"Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong."
1 Kings 3:9
1 Kings 3:9
My Take Aways
Something Old:
"An understanding heart"
understanding is Strong's 8085
It means to hear, listen, and obey. Oh Lord, give me a heart to hear, listen and obey you.
Remember "oh" is an interjection. It is used to get the attention of the one being addressed. I want God's attention on this one.
Something New:
Who is Abishag? (Ab-ee-shag)
The woman who cared for David in his old age.
Wisdom
the quality of state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled with the right judgment as to action
Wise
have the power of discerning and judging properly as to what is true and right; possessing discernment
Something to Do:
Now, O Lord, my God you have made me wife to Scott, mother to Blaire and Griffin and called me to ministry for your Kingdom but I am like a like child who doesn't know her way around. And I am here in the midst of your creation so great it can't be counted or explained. Give me an understanding, heart one that hears, listen, and obeys you so that I might take care, do my job and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by herself is able to do this job? Not me.

Now, O LORD my God, you have brought me to this place; a place where I am a foreigner, living in a strange land. I am unsure of my path, the hidden path on which You in Your wisdom lead me. Here I am in the midst of many nations of your chosen people, nations who are led and redeemed by you. Here I am with my husband who feels misplaced and adrift. You led us here; You answered our prayers and continue to bless us and provide for us. You are faithful in all You do and Your ways are not known to me. Please grant me an understanding heart so I may faithfully serve You and fulfill Your plans for me. Grant me wisdom to discern my husband’s fears and provide support to him, and understanding so I can serve my neighbors in this place. Grant me peace with respect to my adult children living across this beautiful world from me. Show me how to trust in You to address their needs; allowing them to fall or soar according to Your perfect plan.
I have seen You in Your sanctuary and beheld Your power and glory! You walk beside me each and every day and You never forsake me. You are holding my right hand. I am not alone and You will see Your plan for me fulfilled. For who by herself is able to serve this great people of yours?
Good morning GIG!
Wendy - I dug a little bit deeper into why Adonijah wanted to marry Abishag. I found this in a Jewish encyclopedia:
Abishag was considered a "wife" to David, even though she remained a virgin. Solomon interpreted Adonijah's request to marry her as a further claim on the throne. (According to law back then, a man's concubines became the inheritance of his heir). Because of her great beauty she merited the status of queen. It was not fit for a subject to appropriate things or persons that belonged to royalty. Solomon saw this as a threat to his throne and had his brother killed.
My take away:
Lord, you have made me a follower of You; a wife; a mother; a daughter; a sister; a friend; a banker; please grant me Your wisdom in these areas because on many occasions, in my own power I am clueless. All by myself I can do nothing; but in Your power I am all powerful.
Praise Him
Morgen
Good morning GIGs! Karen - lifting you up this morning along with all prayer requests from yesterday. I had a few thoughts from yesterday's reading and comments to share. Jacque - your prayer art must be absolutely beautiful. I wish there was a way you could post a picture! When I was growing up (I became a Christian in high school through an organization called Young Life), I was taught a simple way to pray that helps me stay focused as I tend to have that same wandering mind that one of you mentioned yesterday. I'm sure you've all heard of this - but it's the acronym ACTS - You pray in this order: your Adorations (praises) to God, your Confessions, your Thanksgiving to God, and your Supplications (lifting up prayer requests) to God. I find myself going back to that good old formula time and time again.
Wendy - I haven't listened to your vlog yet, but in reading your blog, I'm guessing that we have the same nugget - "Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong."
1 Kings 3:9
I, too, immediately thought of my family. I have 2 daughters. They are young now, but boy am I going to need wisdom and understanding for their teenage years - I can already see that coming!! Oops - all kids are up and I've gotta run. Y'all have a great day!

Now, O Lord my God, you have made me a wife and mother to 2 beautiful, healthy boys, but I am like a little child who doesn't know her way around. Here I am in the midst of a wonderful husband yet he does not know You and two young boys who challenge my patience and abilities as a parent each day, and yet I also know I am in the midst of your abundant blessings that you pour down on me each day through this precious family you have given me. Give me an understanding heart so I can be the wife you would have me to be to Marc, so I can raise these children to know You. Help me to discern the difference between right and wrong. Who by herself is able to do this? Not me! Apart from You I can do nothing. Amen.
Dear Father, Humbly I approach you. Faithfully, you have wooed me to you. I am surrounded by many extended family members that do not believe in you. As I serve them, please give me wisdom and knowledge to share my faith with them. Each day, increase my knowledge of you, for it’s You I want to know more. Place your perfect words on my tongue; open their ears so they will be willing to hear about you. Give me discernment to know when to share your love. Lord, help me to love them like you do. I want my whole clan to know you - to love and adore and worship you all day long. Also, dear Father, may you use me to bring my husband to you. May my faith that has been passed down to my teen-agers, not be lost. Thank you, that Jesus is in their heart. Thank you that you never leave them. When they go to the right or to the left, may you allow them to keep hearing your small voice, saying, come back to me. Lord, alone, I am nothing; but, with you I can do anything you desire. Use me dear Lord to further your kingdom. I love you with all of my heart. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
My heart is swelling with love right now! Blessings, Lori
Father, You have made me a wife, a mom and granted me the gifts of faith and knowledge, but I am like a little child who does not know how to be all these things and how to handle the blessings to Your glory. Here I am in the middle of a husband who does not believe in You and a son who is on fire. Lord, give me an understanding heart. Give me wisdom. I pray that wisdom will rule my life and the knowledge I know will be displayed in my thoughts, actions, words and decisions. I need to be guided by You to be a wife, to be a mom and to use the gifts You have given me to Your glory. For I can not do this on my own. May my prayer be pleasing to You, come and rule in my life today.

Amy~ I read your post from last night about the eating healthy foods. I have noticed that the more I eat the things that are processed the more I crave them. We have found out this week that my son is allergic to wheat/gluten and corn, which means all corn derivitives as well like high fructose corn syrup, maltose, dextrose, etc. I have to read all food labels really carefully and I had to do a clean out of my cabinets and get rid of any candy, gummies, gold fish, etc that had the things in there that are making him sick. He pretty much has been poisoning himself through food and we did not even know it! I am so thankful we now know so we can get him well and not suffer from chronic sinus issues anymore. It will take a while for it to get out of his system, but we are hanging in there and by the time he goes back to school in the fall he should not be so stuffed up. Plus we are fixing to start swimming all the time and that always helps his nose :) I just went through the whole food elimination thing myself so I know it works. By default all of us will be eating healthier because I have to keep the house clear of temptations that he will want to eat. The past few nights I have really cooked well and we have eaten lots of veggies. I have noticed him wanting to eat more often since he is not getting all the junk and carbs, but that is fine. It is all healthy stuff he is eating and he is loving the special chips made with veggies and the sunflower seeds :)
Jodi, I read your prayer. There is a whole group of us right there with you on being married to unbelievers. We do a group wide fast on Wednesdays, fixing to change to Mondays for the summer, where we pray for them. Just wanted you to know if you wanted to join us and did not know about it :) You can click on my name and my blog "Standing in the Gap" and there is more info on there and our posts for our husbands.
Ok, off to get my son to school and for my walk with my friends.
Have a blessed day friends,
Brandee
Good Morning my Sweet Sisters in God,
I didn't do today vlog yet or read any comments....will do when done posting this post.
Oh….How you gals ended my last few days!….Been feeling a little overwhelmed ….like Jacque mentioned May busy month….The day Wendy mentioned you have to rethink the way you think…just so cool because a few days prior I was telling myself this. Precious Sister Jennifer Renee you quoted Maybe I wouldn't feel so down like I do today.…Jennifer can I out of caring for a special Sister say this: Tell yourself Jennifer rethink the way you are thinking. Say instead This is the day that the Lord has made…..I WILL REJOICE and be glad in it. You do have a very sweet heart.
Morgen …Thank You for your prayers….the day my heart felt heavy…I really did need to start rethinking the way I was thinking that day. You all bring my negative thinking back around. I so appreciate it. Keeping Jim in my prayers.
Kristin in TX….the worrier in you.... I do this a lot too…( but I cannot seem to control the fear). Prayer for strength for me to give it to Him - all of it, all of the time…Your in my prayers. Hope your health issue is well.
Karen….May you always sleep well…..Know your in our prayers. I always enjoy your insight. Your comments I ALWAYS get something from them.
G&P I loved this: Courson writes: "Help us. Deliver us. Forgive us," we pray. But do we ever pray, "Purge us?" There is a difference between confession and repentance. Confession is admitting you've sinned. Repentance is turning away from sin...Purging is not easy. It can be painful. But here, the psalmist says, "Do whatever it takes, Lord to change us." (p.101)...Precious one your Dad has been in my prayers.
Jacque…What a special way to keep a prayer-log for us all. I loved it. Your so sweet. I would have you as a very caring person….a nurses cap filled with your love to so many lives you touched….A Mother so caring with much to give…A wife whom your husband couldn’t do without…A grandmother…showing them there is a way……Gave me an idea for Me when I’m out in my flower gardens…..when I look at a certain flower….Instead of my (impatient flowers) …..I will think of Jacque whom to me is the total opposite. (patient). This idea just popped in….many more flowers will be thought of as my prayer flower sisters. Wendy you are my Crimson King Tree….Oh the ideas is flowing…..Jacque was just wondering if you could put my husband with Me in My garden you have of me….He is my Gem, my best friend. He is so much of Me.
Michelle….Thank You! Thank You! Your such a leader…Your heart for all….so precious. You asked about my flowers on my blog …I did put a few more on. I am very new to this….blogging not for sure how to do some of it yet. I don’t really have the time right now for it. I am falling behind on our sons scrapbooks. These are keepsakes for them. I also love to encourage them through them….Mom always won’t be there. I always say to them when they start putting one another down….“This world needs more encouraging not discouraging.” I will than get a certain look…..yhea you know maybe Mom is right.
Bethany ….was nice hearing from you again. Great information about psalms 80.
Lori….Precious One…..Godstops..”Savoring the Observable Presence”…..send a prayer of thanks. Sister you are really really a special blessing to this group. Your notebook idea….this is tucked in my mind now. So many thought of you ….each time I read your comment….“indescribable you”…Thanks Sister
Teeny in NC (still in VA)….Praying for you. I only can hope I’m as strong and mindful at 80 as you are. Thanks for your inspiration!
Know your ALL special……
It has been a special Blessing meeting all the New Cali Girls……Mrs. A, Taylor, ……
Okay I know this is getting long….will post reading on next:
Just a Big Thanks to all
Rhonda
On to the reading….
Our words to our children are they listening?…..Or should I say are we (as parents) explaining? Today’s reading took me back to a conversation David had with Solomon:
David says to Solomon:
1 chronicles 22:12 “Now my son, …..and may the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, that you may obey the Law of the LORD your God as you rule over Israel.
Are we telling them how to succeed:
1 chronicles 22:13
…..For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the LORD gave to Israel through Moses……..
Do we tell them to:
1 chronicles 22:13
……Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!…….or is it easier for us to just do everything for them?
1 Kings 3:5
…..God said, “Ask something of me and I will give it to you.”
What does Solomon ask for: (something his Dad said to Him)
1 King 3:9
Give your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge your people and to distinguish right from wrong.
Lots to think about and pondering on …..
Go and do the same,
Rhonda
Wow! You ALL have blessed me this morning. I am finally down to just one Bible study...this one, and it's like a weight has been lifted.
I am subbing a half day later this morning, and subbing tomorrow, and have a photo shoot later this afternoon. I will be thinking of you all and praying for you during the day. Wendy, I will work on my prayer as well. Using the scriptures to pray God's Word back to Him is wonderful. Looking forward to this.
Hugs!
Susan
I, too, did some digging as to why Adonijah would ask for Abishag...After his treasonous actions before Solomon took the throne, Solomon had every right to have him killed...but Solomon was gracious and left him alone...If he had only accepted that he would have stayed alive--but no--he still wanted the throne and asked him mother to intercede so it would look like a matter of love not treason...
How often do I go just a bit too far and ask for something I have no business having...just leave well enough alone...
I have to run, but will return with my prayer...
Good Morning,
I did not know, Psalm 83:8b the descendants of Lot are against the Israelite
My nugget; wisdom & understanding is very important to God & I need it for my walk in this world because sometimes I just don't get mean people!
Wendy, I loved your challenge for us today to take 2 Chronicles 1:7-10 & make it personal. "God ask what do you want Mary? Lord you have been wonderful & graces to my mom who raised 9 children on her own after my dad died. You have blessed her many times over. You gave her miracles. Lord, continue to guide her & her children with wisdom, grace & mercy, to the ends of our days. Lord I need Your wisdom & understanding to be the wife, mom, daughter, sister, niece & friend that You want me to be. May my walk be for You & Your glory! Amen"
Blessings & Peace, Mary
ps Karen, I know the feeling of being in a strange land. The adventure of living in Europe is great, but sometimes you just need to hear American English lol. There are many opportunities to find work, friends,& things to do if there is a military base close by. In these trouble times the base might not let you use their facilities, but I am sure they can led you to off base activities. The US embassy has info also. Praying your adventure in Europe is blessed with joy & happiness.
Wendy, re your question on why Bathsheba agreed to Adonijah's request. I read that it's because she saw Adonijah was still a threat and she knew exactly how Solomon would react.
Also, the account of Joab's murders of Ner and Amasa bothered me because David didn't do anything to punish him. I read Courson last night. He said Joab was never punished by David because Joab was one of the few people aside from David, Bathsheba and Nathan (and God, ofcourse) who knew about Uriah's murder. Since he was a holder of David's secret, he did what he wanted. Now that David is dead, the secret is useless. Courson said (and I'm paraphrasing) that Joab thought he could use religion as a cover by running to the altar and he would be safe. Not so. God wants a relationship with us, not just a religion. We knew how it ended for Joab.
Ladies, those are beautiful prayers. I can feel your hearts in each of them.
Rhonda, I have been wondering about you. I'm glad you popped in. Thank you for the prayers, sweet one. Your garden must be beautiful. You're one of the blessed ones who can grow things. Me? Whatever is the opposite of a green thumb. My Dad is very good with plants, orchids, roses. He still has the orchids he & my Mom purchased in Hawaii 11 years ago.
My homework:
Dear Father,
Thank you for the family you have entrusted in my care. Lord, you gave me two boys who are blessed with smarts. I checked both times and they did not come with instruction manuals when they were born. Help me to raise them in the way they should go. Help me to direct their talents not just for their own gain but more importantly, for Your Kingdom. Give me the wisdom to guide them, encourage them and correct them when necessary. In the midst of all this mothering, help me to be a wise wife as well. Give my husband a desire to love and honor You. Help me to be his helpmeet and be an encouragement to him. I especially ask for an extra-large dose of wisdom in trying to figure out his needs - whether he communicates them to me or not. Thank you, Father that You bend down Your ear to hear us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Have a blessed day, everyone!
P.S., Lord, I don't know how I can forget but I ask for wisdom in dealing with my Dad's situation. Give me and my sister the words to tell him to convey how much we love and care about him. That his greatest need in this world is not an Abishag to take care of him in his old age but to walk in Your ways and to follow You.
Thank you, Father. We love, praise and worship You.
Welcome to all the newbies and hi to all my other computer Bible friends and thanks to Wendy.
You know me by now, I like to keep things simple. So my simple prayer is based on the AA Serenity Prayer.
Dear Lord, Help me to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things that can be changed and The Wisdom to know the difference. Amen.
Thanks to all, love and hugs to all and to Him who brought us together!

O Lord my God, you have made me a wife, mother and grandmother. First of all Lord thank you for the blessings they are in my life. I pray Lord that you would give me wisdom to be the wife you would have me be. Thank you Father for his faith and his example he sets not only for me but for so many people. Help me to encourage, support and submit to him always. Help me Lord not to be a hindrance to him or his ministry. Help me to be the mother you would have me be. Help me to love, encourage, and direct them. Help me to always point them to you. Thank you Lord for their slavation. I pray that they will always see you in me. Lord help me to pour into my granddaughter's life. Help me to teach her about you and again I pray she will grow up to see you in me. Lord I need your wisdom and knowledge. I can't do this on my own, only through your power can it be done. I am weak but in you I am strong. I love you Lord, Amen.
O LORD, you have made me who I am; a Christ follower and a mother to a wonderful son, yet I am like a little child who doesn’t know her way around. Please give me the wisdom and the knowledge to guide my son as he pursues your plan for his life. Give me an understanding heart so that I can help him make the right decisions about his school, his job, his housing situation, etc.
O LORD, I pray that you would grant me discernment about my job situation as well. As I am uncertain of the path you have for me, give me a heart to hear, listen, and obey you so that I may fulfill your plan for me. Apart from you I can do nothing. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Hi Again!
The Proverbs 31 page has some wonderful thoughts about those with children. Worth visiting.
And, yes, although they are adults and all over the world, my Mom worries still pester me. Help me to find comfort and assurance in the prayer on that page.
Bye again ! Dixie in Florida
Lord Jesus,
Please grant all these prayer requests. You see inside our hearts.I need and want wisdom, discernment, and a heart of understanding from You each day.
Poor Solomon, he had to clean David's house. Doing what's right is hard, but peaceful.
Solomon had killed:
1)brother Adonijah
2)priest Abiathar
3)army commander Joab
4)stone thrower Shimei
Did anyone besides me have to go back and check out what they all did wrong?
Solomon starts out strong in faith, but what happens for life to be empty as in Ecclesiastes?
Guess we will find out if we stay tuned:)
Lord, hold our right hands today as we travel through this world.

Brandee, I just read as far as your comment above and had to stop and reply. I just read the book "Eat Well, Live Well" and it is full of recipes that are gluten/wheat/corn free. Maybe it would be something that would help you? It's not really a faith based cookbook but supposedly an evolutionary theory, but while I think the base is wrong, parts of the idea is good ... and the recipes look very healthy and yummy. Maybe that would help Will? There's even a recipe for peach half moon pies ... a personal favorite!

God,
You have been faithful to this family for generations. You have pulled us to You for generations, over and over, even loving those who at first reject You. You have given us the example of many faithful, kind, gentle people to lead the way. Please teach me to continue the legacy left by my family and mold me into the kind of gentle and loving woman that You would have me to be. Show me how to be a loving and respectable wife and how to make wise decisions for this family. Lead us, please, God, for we can do nothing without You. Help us to be strong for You in this crazy world and to let Your love shine through us to others so that we may be an example of obedience and wisdome to those who come after us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I had to let you all know that my day has been going quite well. It's a nice sunny day and my outlook is sunny as well.
This morning I went to the dentist to have molds made for my two crowns and the dentist put temporary crowns on. Besides having to be given four shots of Novocain and having to pay lots of money it wasn't a bad visit. When I was given all that Novocain I started shaking a little. Too much Novocain always makes me feel a little sick. Of course I was probably a little hungry even though I ate before leaving this morning. I'm tired and my jaw is a little sore but I'm doing well.
I had a little frustration today. I had ordered a new part for my vacuumed cleaner. I got it today and I had ordered the wrong part. I ordered the correct part today but it can be a hastle to send things back.
God is still good.
Father God,
Please give me the wisdom, discernment and knowledge as I have completed my leadership role in your ministry and now I am discerning and praying who to ask for the new leadership in the fall. Thank you for your guidance, help, support and my mentor who call just at the right time yesterday. We want wonderful, spiritual women to lead our group this coming fall and I know you have them in mind, please reveal to me who it may be in your perfect timing...
Kris and Grace&Peace,
Thank you for the encouraging words
on my new blog. Please visit again. I included an explanation of glow, grow,go on May 17.
Other visitors are welcome, so join me as I walk this "country road of faith."

Well, just popping back in to surround my self with Believers! Getting ready for my Dad’s 77th celebration, with our clan of unbelievers! I do believe May is the busiest month –well, I take that back, there is always December fighting for first place!!
Michelle, I missed you today! Ya know what? Today I went out of my comfort zone a bit more. Last year, sister Wendy talked to us about being “quiet” when we pray…well, just like a good teacher, she’s been reviewing the concept again…thankfully! I’m the student that needs to hear it over and over. Any who, I’ve been obediently listening to God. And, what He’s been saying is, slow down, daughter. I will guide you who needs extra prayers today…and ladies. He did! This is going to take some practice on my part, but I do believe the blessings are going to be worth the stepping out of my box. Trying a new way – pausing and letting Him take the lead!
Today, sweet Michelle, you worked up some calories, in me! Smile! As I was praying I just felt overwhelmed at what you’re experiencing. Your daughter getting married. That in itself is enough. Moving OUT of the state! Your son looking for a job – in this economy. Details. Lists: to do’s. Your precious husband. Knowing his feelings - they do tend to hold them in, I know. But. Now, the job – change-up. Sister. As I was praying I was taken back many years. God brought to me, my situation, that I was faced with. Most likely similar to yours, twin! Smile. I was teaching 9th grade - and my program was combined with another program due to lack of numbers. I was the newest one hired. So, I was forced to leave a school I loved. I had no intentions of ever leaving. I was exactly where I wanted to stay put. I’m not exactly the ‘changing job’ type of person. Any who, low and behold, guess where I ended up? FIRST grade! Almost hilarious I know. From grade 9, down to grade 1. My prideful self went out the window and I became a new, Mrs. Humble. And, the good part Michelle, it was all God. Every bit of it. My new school placed me around a body of Believers. I was welcomed in with open arms. I never wanted to leave this school! I ended up getting pregnant, along with several other Christian ladies, at the school. The poor principal did not know what to do. We were all getting pregnant right and left! Many of us left teaching to stay at home, and we remain close and dear friends, to this day! So, the change was good…No coincidences sweet Michelle, God has you in His plan. He has you in His strong hands, too! I will keep you in my prayers. Love you!
Janet, Glad to hear your husband is recovering well. Hope we’re treated again to get another pop-in, from you! Thank you for praying for our group of ladies. That means more than anything!
Ya'll, your posts have been such a blessing, just what I needed to get me through the rest of the day!
Hugs, Lori
Hello GIGs,
My prayer: (Thanks Wendy! I love praying God's language back to Him!)
Father God, you have been so kind to me, your daughter, your princess, but I am like a little child who doesn't know her way around this big world of yours! Give me your wisdom that you promised to give liberally if I ask for it. Give me wisdom as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, sister and friend. Wisdom with the women's group that I recently started at your nudging (you know I feel like Moses here:-) But you made my mouth - give me your words, your ears, your love, your compassion, your mercy, your kindness and an understanding mind and heart. Thank you Lord for all that you have placed in my world, including these friends walking through Your Word with me, bless them all and their families, letting Your light shine in the dark places of our worlds.
Your loving daughter, Nancy
One more thing,
I've missed y'all these last couple of weeks, as I was behind in my readings. Just got caught up yesterday! Yeah!
Jacque, I LOVE your colorful prayer picture! Am gonna look for that book and also share with an artist, ADD friend of mine. I also had tears in my eyes as I my mind's eye saw your picture. Such a sweet thing you are doing! Thanks for sharing!
Lori,
Happy 77th Birthday to your Dad! May he (and all your relatives who will be there) be given the gift of everlasting life with Christ. May God use you mightily, dear sister as He has used you in our group.
Hi All! Have been so blessed by the prayers written from all you GIGs.
O Lord, you have been so faithful to my family, granting us blessing after blessing. As you have placed me in the family, one that is growing with new grandchildren (love them, grant me the wisdom to step in, to step out when needed. Help me to be an example of using the talents and gifts you endowed me with, so that they may be encouraged to use their talents and gifts. Stay close to me in this journey you have me on so that in what is accomplished, you will be glorified. Keep my eyes firmly on you, my ears open to your words, and place within me the discernment to know right from wrong. I can only lead with you guiding my every step.
Yours,
Gaylene
Now, O Lord my God, you have made me a wife and mother of three children, with a daughter-in-law and son-in-law who all know you as Lord and Savior. But I am like a little child who doesn't know her way around without your help. And here I am in the midst of your creation so great it can't be counted or explained. Give me an understanding heart. Your word says that if I lack wisdom, I should ask You and You give generously to me without finding fault. So I ask for, seek after a discerning heart in order to lead well and to make right decisions. Give me the wisdom to know what to do and the courage to follow through on it. For who by herself is able to do the work You have called me to do? In Jesus name I pray ~ Amen
That last post was from Kris ~ sorry forgot to put my name. See everyone in the morning.
Hello All,
A little late wit hthe post but trying to catch up!
Thank you Wendy for the challenge. Personalizing SOlomon's prayer really made me focus on the importance of praying for wisdom and understanding as a child of Him, wife, mom, daughter, friend, and dietitian in this marvelous creation of His.
Amen!
Paola from Long Island!
Oh Lord, you have made me a Christian woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. But I am still learning what Your will is for me. I am to be a servant to all people who surround me. Oh Lord, please give me a discerning heart so that I can build relationships with people and give me the ability to distinguish between right and wrong according to Your standards. Please give me wisdom so that my actions bring honor and glory to You. Amen.
Lori thanks for thinking of me. :)
Homework: Lord God I thank you for entrusting in me, My Husband and children and grandchildren to nurture and guide. I thabnk you for my job you have blessed me with . In each of these tasks I ask for your guidance to do them right. Lord God, Lead me, guide me, direct me and correct me. And may I always hear and obey your instructions. Amen
