A Word for Me
I just love the Lord!

I have been a bit "out of sorts" this week. My house is back to looking like a tornado came through. I am behind in this, that, and the other. I am sure everyone can relate. I am just not myself.

I have not "felt" like getting out of bed to meet Jesus. No offense to Him. He knows I love Him but it has been hard for me to get out of bed in the mornings. This morning was no different. I got up, almost in tears and walked to my Jesus chair and knelt down at His feet, laid my head against His lap, and said, "Help me Lord. I am not myself. I don't know why. I am overwhelmed. I am tired. I am overwhelmed." (I know I just said that. I said it many times in my desperate cry.)

I got in the chair, opened His Word and begin to read. I am reading through the Bible in my Chronological Bible (if you don't have one of those, you must get one. It is the best way to read through the Bible.) and am now reading Psalms. It is no accident that I read this Psalm this morning:

Psalm 145:14
The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
145:18-19
The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him;he hears their cries for help and rescues them.

My heart begin to worship and praise Him. He indeed heard my cries. He was lifting me and helping me from falling beneath the bent of my load. Wow! How Marvelous! How Amazing! From one moment to the next I was being transformed. So many times we need to do what is right instead of what we feel. I felt like staying in the bed but I did what was right, giving no regard to my feelings. He blessed me. I put my feet first instead of feelings and He brought my heart in alignment with my head. Oh, I love Him.

After He brought my head and heart into alignment I read the next Psalm in my reading. Check out these verses:

Psalm 89:15-17
Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness. You are their glorious strength. It pleases you to make us strong.

Look at verse 15, "who hear the joyful call to worship." He lead me to this place so I would not miss the joyful call to worship and celebrate the greatness of verses 15-17. He did not want me read them with familiarity. He wanted to give me and knew I needed to hear, a fresh word.

Those who hear the joyful call to worship:
  • Walk in the light of His Presence. Wow! In the Light where there is no darkness or shadow. Doesn't a load seem less heavy in the light. How I long to walk in light of His presence always.
  • Rejoice in His Wonderful reputation. What is Jesus' reputation? We can rejoice in His loving kindness, undeserving faithfulness, unmerited grace, tender mercies, all sufficient power, unrelenting love, and never ending forgiveness. Those are only the highlights. I bet you can think of more.
  • Exult His righteous. When we walk in the light of His presence, rejoice in His wonderful reputation, we will not be able to contain our extreme gratitude to Him. We will not be able help but exult His name and deeds to all.
The Psalmist then reminds those who hear the joyful call to worship that we can know that He is our glorious strength. It even makes Him happy to make us strong. Isn't that an amazing thought? He is pleased to make us strong.

On a day that I felt weak, a day that I felt overwhelmed, He gave me a Word to sustain this weary one. (Isaiah 50:4-read this if you haven't-it is awesome) There is a Word for everything!

Thank you precious Jesus. "Jesus, Jesus precious oh for grace to love you more."

Standing On the Word today,

I now know why I have had a burden to pray for you this past week. I love the verses and the great reminder.

You said it girl! God is so good, He is faithful and rescues us from ourselves when we give our all to Him. Jump over to my blog and you will see what 'darkness' God swept away from my heart, when I, like you, gave it to Him at the foot of the cross.

Love ya!

Your blog was what I needed today. I had a night last night in which I was feeling very tired and overwhelmed. I was crying out to God for His strength, and to know He was there and hearing my prayers. All the blogs I have been on this morning has given me the encouragement I needed. Thanks!

My whole life has been one of bondage. I was saved, but I was so stricken with low self-esteem, pride of who others thought I was, and just plain defeat. I questioned how to get joy and peace - I wanted it desperately, but couldn't obtain it. Years filled with depression, fear to go to church, and now drug abuse, led me to a place where I had nothing left. That's when I truly met Jesus. He has turned my mourning into joy and the faith of a child. I am no longer a victim, but a victor! My Abba Father, my daddy, is taking care of me now; walking in front of me, instead of beside or behind. Yes, we need to do what we know is right, not what we feel.

Isaiah 55:9
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your waysAnd My thoughts than your thoughts.
