves our praise? (Psalm 113:1). –Praise the Lord!
When do we praise the Lord? (vs. 2) – “now and forever!” smile
Where should we praise the Lord? (vs.3) Everywhere! Smile
And, the visual I just loved this morning was: “He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth” (113: 6) – what a Father we have! That this God of the universe would take time, to stoop down and keep an eye on us! Aahh, that just warms my heart!
Donna, what you wrote about re: Turkey, it just makes me so much more appreciative of the freedom we have here in America to own our own Bible! We take it for granted, and we should not. We should everyday seek to know His Word more, to have it in our heart, to know it so well, just incase one day we do not have this privilege.
Okay, off to shower…and check on Mema…oh, ladies yesterday she did not leave her room. We took the bandages off. Her lip was 3 times the size, but, it’s all normal. Her nurse from Mayo’s called to check up on her, and everything she was going through was totally normal. Swelling, soreness, bruising...each day she should get better and better. Today, I’m going to make sure she is eating more. She needs her strength! OH, if her strength could just come from the LORD! Because of her age they did not do the Moh’s procedure, they just cut them out. The stitches will dissolve. But, truly she is hard to look at. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers. I will be praying that He will fill up every little empty spot within his body, -with Him. Praying that you and your husband will be granted wisdom during the upcoming months, and that God will guide you each step of the way as you keep your mind focused on Him.

Now, that never even entered my mind. -- My mind was else where when my comments would not post when I pushed the button, ---time and time again, thinking, “I don’t have time for this today!” Aahh, when am I going to focus my thoughts – not on ME! Hi friends.
This weekend I'm finally staying home. I have been with my dad every weekend and for a few days each week since June 12. I've been doing some wonderful and fun things as you all know but it's nice to be back home for a rest.
Michelle, my next big vacation will be at the end of August when my dad and I along with his friend and her daughter and the daughter's boy friend go to Baldhead Island in N.C. for a week. I don't think I'll be taking my laptop because I probably won't have internet service so I may have to ask you all who has the chronological reading in their Bible so I can get it for the days I'm gone. I hate having to do several day's reading at once.
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and I found out that I gained the ten pounds that I had lost at the end of last year. DEPRESSING!!! I also have to start taking cholesterol medication but it's only 10 mg. My sister told me not to get on cholesterol medication because of the side effects. Her sil (sister-in-law for those who don't know) had bad leg cramps. Oh well, it's in God's hands.
Have a blessed weekend. Tomorrow I'm finally going to my own church. I've only been their twice for Bible study since the end of May.

I was going on and on but the enemy must not have liked that because he sent the neighbor's dog to go after me. It was going for my leg. (I'm scared of dogs - bad childhood experience). Small dog named "Cookie" but vicious. Neighbor's bf said "she goes after little kids, too". Enough about little "Cookie Monster."

Wondering about Psalm 111:9a: "He paid a full ransom for His people." He did - isn't it great? But this was written so long before Jesus' sacrifice ... did the author mean something else??
Psalm 112:1-2 If I love God and am obedient to HIm, my children will be blessed. What more could a parent want? One more reason to be sure that our hearts are in the right place and that we do as we should ... our actions don't just affect us, but those who come after us!
I liked Psalm 111:2 a lot. They had trouble because they forgot the amazing things that God had done for them. We're supposed to "ponder" them in our hearts. If we do that, how easy is it to praise Him continually all day long? (And isn't that the exact word that is used to describe what Mary does after the shepherds tell her about the angels who visited them? Luke 2:18-20.

The ransom in Psalm 111:9a is that God got (for the lack of a better word) His people out of Egypt, and then often after-wards,then was totally fulfilled by Jesus (according to Matthew Henry's Commentary).
I love how you paralleled pondering the good thing God has done (does)from 111:2 to that which Mary did in Luke.

Boy !! Wow!! Where do I start?
PRAISE THE LORD!! What are we suppose to do? PRAISE THE LORD!! I Love Him!!
I really want to send out heartfelt Thank You’s to each one of you. You all brought me across the finish line today. Love All of You! Through Your comments through training and your great encouragement.
As I was running always around the 1 and ½ to ¾ mile mark. This gal always gets tired so today I viewed all of you standing on the side line for the rest of the run. Teeny yelling to Me Go Girl!! A ways farther down Lori yelling RUN…RUN…RUN!!! So I couldn’t stop. I had to keep running. Now to the last half mile mark feeling the prayers Michelle and all of you sent up. Strength kicking back in. Last quarter on the race. There was G&P yelling Godspeed….Godspeed!! Through the finish line I go. He did it and so did all of you. You were there beside Me. If you only knew how much this meant to me. Thank You all for the great encouragement and support. Your love was felt. I can’t really explain it. (My childhood years…My Dad would jokingly tell me I couldn’t run). This heart took it seriously …and thought it to be true so would tell herself that.
The time it took for God beside me and all of you…. to run the race?? 23:52!! The best time ever for running that race. I have been running it for the past 5 or 6 yrs. Running…. I have to believe!! (thanks for the song Jennifer Renee). This morning in my quiet time. I was brought to this:
John 11: 25-26, Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?
Every time we gather for Mass we proclaim in these or similar words, “Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.” Jesus question to Martha at the time of her brother Lazarus’ death, “Do you believe this? Is also put to us. Do we believe in our hearts, deep down inside? Yes! Do we believe that God’s power can bring new life out of the most dreadful experiences in our lives? Yes!
It ended with this prayer: Life-giving God, help me to trust your power in my life that I might experience the life you have promised. Amen.
Ladies there were 243 participants doing this race today. I now raise my hand up to His glory and through his encouragement I was # 28 to cross over. Lord, You ask Me How deep is my Love? Deep really deep!!
Hubby crossed the finish line #7, Dillon #34...had it a little rough …His training wasn’t quite up to par this year cause would get a cramp in the back of leg every time would run….also did get home 3 o’clock in the morning from trucking with Dad. He did a lot better last year. Was a little bummed. Mom was proud because he still wanted to do it no matter what. No complaining at all….seeing this young man (a teenager) with this kind of attitude is a blessing to Me. When I arrived at Brady’s baseball game. A few parents met me and said…You missed it. Your son hit 2 over the fence homeruns in the first inning!! God is so good!! Ladies I right now am feeling so guilty….should I be writing this?
The bible reading for today….I was blessed reading it.

…vs. 2 has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
He has everyone…from my emptiness (eating disorder), childless years, a few more…but short on space. To the joy I am feeling today. Life is hard….Oh but God is Good.
….vs14 He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. Hang on everyone…Be encouraged and strengthen by being in His word.

Rhonda, I could feel my eyes get wider and wider as I read your post, and then they almost popped out of my head when I read the P.S. that your 74 year-old mother walked the whole route. I thought of you so many times this morning, and I'm sure many of us were willing you to do exactly what you did -- to picture us right there cheering you on! Wow, wow, wow what a story. Your best time ever! Maybe the angels were flapping their mighty wings to give you a little push along, ha ha ha! And your son and husband ran after driving til 3 am, and your other son hit two home runs in the first inning?? If someone wrote this as a movie script, people wouldn't believe it! But we who know the awesomely mighty power of our Lord BELIEVE.

Good Sunday morning everyone!
Psalm 118:24 came to my mind this morning before I even read Psalm 118 today. "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Also Psalm 118:1, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting.
There is so much to be thankful and grateful for what we have and what the Lord has done for us.
I am so thankful for the Lord's protection this week as there could have been a fire in my apartment. An outside plug, had started to smoke but stopped. The wire was loose and we had a man on the property who had washed down the building outside to get ready to paint the outside of the apartments. The man had already sprayed painted my outside wall. The day before, half of my apartment lights were not working. The maintenance man came by and found the problem with one of the inside outlets but I never thought to check the outside outlet on my patio. After the maintenance man left, I went out to my patio and there I saw the outlet black and black on the wood. It wasn't on fire. I immediately went and got our apartment helper to see this. The maintenance man came back the next day with a new plug for that outside outlet. I am so thankful to the Lord that that plug didn't start a fire to my apartment.
Praying for all of you. Thank you Lord for this great group of people here. Praying for each other, encouraging and uplifting each other.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
I want to thank you all for sharing your lives with me, and not only your lives but your families. My family is so small and so far flung. I feel like I am running along with some of you, walking along with others by railroad tracks, looking at 4 petaled flowers that resemble crosses, praying for fathers and Memaws and friends and co-workers, for your sons' and daughters struggles and celebrating your victories with you and even ride on rollar coasters. I read all the comments every day even when I don't add to them. This is a momentous time for me in continuing this Bible study! There are many things I have tried in life and not completed - but I feel this will not be one of those incomplete ones.
My new - Psalm 113:4-6. You all know me and my star gazing and awe at the expansive universe God created. Now the Psalmist tells us that the Lord is so high He has to stoop down even to look into heaven. Per Jon Coursoon - "Imagine, then, how far He has to stoop to get on our level." No wonder Paul says," Great is the mystery that God was manifested in the flesh - that He became one of us in the Person of Jesus Christ." 1 Tim. 3:16. And he died for my sins.....................Past and future.
I think of this enormity every time I fly on a plane and look down to the ground. "What is man that thou art mindful of him?" And I am looking down from our atmosphere! God is looking down from ABOVE the heavens". How many million light years is that away? And he loves me unconditionally.
Now I see thru a glass darkly but one day face to face!!!
