I changed the title of my blog a few weeks. After much prayer I believe this tagline really fits who I am and what my (our-mine and the Lord's) ministry is all about. In a few weeks you will notice a change in the subject line of your email each day.

Today I wrote a devotion. It is the first time I have written in quite a while. It was wonderful to sit down and write. Wow have missed it! Tomorrow I am taking my daughter to see christian comedian Tim Hawkins. It is a girls overnight-er. I am taking a friend and so is she. Can't wait! He is super funny. If you have not seen him, google him. You will be glad you did. (Can you believe I just used goggle has a verb?)

Spectacular view of the redwoods, Wendy. You can even see the shekinah glory of God! Enjoy your weekend. We're going to visit my brother's family for my nephew's baseball game/birthday party tomorrow. Had a nice 30 minute walk around sunset. It was awesome. You know how they say that when you're going through a trial you're supposed to look up? Now I know why. When I look down, I see the road, cracked asphalt, dirt, damaged. But when I look up, I see the blue sky and the puffy clouds. The view is much better looking up! God even treated me to a beautiful sunset and little birds soaring and swirling around me. I believe I even received a Holy kiss or two with the cool evening breeze. It was a good time to be with Jesus. I walked, I sang, I cried and I praised. That is my GodSTOP for today.

Happy Saturday! So good to read all of your comments about taking care of our temple. About two years ago, my husband and I were facing some health issues (like Lyn alluded to in her post). I had horrible sciatica and my husband was heading for diabetes. We made a radical change in our diet and began low impact exercise on a regular basis (walking, yoga, pilates). I could no longer run because of my back. It made a huge difference! The diet changes we made are definitely NOT for all, especially for those of you with gluten allergies. We really rely on brown rice, barley and other whole grains for our protein source.
In general, I am very concerned about the US food supply. I think there is a lot of hormones and other processing aids such as antibiotics, particularly in the meat and dairy supply that is not here in Europe. I saw a big change in both of us once we are here.
On to today's reading. I found another diagram of the complex including Solomon's palace and the temple. It is from the ESVstudybible:

I loved the description of the furnishings in the temple and my NIV study bible also has depictions of these. However, I once again wanted to know why pomegranates were featured. The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia says in part:
The spies brought specimens of figs and pomegranates, along with grapes, from the Vale of Eshcol (Numbers 13:23). Vines, figs and pomegranates are mentioned (Numbers 20:5) as fruits the Israelites missed in the wilderness; the promised land was to be one "of wheat and barley, and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates" (Deuteronomy 8:8), a promise renewed in Haggai 2:19. In the lamentation in Joel 1:11,12 we have the pomegranate, the palm tree and the apple tree represented as withered, "for joy is withered away from the sons of men."
Smith's Bible Dictionary notes that the pomegranate was cultivated in Egypt and that is why the Israelites missed it. It has medicinal qualities, has been used as a dye, is used in the making of Moroccan leather (Cordovan...) and is the source of the spiced wine in the Song of Solomon. It is clearly an important fruit in the ancient world and appears to be a sign of peace, royalty, and prosperity.

I agree the food supply in the US is concerning. Modifying the genetics, all the pesticide, all the corn in our foods is worrisome. Some stores are trying to make a change by offering local whenever possible organic fruits, vegetable, grass fed beef, whole grains in a new way. Buying locally, using sustainable products takes care of the world God gave us charge to. I love our Whole Foods Store but it is across town so is quite a trip. The food is a little more costly but so much better for our temples.
I am trying to learn how to cook with the grains such as barley, oats and wheat berries. I am hoping by taking good care of the temple God gave me I will have less back issues-I have the sciatica now!
And, with my daughter Kelly you can see her picture on my comment on her Make a Wish Trip. She has osteosarcoma cancer these foods in the Bible are so very healthy for her to eat to take are of her temple. These foods in the Bible are some of the most nutrient dense foods. Our osteosarcoma cancer group as well as my son's medical rotation last month both talked about a diet of foods good for angiogenesis (if that is spelled correctly) which is now found to improve or clear up 70 different varieties of ailments.
Perhaps we should consider our food quality.
The Biblical foods in the versus listed in Karen's comments are all foods that are so very healthy for our bodies. The Bible verses are all foods that fit the angiogenesis scientific study foods. Hmmm, all we had to do was read what God gave the peoples of Israel to eat. And, I am sure the beef, sheep were all grass fed and not corn fed! Here, in the Bible is our guidance of what to eat. Now how many thousands of years later the scientific field is getting to figuring it out!
I have the tendency when going through a trial of looking down and not being able to see past my trial. In reading Grace and Peace's comment she creates such a great comparison. Surely it is much better looking up! Seeing those beautiful redwoods trees in the pictures which were taken looking up proves the point.

I have had some very sad tragic news regarding a 18 year old young man who has osteosarcoma. He and Kelly went through the year long chemo treatments at the same hospital and were often on the floor together. Rick is his name. His mom and I celebrated holidays together in the hospital with our kids. He is now home on home hospice. The family is very religious and Christian. Please, pray for a peaceful passing to God. This cancer can cause significant pain. I am praying for gentle leaving of this earthly life in moving to his eternal life with God. The more people we have praying I am sure the Lord will here us. Rick has about 2 weeks or so..

Karen, I appreciate so much the research you did for us! As I read, I wondered about the significance of the food and palm tree trees. And, I do agree that if we ate the way that they did in the Bible, we would be so much healthier.

My take away this morning was the temple Solomon built for the Lord. As we finished our Revelation Bible study and "Disciples" Bible study, both said that the "new" heaven was modeled after this temple! And, I did notice some similarities. Now, it is EARLY in the morning,and my brain is not awake yet, so I cannot share these! I would wake up the rest of the house looking for my notes, but I will get back to y'all later!

I just got around to listening to your vlog from yesterday, Wendy. Love seeing your dog in the background! You know, I am right there with you on the "need to do better w/ my temple" thing. I did really well giving up desserts (which I NEVER thought I'd be able to do) for the Joshua challenge. But the frustrating thing is - I GAINED weight during that time period. Ugh! I am not overweight at all - I'd just like to lose about 10 pounds and put me back to my pre-having-babies weight. What I'm struggling with, though, is I don't think my motives are pure. I understand that I need to take care of my temple, but I confess that frankly, I just don't want the pudge on my stomach during bathing suit season!! I feel like I am fighting a losing battle as far as exercising b/c I'm not seeing any results. There was a passage we read some time ago (I am bad at taking notes) that talked about how you won't succeed at anything if your motives aren't pure. That's a really lose memory of it. Anyway - I am rambling here - sorry! I just wonder if anyone else struggles w/ the vanity piece creeping in at this time of year.

Even if they are tucked safely into bed in our home, if it's their time, God will take them even then. There is a sense of peace in that thought. Bless you and your family.

Happy Saturday Everyone! Yesterday our internet was down,- most of the issues are fixed, but next week, hopefully everything will be resolved. Nothing is worse than not having internet access! I wanted to respond yesterday sooooooooo bad…Wendy, your question happens to be what I am passionate about. But. God showed me something yesterday when I walked that I could not wait to share with you, my precious, loved ones! It is long, but, please read it through for the best part is at the end!
I left to go on my walk, -getting to the end of my mental list, as I realized once again, I had been doing all of the talking to God. I quieted myself, waiting to turn on my ipod. I love ending my walk with praise music…well, I hear Him say, “stay still.” Oh, ladies it is hard for me to be still! But, I walked. I remained quiet. I waited. Nothing. I listened to the birds. I began to marvel at their chirps…so many different little peeps. Beautiful sounds when you really take the time to listen. Jennifer Renee, you came to my mind, as I knew these sounds would make you happy. But, quietly…I was walking. Walking & Waiting…wanting to turn my ipod on, but still waiting…sweet sisters. He spoke! He began by telling me how Wendy was chosen to lead us. But, each one of us was here for a reason. Not one single one of us got here by accident. Each one of us is carrying a burden. Each one of us is experiencing a trial. Many, are weighted down, - carrying loads too heavy. I felt all of our pain as I walked. Then, I saw Him drawing each one of us to His Word, through Wendy. I remembered what Brandee said, about His Word being our foundation. I realized how sweet and loving God is. He knew we would be weighted down. He brought us here, to equip us, so that we would not be alone when our trial came. Throughout this year, we each are learning how to turn our trials over to Him. To go to Him, first. To talk to Him. He is showing each of us that we are not alone. Not only is he walking beside us, he is actually holding our hand, and guiding us! This thought hit me over the head as I walked. He has placed us here with Wendy to show us how to live our life in peace. We, dear sisters, are never alone. If that was not enough, he told me that together on this blog, he is showing us first hand, just how important it is to be surrounded by a body of Believers! That we can’t expect to stay on His straight and narrow road, if we are trying to do it alone. The enemy is lurking, ready to pounce at any moment!
Ladies, I will have to say, once again I felt overwhelmed by His love. HE IS WITH IS. He will never, never give us more than we can bear. All we have to do is stay in His precious Word, daily. He will guide us where He wants us to go, as we cling to Him.
Now, by this point I was overwhelmed. But. He was not done. Smile. I thought he was through speaking to me, so I turned on my ipod. Sweet ladies, I was beside myself at this point! He began his conversation with me through Jennifer Renee, and the song that came on as soon as I tuned in, was meant for Jennifer Renee! Then, Morgen came to my mind! [Because she is in the Choir, I could just hear her singing!] Then, sweet Karen. Then, all of us, for I realized this song is our new GIG Theme Song! Seriously, you will not believe it until you check it out for yourself. Wendy, I’m hoping soon, you can put a link on your blog cuz you are so good with this tech stuff! Hi everyone,
Prayer needed. We still don't know what's wrong with Ryan. The doctor originally thought it could be parasite. The tests came out negative. Now, he is still the same state as he was a week ago. He has still don't have any apetite. He knows he has to eat to gain back the 10 lbs he lost. His stomach still grugles everytime he eats. When he tries to walk he gets tired easily and dizzy and sometimes black outs. He begins to realized he is not getting better. We are in the hand of our mercy GOD. Please continue to pray for his recovery. And the doctor doesn't have to do more testing on him. He have an ultra sound appointment on Monday to look at his gall bladder. Next will be to see a GI specialist. I pray that God will have mercy on him before all these test begins. Thank you. I know God is faithful. Sometimes it so so hard to see your child sick. I heart aches for him.....
Morgen!!! When??? Where?? Okay, you need to go to Interlaken and Lucern! Zermatt too if you can but the others are a MUST. Morgen, I remembered your post back in few days ago. you've mentioned about your nephew had the similiar problem like Ryan. My husband had gall stone when he was at Ryan's age (12 yrs old). Thank you for your prayer for him. I will definitely keep this in mind.

We bring before your our children; Kelly, Ryan, Will, Gabriel and Rick as well as the others not named here. We know Your will, Your way and Your time are perfect. But we don't suffer the little children to suffer! We do want them to come to you, but we would hope that it is spiritually and not yet physically. Only you know the plans You have for each of them. Susie- Rick and his family are written next to Kelly’s name in my prayerwork. I have such respect and love for hospice caregivers, who helped us through the last weeks with my sister Maureen. A year ago this week, I was caring for her last days in her home. Oh God of hope, send your peace and comfort to those who are sad and suffering because of cancer. Amen.

Rhonda, you are so sweet! You painted such a fantasy of me! I have drawn a “Gem” vine that wraps around you in an embrace! I love your idea of assigning flowers in your garden!
For my birthday, a friend gave me a stone plaque for my garden that says, “Friends are the flowers in the garden of life.” I have pondered this so much that I plan to write a chapter about all the varieties of friends! The annuals that bring color and joy for one season and leave, the bountiful foliage plants that support the background or brighten the shadows, the perennials, some with deep roots that are strong and faithful, the ones that pop up for a few weeks and disappear, the ones that bloom once but stay evergreen, or that are ever-blooming, the ones that need tons of constant care or pruning, the thirsty ones, the prickly ones, the invasive ones, the soft ones, the sweet scented ones, ones that do best in the sun, or best in the shade, the ones that hide their blooms on cloudy days, the ones that are not winter hardy (we live in Nebraska, zone 4!) and have to be coddled inside to survive-- you get the idea…. ! I think a flower garden is such a wonderful place to pray! It is just a whisper of God’s almighty wonder, and I am so grateful for His gift of nature!

To the friends who mentioned the book Praying in Color, it could also be subtitled, Doodling in Prayer (!), because no one needs to draw, it is just an exercise of doodling color and designs around a person’s name as you pray for them. It takes no talent and no extra time. I just wanted to personalize mine so that I can really feel more connected to you. You can see examples of it if you google the title. I am ready to add another page to my prayerwork as it gets larger—isn’t it awesome that our group continues to grow?!

Hi Trusting, your name is already inscribed, but I meant to say welcome before, as you tested the waters! I know how having older children makes you feel (older)! Congrats on your daughter's accomplishment!
About our Temples. God dwells in each of us, in every cell of our being; we are His home. God loves us so much that He is with us in every moment. But do WE love ourselves? Do we feel we deserve love? How can we love our neighbor as ourselves if we don’t love ourselves, including our Temples? We may have grown up thinking we were not loveable, or there were restrictions on the love we received, but this is not what God’s love is about. It is unconditional! If we truly feel loved by Him, we can truly love ourselves just the way we are, and feel deserving of taking care of this wonderful complex body He has entrusted to us. We don’t need to be perfect (and yes, my vanity gets in the way here), we just need to do our best for God.
If we love ourselves as God loves us, and we appreciate and respect our bodies, we will look for ways to build our Temple. We will eat the right foods and take supplements to stay healthy, we will get loving movement into our lives, we will avoid the pitfalls more easily. One day at a time, we will be healthier! And we will be happy with our bodies, because we are being kind to ourselves! By our example we can also teach our little ones to love themselves and their bodies just as they are, just as they are wonderfully made by God, so they can protect and maintain their Temples for His glory. Some days I fall off the wagon, but it is usually because I get into a selfish mode of indulging myself instead of loving myself. Loving is a choice for the good. It is the battle of being human. Dear Lord, help me to see that I am unconditionally loved in Your eyes, and help me to feel the worthiness of Your love in order to respect and care for my Temple. Amen.

Karen, how cool I thought it was when you said you speak German. My grandmother is from Germany and I've gone with her twice, ages 3 and 15, to visit my great grandmother. I have some wonderful memories from the trip when I was 15. With taking three years of German in high school and having a grandmother who speaks German, although she always spoke English, I don't remember how to say many words.
This Scripture made me think of Solomon's prayer.

Oh, by the way, yesterday I walked on my elliptical for about fifteen minutes. Then yesterday evening a friend from church who lives a few blocks away called and asked if I wanted to go walking with her. We walked over to the high school track and walked for almost an hour. She Ran and I used my cane to guide me around the track. I did jog a little but mostly walked fast.
Wendy, your daughter will enjoy Tim Hawkins. I've seen him on the Word Network. He is soooo funny!! I'm lol as I think about his comedy. I was going to get his DVD.

Bible verse…1 Kings 7:21, Huram set the pillars at the entrance of the Temple, one toward the south and one toward the north. He named the one on the south Jaken, and the one on the north Boaz.
The two hollow bronze columns, Jachin and Boaz (2 chr 3:17), stood free to the right and left of the temple porch. The names are related to God’s power (Boaz) founding (Jachin) the temple and his people.

This morning a group of us ladies from church were together this morning doing some spring cleaning of our church ….Cleaning the Holy Temple…. reading about the Temple of Solomon took me into some great pondering as I cleaned. Dusting each portrait of the different 14 stations of the cross I found myself in such deep respect for what he has done for us. I found myself touching his robe even the very end of it. Wiping his face ever so gently. Sending up prayers asking for strength to so many whom are carrying heavy crosses. Thinking of you Mothers whom your children are sick as on the fourth station “Jesus meet his afflicted mother” Know that I SAP for so many of you this morning.

I also wanted to mention I loved how you woven my "Gem" into the garden. Thank You. That Gem has driven through Nebraska many, many of times. Hasn't been out there to much lately. He made deliveries in Grand Island picked up loads in just to name a few towns Gibbons, West Point, Hooper Norfolk, Oneil. Next time going through I will have him blow His truck horn.

Hi Ladies
i have been following quitely in the last few weeks and the Lord has been blessing me in every way as i read what He is speaking into your lives. i am a bit left behind in my readings, i am in the middle of an audit and work seems to overwhelm me. i would like to ask for your prayers,my audit is 3rd and 4th of June, i run a vocational college and every once in a while a government auditor will come to ensure we are still following the framework given by the government. its quite a tedious exercise and i need all the strength and energy that the Lord can supply.
Today, i am reading where Solomon asked for Wisdom and Knowledge instead, of all the POwer and Money, I Loice would have asked. And i am humbled by this request. over the years, i have always prayed to the Lord for Knowledge and wisdom as my gifting. As years have gone by, i can testify that the Lord has been answering my prayers and i feel a wiser older woman every day.haha... haha..isnt it good to observe what the Lord does in our lives day by day.
Another thing i would like to share with you was a vision...i dont know whether a dream...or what... i had a few weeks a go.i saw a big old van stuck somewhere in a steep muddy place almost completely stuck in the mud. as much as i tried to get it out, it could not come out, it was destined to be fully covered in this muddy stuffy. As Wendy and you beautiful ladies have been speaking about to watch what comes out of our mouths, when i woke up, i asked the Lord, what is all that about. Here is what i got. i have been in a bad marriage for the past 23 years and out of that i have become a professional complainer. i complain about everything under the sun that my husband does. he makes a meal, its too salty...i never see anything good in him. Last week, Jeniffer Renee talked of having a shoe box with our blessings and thanks Giving everyday. what does Loices Shoe box have??? The Lord asked??? 23 years of complaining.... The lord asked...Loice for the past 23 years, havent i blessed you much more that all those complaints??? Havent i given you 3 beautiful children?? havent i kept you and your family healthy and well?? havent i protected you as i took you out of your homeland Kenya to Australia and blessed you in that foreign land as i did to the children of Israel??? Havent i made you a leader?? and on and on, it went. Since then, i am on the watch, i am asking myself, Lord i need to watch what i say, i am being drowned in this spirit of complaining. i dont want to be a complainer Lord.. i want to have sweet things come out of my Mouth. Lord with so much pain dug deep in my spirit, i need your Help to turn those painful experiences into Testimonies of Gods doing.. i am praying every day to see the positive and not the negative.. Lord Please Help me, i dont want to get drowned in my own complaining tongue when there is so much to thank you for.....

Eight o'clock in New England, husband working, son out at a friend's pool, daughter and fiance driving back from Tennessee, and I am just overwhelmed by all the beautiful posts I have just read. I have laundry I could do, or some sewing for the wedding, or any number of other things, but I'm going to get in my PJ's and SAP for all the prayer requests my GIG's have and then, as Lori said in her post that brought tears to my eyes, I'm going to "stay still" and listen for what the Lord might say to me.
May you all feel His caring, His peace and His gentle direction as you face what life has brought your way. He didn't promise us no storms, but He did promise never to leave us. And I am sooo grateful that He brought us all together here. Isn't it just amazing?

What great comments this weekend! I woke up really early today and have been enjoying spending time reading all the posts and your thoughts.
Wendy, the pictures are just amazing! I would love to go out to CA and see the redwoods. I took a dendrology (the study of trees) class in college and it was one of my favorites in all my Biology studies. I can only imagine from your pictures what they are like in person. Love the new heading as well! I did not even realize it until some others pointed it out :)
Susan- Happy Birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day yesterday.
Lori- Going to hunt that song up today and listen to it.
Jacque- the flower garden thoughts were so good. I loved all the reference to different types of flowers/friends. God totally weeded by flower bed a few years ago, but He has now replanted the garden and it is full of beautiful flowers! :) Typing that just gave me a wonderful idea that also goes along with the praying and art. I think I will make a flower with my scrapbook stuff and put in my journal for each one of my closest friends. It will always remind of what you said and how God has plant them in my life.
Karen and Susie- I agree with you on the food supply thing. When Will gets out of school next week we are going to take a trip out to our Whole Foods Market to get some things for his/our diet. It takes us about 45 minutes to get there so it is not somewhere I can just go all the time. I try to buy what I can here in our small town. Our local grocery does carry some beef and chicken that does not have hormones and things like that. I also buy mostly organic dairy and some produce. On the produce I have a veggie wash that I wash all the fruits/veggies with that is suppose to get rid of any and all residue. I got it at Trader Joes and it seems to work well.
Speaking of Will, thank you Karen and everyone for praying for him. I have a praise to share, he is doing better! One week on his diet and we can start to tell a difference in his congestion and things. No medicines, no antibiotics, just staying away from the corn and wheat/gluten. I am so proud of him friends. He has been strong and he knows what he has to do and what he needs to say no to. We talk every morning about how God made his body a special way and how when he eats those things it is like he is taking poison. I told him about Daniel, a suggestion from my mom that I thought was great, and how he can be like Daniel. I have found him some treats that he can eat. I knew if I did not find some replacements for some of the things he likes this was going to be really hard on him. We found a good replacements for gummies (fruit snacks), chips and cookies. They are all so much better for him and he is getting fruits and veggies in a way that tastes really good to him. He has always been a good eater but he does love his snacks. The child has eaten a ton of veggies and beans this week and I know by pumping his body full of these good foods he is going to get well without all the medicine.

My Old/New/To Do today is in 1 Kings 8:22-53 where Solomon is saying the prayer of dedication for the temple. I took the time to write out a prayer based on this passage of scripture, but the key verse for me was 29, "May you watch over this Temple night and day, this place where you have said, 'My name will be there.'"
This reminds me of Ephesians 1:4,11 and 2:1-10
"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love...In him we were also chosen,having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory."
"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. We each were chosen, He chose to risk His name on me. He has said, "My name will be there." And I know I am thankful that He watches over me.

Allie, this morning the Lord put Ryan on my heart, and you, and I want to share a little acrostic poem I wrote last month, about HOPE, which is what the Lord wants you and Ryan to feel as you face discomforts and anxiety and sadness due to his illness.
Honestly seek Him
Openly praise Him
Pray for His continual help
Eagerly await the fulfillment of His promises
And then I thought of Jacque's "doodle prayer art", and I pictured Ryan, resting in bed, creating a sign for his room with the word HOPE in the middle and colorful doodles all around it of things he likes, or would like to do (or eat :) when he is feeling better and has more energy.
Almighty Father, we praise you for giving Allie the strength and compassion and mothering skills she needs to help her son Ryan through this challenging time. We praise you for giving them doctors who have been able to figure out what Ryan does not have so that they can eventually treat him exactly right. We praise you for giving us the amazing MRI technology that may lead to answers about Ryan's illness tomorrow. Lord, thank you for all things, which we know come from you, and for the plan you have for Allie and Ryan's lives, which only you know. In Jesus' name, we pray that today will be a day full of hope and peace, and trusting in the Lord, for Allie and Ryan. Amen.

GP, What a walking area to worship God in! What I've noticed is that the birds take turns while they "chat." I'll hear one, then another, and it continues to go on and on! But, there is always a split second in between the different tones. It's interesting. They all don't chirp at once! They have manners!

Good Morning ~
Today we read the longest recorded prayer in the Bible. I love the two accounts presented -many points to ponder and think about. I noticed that “[Soloman] knelt down in front of the entire community…He prayed” (2 Chron. 6 13 & 14).
“and if they turn back…and pray…to you here in this Temple {today, dear sisters His Temple is in us, we don’t have to go far to talk to Him!} then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people…and grant what they ask of you” (2 Chron. 6:24,25,33).
Sooner or later, we all go through a period of suffering. Who allows this? God. Satan. Us. God’s Word gives us a plan to follow in Soloman’s prayer: turn back, pray, repent, and ask for forgiveness, and thank Him for His forgiveness. Our suffering can be used by God to transform us into a new person. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us (Romans 8:18). God allows amazing things to happen in our lives which bring Him the Glory.
It just keeps pointing us back to His precious Word, dear GIG! We need to be grounded in His Word. Ready to cling to Him through any suffering, holding His hand as He guides us along. Believing in Him and trusting in Him. “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” (2 Chron. 5:13)
Thank you, “O my God, for your eyes are open and your ears are attentive to all the prayers made to you from this [blog]” (2 Chron. 6:40). Grant us sisters all the wisdom you can give and “teach [us] to follow the right path” (2 Chron. 6:27). Humbly, we join together across the miles in awe of You. O LORD, God there is no God like you in all of heaven and earth. You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all [of us] who walk before you in wholehearted devotion.” (2 Chron. 6:14). We will praise you all day long! Amen.

Loice, the following scripture has helped me through many challenges of negative thoughts. I hope it helps you too, Philippians 4:8 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.' Think about these things! This is so powerful! The short of it, to have positive thoughts is to choose to think of the good, the blessings that God gave us in our lives. When the negative creeps in I claim Phil 4:8. I think 'about these things',of the blessings of my day. I give thanks to the Lord for them.

Happy Sabbath GIG! Great posts friends. Loice...I know I have caught myself being such a complainer too. The other way feels so much better to my spirit. And if people are used to you complaining alot...it should be fun to witness their reactions when you start lifting people up and being encouraging! Your heart will feel light! I SAP for you to gain control of your complaining with God's help....amen.
I wondered what happened to the manna and Aaron's rod that were originally in the Ark...also Moses had placed the 1st 5 books of the Bible in their too...but now we read that only the stone tablets were inside. I didn't really find a good answer...obviously they were removed at some point; but I did find a cool commentary:
In summary, it stated that the True Ark is Jesus. He is the bread of life...all of those who had eaten the manna have since died. Aaron's rod that budded signifies Jesus' resurrection. And a cool point that was made: (John 20:12) "she beheld two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying". Well friends, what did we have at either end of the Ark? Angels! 2 cherubim that hovered on either side of the blood spattered mercy seat! Jesus has fulfilled all that the Ark stood for. You betcha!

Loice, it was so good to once again hear from you. I pray for you and your daughter daily, but now I will be able to pray more specifically, and I like that. I, too, have had to repent and be a more positive and loving person to my husband, who is really a wonderful guy deserving of this treatment (despite many minor annoying habits I just try to overlook and "offer up") and you know, it feels wonderful. Remember what Wendy spoke on earlier this week - wisdom has two parts 1. knowing what to do and 2. doing it!! Sounds simple, but it is a challenge sometimes, isn't it. But it's worth is when we see a transformation in our household and know we are being the women/wife/mother God wants us to be. Now, how is Wangui doing?

Good morning,
Here is what stood out to me today. 1Kings 8:41 In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel will hear of you. They will come from distant lands because of your name, for they will hear of your great name and strong hand and your powerful arm. And when they pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven where you live, and grant hat they ask of you. In this way all the people of the earth will come to know you, just like your own people Israel do.
God is available for everyone. We saw in our reading that both Jews and gentiles worked together to build the temple. Then in the above passage Solomon prays for the foreigners that will come to the temple and that God will hear their prayers. He prays that they will come to know the true God. The church is a place of outreach.
We are like the church and need to set a good example for others. I need to let the light shine through me and reach out to others.
I am off to get ready for church now. I am praying for everyone’s needs.

Pentecost Sunday Everyone….
This is a great day to personally recommit yourself to your baptismal and confirmation promises and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen the Gifts of the Spirit in you and all of us! The Gifts are Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Counsel, Piety, Fortitude and Fear of the Lord and help us to grow in holiness.
This Pentecost Sunday happened on a perfect Sunday…It was also graduation mass for the seniors and 8th graders. As they move to the next step in their lives. Son #2 was sitting among the 8th grade class last night in the evening service.

Bible verses for today 1 Kings 8:6-8, Then the priest carried the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant into the inner sanctuary of the Temple-the Most Holy Place- and placed it beneath the wings of the cherubim. The cherubim spread their wings over the Ark, forming a canopy over the Ark and its carrying poles. These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Temple’s main room- the Holy Place- but not from the outside. They are still there to this day.
Talking about our bodies this week being the temple all this week.

Just have to keep reminding myself (ourselves)….we now are a Holy Temple…..and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through “FAITH” How is my faith? It seems pretty week a lot of times. “OUCH”

So good to hear from you Paola and Loice--how is your daughter doing? It is so uplifting to pop on the site and see the ongoing caring and support everyone offers to each other! You have such good insights that help me think more deeply and help me to grow. And sometimes to laugh! ;) Mary, I love the idea of taking time to "smell" the flowers! We need to appreciate the friends God has "planted" in our lives and whatever special gifts they have been given! Thanks to each one of you for your faithfulness.
The dedication of the Temple stirred up so many memories for me.
Three years ago this week our new church was dedicated in a very sacred ritual. My husband and I were appointed to anoint the new altar with oil, pouring it all over, rubbing it in, and wiping the entire surface. There were many rituals-- something for all our senses-- music, prayer, incense, color, procession, along with the moving experience of being in this new church as a congregation for the first time. That ceremony was such a beautiful and holy experience. What a day of celebration!
Building a new church was an enormous undertaking! Ours is in an octagon that supports a magnificent domed ceiling. Talk about special skills-- not only in the design, but also in the challenging construction! I was fortunate to be a part of the “interior committee.” We were responsible for choosing all the types of stone for the walls, marble for the altar and furnishings, pew style stain and fabric, stains for the wooden domed ceiling cupola and beams, paint colors, slate and tile colors, light fixtures, carpeting, tabernacle design, the metalwork designs around the walk-in baptismal font and the perimeter, stations, just anything that was visual inside the doors of the church. It was a very long process! We also commissioned a Russian sculptor to create a larger-than life basswood corpus of Jesus on the cross as our focal point. We worked with him for over a year to arrive at a most significant moment in time — “It is finished” – as His eyes look out to us, representing that now it is our responsibility to carry on His work.
It was a great privilege to have contributed, appreciating all the work of so many. I know the Spirit was inspiring our committee as we made our decisions, because we have had no complainers! Only comments about what a humble and sacred space it is. We are just finishing decisions about the design of the last of the stained glass windows, and soon our work will be done. It took so many people and their enthusiastic energy to bring this together, but now it is a peaceful welcoming and holy place that lifts our hearts to God and gives us a feeling of unity.
I can really identify with and appreciate all the details of Solomon in the building of the Temple, because I understand all the tiny details that have to be decided and how they come together to complete something important! I just admire Solomon’s work in a time long ago, with a design in his head, coordinating all those master craftsmen, and 156 thousand laborers, and with all the work done by hand! God was, and still is, the Master Architect.
"Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth."

Ladies - I just have to take a minute to tell you all that I am so blessed by each of you. Your words of encouragement and honesty have truly changed me and challenged me as we've gone along this journey this year and I am grateful. It's great to hear from some of you who haven't posted in a while. Lori, thanks for asking about my dad (Fred). He has an appointment this Friday to have some sort of stress test, so more news to come...
Wendy, I just saw some pictures from your trip on facebook - it looks like you all had a great time, and your daughter is so pretty! She looks just like you. Thank you, all, for such love and support.

Thanks for asking about wangui, my daughter, she is still struggling to settle in and every morning we have to ask the Lord to send His angels to walk alongside her and to comfort her when she feels left out and lonely.

Heavenly Father, we come to you on behalf of Wangui, (and our Sister in Christ, Loice.) Please send Your heavenly angels to go before this girl, beside her, and behind her. Bring her peaceful emotions as she goes about her day at school, and trust that You will send positive companions into her life, in accordance with Your timing. But Lord, we ask that it be soon! (Matthew, 18:19-20) "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my father in heaven. For when two or three come together in my name, there I am with them." We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Just wanted to drop in and tell you about our Baptism service this morning. We had 4 little girls who have given their life to the Lord over the past several weeks and their Dads baptised them this morning. It was very moving to see these dads telling of their daughters decision to ask Jesus into their sweet little hearts. Some of those big men were in tears. It just shows how when we live our lives for the Lord how much they (our kids) are impacted. We also had a little guy baptised with these girls and he was just the cutest. I was watching his mama as the tears of joy flowed down her face. It was a sweet time in the Lord. Just wanted to share that with you. I hope and pray that everyone will have a great week.
