Guilt: The Most Holy Offering
"These are the instructions for the guilt offering.
This is most holy."

Leviticus 7:1

My Take Aways

Something Old:
All God wanted was fellowship with His children. He made away for the Israelites through the sacrifices. He made away for us through Jesus Christ.

Something New:
Leviticus 7:13
The peace offering is made with four loaves of bread made with yeast and one loaf made without yeast.

Something to Do:
Live like I am forgiven. Not living the reality of my forgiveness makes a mockery of the Jesus' sacrifice. Forgive me Lord.
Congratulations to yesterday's winner: Jenni Saake

Dear Brandee,

I read your post from last night and immediately prayed for Will!

2 kings 20:5 "Return and say to Hezekiah the leader of My people, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of your father David, "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears ; behold, I will heal you. "

Jer. 33:6 "Behold, I will bring to (you) health and healing, and I will heal (you); and I will reveal to (you) an abundance of peace and truth."

Psalm 91:9-12
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the Lord, who is my refuge-- 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone

I don't have time to post more this morning, but I did want to lift Will, Brandee and John up today.

Peace be with you,

Karen

Good Morning to You All~

Brandee, I've been praying to our God, Jehovah-rapha, the Lord, who heals... for little Will and for you and John.

Wendy, wow, you, once again have given us a lot to ponder over today.

My New: I am loving the different offerings this year. Each had their own purpose. I was drawn to the peace offering. It represented a peaceful relationship with God, as well as with others. It was a time of involvement and fellowship which is a perfect picture foreshadowing the Church. This offering renewed the fellowship between God and man. A guilt-free relationship with God allows us to show love and peace in our conversations with other believers.

Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you..."(John 14:27). Every Christian receives the free blessing of God's peace when they have chosen to submit to His will.

Shalom~ Lori

Once again this morning, I am speechless as the Lord speaks through everyone that contributes to this blog! He is mighty and powerful! Glory be to His Name! I must carry the message around with me today and ponder and make time to hear what the Lord is saying to me! What a wonderful journey so far this year! Thanks, Wendy!

This is my first day studying with you all. I love this idea of keeping one another accountable..sharing what the Lord is doing...

Guilt...somedays I know I wake up with the heaviness of it. (this morning happens to be one of those days) Our Enemy loves to camp right here ....I can wear guilt and shame as a covering...trying to hide my sin...deal with it Guilt can keep me from so much of the life the Lord wants for me.....etc....But our God is so amazing...HE WANTS us to have freedom from the guilt...get it into the light....REPENT...call it what it is that is making us fee guilt...SIN...then take the remedy!....seek HIS forgiveness...BELIEVE what HE says.....and as Wendy's Blog title describes...Experience (or live out ) the real meaning of FREE! I ask for your prayers to believe this and live it out...by HIS grace today.

Thank you all so much for praying! Will slept very well last night and sounds somewhat better today. Still has the deep cough, but his congestion is breaking up some and his fever is not running as high. Thank you so much, it means alot to me you all are praying for us.

What great thoughts to think on today. Just to share an experience with guilt I have had...yes, the enemy keeps us trapped in guilt but sometimes I have found that the Lord brings issues up in my mind again because even though I have made it right with Him, there is another step to take. I have to make it right with others. I think this is where we have to be seeking God for direction and praying through what we feel. He will guide us. This particular situation, which I have had several, was not healed until I made it right with the other person. Then the joy and peace as Wendy has talked about returned.

We are going to be having another day of playing Mario on the Wii and watching movies. Thanks again for the prayers. So far John and I are good and not sick. I know Will picked this up last Friday at school so hopefully we won't get it at this point.

Love you guys, I can't wait for our big Wendy's blog party in heaven :)

When I allow the enemy to rob me of my joy when he brings up my past to me, I have to remind myself of this.

Ps 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Praise Him for He is worthy to be praised!

Prayers for Will,Brandee! My college-aged daughter had H1N1 last fall...and boy was that kind of scary having her so sick in her apartment 90 miles away....she was really ill about 3-4 days and then coughed and was congested for a couple of weeks after. I'm glad to hear Will feels like playing and watching a movie.

At the ordination of the Priests the ENTIRE community of Isreal assembled at the Tabernacle. Remember we're talking over a million people! Will that be what it is like on judgement day? All of us standing in front of our Most Holy God?
I also noticed that Moses did the washing, annointing, dressing, and offering presentation himself. Moses was a foreshadowing of Christ, Who did it all for us too.

Living in His freedom;
Morgen

Blessings of the day!

Ordination Day - In Tune with God.

I was struck again this year as I read by the ceremony of the application of blood from the ordination ram to the right ear, right thumb and right big toe of Aaron and his sons. Hearing, feeling & works and walking in tune with God, married to the altar. I just find that so powerful!

I had not noticed it was a seven day ordination ceremony.

My to do and to remember today is the freedom that comes from being made right with God. By shed blood we are atoned and by grace and mercy we are able to return our excess back to Him with praise in thanksgiving.

"When you present a peace offering to the Lord, bring part of it as a gift to the Lord. Present it to the Lord with your own hands as a special gift to the Lord." Lev 7:28

Amen!

Praying our steps match his, the work & offering of our hands please him, and our ears are open to his call,

Brandee, I prayed for Will last night and again this morning. I'm glad to hear that he slept well.

I'm not feeling well at all today, either, so I'm going to make this short and sweet. Found this in where else? Jon Courson's commentary (I'm carrying this around everywhere I go now.):

"At the end of this review of the five sacrifices, notice the portrayal of the life of Christ from His baptism to His Crucifixion:

"In the burnt offering, we see Christ's baptism, for both speak of total dedication. In the meal offering, we see Jesus being tempted, for both show an absence of leaven, an absence of sin. In the peace offering, we see Jesus embarking on public ministry, for both proclaim/speak of the tidings of the gospel. At the Cross, we see the sin and trespass offerings, as Jesus died not only for our sin nature, but also for our specific acts of sin.

"I find it interesting however, that in the life of the believer, the sacrifices are illustrated in reverse order...

"A person gets saved when he realizes he has trespassed. Then he discovers he sins because he's a sinner; because he has a sin nature. He confesses his sin, asks the Lord into his life, and communes with God through the peace offering - at the Lord's table. Then he says, "Refine me, Lord. Take out the lumps and the leaven in my life." And finally, he says, "Don't only sift me, but consume me Lord, I'm laying my life down as a burnt offering. I want to be consumed by You." (Jon Courson's Application Commentary Old Testament, vol.1, pp. 381-382)

Have a blessed day, everyone!

Brandee, Prayed for you and family, glad he is doing better.

Wendy - WOW, were you in my diary again, ha ha. Thank you for all the good words and scriptures. There are days where the "guilt trap" can be so heavy and you are right we know and accept it from Gods word, but we need to apply it. Hard to explain, but you helped a light bulb go on.
Thanks again,

Hmmmm...do you think we may still carry the weight of sin because we have may asked for forgiveness from God..but have we gone to our brother or sister we may have sinned against? If that is the case anyway. We still have to see and relate to that person. Is that person still hurting. Am I still hurting after a person tells me they are sorry.

It's interesting I once heard that saying "I'm sorry" to someone we have hurt or sinned against only puts a bandaide on it for the person...leaving a scab to picked open at a later date...or never quite healing. It may make us feel better but it may not cover the hurt. Asking a person's forgiveness puts the choice to forgive in their court so to speak. Hopefully they will choose to forgive. Giving freedom, peace and joy to both parties so that the relationship can move forward.

"Forgiveness means giving up the hope that the past can be any different." We can't go back and redo life. Can we truly feel freedom if we are in bondage in the chains of unforgiveness. Often we are hurting ourselves more by holding onto past hurts.

Matthew 6 vs. 14 and 15 "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father wil not forgive your sins." This is a difficult verse for me at times...it weighs heavy on my heart when I find it difficult to forgive.

The hard part of forgiveness for me is when some act you have forgiven someone for...keeps reoccurring and opens up the wound all over again. Sometimes the person who needs forgiving isn't living any more. It still needs to be done in order to be able to move forward in life.

Of course we are imperfect and complicated humans who are struggling for the perfection Christ has shown us.

I am so thankful that God has made it easier for us to seek His forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ. And yes, there is freedom, joy and peace.

Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves and we need to forgive ourselves in order to heal and move forward.

We need to feel guilt or have a conscious for our actions without feeling overly conscious or guilty- in a way it is a form of God given discipline that keeps us in relationship and on the path of our faith journey.

I hope this doesn't take us too much off track...cause what Wendy said in her vlog rings truth.

I have yet to read today's scriptures, but I have been blessed in your video, Wendy, and in the comments from others.

I had read another blog this morning and Nikki had posted the passage in Matthew about Christ's death and what He did for our sins! Praise God, when ask for forgivenness, He give it to us! I like the verse JoAnn mentions from Psalms 103:12 "as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."

So thankful for the freedom we have in Jesus! Satan has no power over us. He can tempt us, but the best way to throw him off course is to preach the Word of God at him!

Good morning. My mind is so full of Wendy's message this morning and the wisdom in all of your posts this morning. I hope this makes sense, some of it goes back to yesterday's reading. Guilt separates me from fellowship with God and with others. Even after God has forgiven me and wants to welcome me back into His arms, my feeling of guilt keeps me away. And boy does the enemy love that! I need to choose to turn my back on the lies of the enemy and choose to praise the Lord. Psalm 22:3 savys that God inhabits the praises of His people. When we praise God we are drawn into His presence. A devotional yesterday from Nancy Leigh Demoss said:
"The tabernacle in the Old Testament was the place God set apart to meet with His people. In front of the entrance to the Holy of Holies--the sacred seat of God's manifest presence--stood the altar of incense, where every morning and every evening the priest would offer up the sweet scents, representing the prayers and thanksgiving of God's people who sought to draw near to Him. Those ancient rituals were types and symbols of relationship that we as New Testament believers can enjoy with God anytime, anyplace..." PRAISE THE LORD!

Brandee, praying that Will has a speedy recovery, also for you and John. It sounds like his day will lift his spirits.

The other night as I was watching the news they mentioned that Alaska's population is 600,000. So today when we read that Moses was to call the entire community together, I was amazed thinking that it equated to the whole of Alaska plus women and children. What a huge celebration that was and how important the ordination must have been that everyone came together.

I didn't want Moses to sprinkle the blood and oil on the fine garments of Aaron and his sons. Knowing that they were made from fine linen and hand made with care I couldn't understand why they had to be sprinkled. (This is what I gleaned from the commentaries) The blood alone wasn't enough. God wanted blood mixed with oil, and to have the mixture sprinkled on the priests so that it could be visible for some time. There was to be a combination of both the sacrifice and the spirit. "we need to know that double anointing, the blood of Jesus which cleanses, and the oil of the Holy Spirit which perfumes us."

These weeks are just flying by.

Wow, God's timing blows my mind again. I feel that this message was really for me today, driving home what was discussed in my Redemption group last night. We are dealing with shame, and I am having some real trouble laying my own guilt and shame at His feet. I know it in my head, but it hasn't permeated my heart. I think this is his next project within me and THANK HIM for that!

Everything was new today (often the case lately), but I really enjoyed everything you guys brought out to me (Debbie, your words really touched my heart today, thank you), and I took good notes. I'm going to check back as I have to work on this within me and will be held accountable with my group next week for an update. Thank you all for the verses to reinforce that. I'm going to go home and read them and journal and let God speak to me.

Bless you all dear brothers and sisters. I love the fellowship of this and can't wait to see you all in Heaven :)

Lev.4:1-35
Procedures of sin offering
God showed me that the bringing of the bull without defect and the slaughtering it before the Lord was like the conviction and confession of my sin to the Lord.
The instructions to sprinkle the blood of the animal before the Lord was like my regonizing and admitting my sin before Him. Then, the fat of the animal was to be removed. This to me was like the letting go, the removing of the sin from me. Last, the destroying of all remaining parts was to be taken outside and burned to ashes. This represented to me that I can know God's forgiveness and live overcoming my sin.
In today's reading Lev.7:7, we were told that the guilt offering and the sin offering were given with the same instructions. Both of the offerings were used to purify someone and make that person right with the Lord.
The Old Testament readings have helped me to understand that through Christ we can be set free from sins and I must confess, reconize and let go of my sins and then allow Christ's forgiveness to help me live in victory

Hi everyone,
I grew up on a cattle farm; my brother in law and daughter in law grew up with sheep.
As I thought today about all the animal sacrifices which were made for the people's sins, I recall the sounds of the calves seperated from momma, sheep ba's when put in a pen to be sheered or doctored. The animals could sense something unusual happening. This was especialy true of those to be loaded in the trailer heading to the slaughter house.

It would have been quite an experience when placing your hand on the animal's head that died because of my sins. Hearing its sounds as it was held tightly before having its throat slit.
Wow- it hits home.

Jesus willingly went through so much because of my sins.He died in my place so I don't have to pay for them myself. What unfailing love!

Lev.8:34 says the sacrifices were done to make the people right before the Lord.

Peace and love to you,
Linda from Ark.

Wendy, Your vlogs this week have been outstanding and so thought provoking...tears have been a part of my time with you, the GIG, and our Precious Lord as I have felt such a closeness to Him this week. I cannot believe that tomorrow is our 50th day together.

This week has been really difficult for me as the absence of my mom is truly settling in. I've had such peace during and since her death on Dec.6,2009, but I have needed to grieve for her....and I have this week!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!! I was afraid He'd given me too much peace. :) Those of you who have lost someone, you know how the heart can ache!!!
When I read Deb's comments about going to a brother or sister..., I thought of the last time our moma spoke to anyone--it was me. We brought her home from the hospital;Hospice came in , and in the wee hours of Thursday morning, I was sitting at her bed side, holding her hand. She was so heavily medicated that I wondered if she would hear me as I talked to her. I ask her to forgive me of anything I may have said to her and to forgive me for anything I may have done to bring her hurt. She struggled to say ...."Forgive.....You." Then I held her hand and prayed to the Lord asking Him to forgive me for any wrong I may have done to my moma. I felt such a peace then that I cannot explain. God was right there in that room with the two of us. Halleluia!!!!! for that feeling of forgiveness from my moma and my Heavenly Father.

My moma and I were very close; I retired last July from teaching to be able to take her to dr. appts. and blood transfusions, so we had so many wonderful talks about everything. She was more than grateful for all I had done for her, but I just felt that I needed to ask for her forgiveness ( I guess I felt that guilt ). God gives us beauty and peace even in the death of one of His children.

So, Deb, thank you for what you wrote...I knew I had to share how the forgiveness of my mom and of the Lord gave me that feeling of freedom that I will carry with me until my death.

In His Forgiveness,
Jeanne

Wendy, this is my first comment, but I have been with you and all the others from the beginning. WOW...today I could have been you saying those words about guilt. I have been the same way.I have let the enemy rob me of the joy I know I should have. That is one reason that I started this bible study. I wanted the Lord to show me how to get out from under it. I know He has led me to this study...I have already learned so much and I feel God speaking to me through his Word.Today just confirmed to me that I am here with you ladies for a reason. The one thing I desire is to have that intimate relationship with God.I like you am going to start living like I am forgiven!! Praise God!

Thinking of you with love and care.

Praying for you Oliva...may you be able to resolve your issue with shame n forgiveness. May God give you the peace which passes all understanding. He is so good and is always present even if we don't feel Him...know that He is there ready and willing with open arms to scoop you up and love you.
