Good morning GIGS and welcome to day number 260.
I have a testimony to share.
First of all yesterday I killed my first fly ever. I know some of you might think I'm a little crazy for sharing this but for you who don't know I'm blind and it's not easy to catch a bug when you can't see it. It took my hearing and moving slow to get it. It was buzzing around my window and it was low enough that I could reach it.
Ok, now for a real testimony. My dad got a new car a month ago from Car Max so it had been previously owned for maybe two years. Someone at Car Max put two different size tires on it and after a few days it messed up the transmission. My dad could have returned the car with in five days if he didn't like it but he didn't noticed the tires until right before our vacation. After we got back he called Car Max and they were willing to put the correct tires on the car but my dad wanted them to either take the car back or fix the transmission. He's been fussing about this for a few weeks. I talked to him yesterday and asked him about it and he told me they were taking the car back and giving him a refund for the full amount minus $300 for some type of fees. He's been driving a rental car from Car Max since we got back from N.C. and they are letting him continue to drive it while they look for another car for him. Now my prayers will be that Car Max finds the same type of car in a color my dad can live with.
Oh, Wendy, what a beautiful song and I love it. It definitely brings out the sentimental side of me. I almost want to cry. During the entire song I thought about you. I thank you for giving to the Lord. I thank you for giving your time to do the vlogs each day and open up God's word to us. Sending you hugs today.
Happy Friday, GIGS,
Happy Birthday, Nana Barnette. I am grateful to you for touching Wendy the way you did, so that she can touch all of us across this great big globe who are reading the word with your dear niece daily. Thank you, Millie!!!!
My prayer time has changed during this challenge. I am on my knees (okay, I do put a pillow under my 54 year-old-knees!). I wait until I get my son out the door and get me ready before I pray, and I feel much calmer than trying to get it in before as I did last school year.
I have a big praise report! My daughter got a job yesterday, and it is better suited to her in ALL ways than the one that fell through for her last month! The one that fell through, though, led directly to this job, because they recommended her for this one! The good Lord really does work in mysterious ways. Thank you, thank you Lord, for providing Lauren with this job!!!!
Rhonda in NY, your husband has been on my heart this week. How is his new job going, and how is his health?
Praying for the kids today!
Have a blessed, 4:8 day all.
Peace and Gratitude,
Michelle in New England
I am THANKING my God today! So much to be thankful for! This is another day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
I too loved that Nehemiah said Please to God. If you think about it; why shouldn't it be our practice too? We expect our children to learn to say please and thank you to other people, and how much higher, how much greater is our God?
We're up and running at the bank. I didn't get home until after 10pm last night, and I have new, loaner equipment to figure out when I get to work this morning, but hey....I'm looking at the bright side. We're up and running!
Blessed Friday's to my GIG
Morgen
oh yeah...Beth Moore "Living Proof Live" simulcast for me tomorrow! Yip-Yip!
Hi Jennifer! I can just see you going after that fly! You’ve got me smiling sister! We will pray that the right car comes to the picture, for your dad!
Thank you Wendy for your devotion to the Lord – we sure receive the outpour of the love in your heart for God’s Word.
Donna, wow, what you have been through lately! Your wise wisdom (that’s a repeat, smile) is a bonus for all of us as read your comments! I’m adapting your motto, “ If I knew what God knows I would want it to be exactly like it is.” And, since we don’t know what God knows, we just have to trust that He’s got it all under control. No use any of us wasting our precious minutes fretting over the ‘what-if’s and the ‘what-not’s’ since that truly is sin. Worrying, - yep its sin. We just need to let go, and give it to God. He so wants us to yield it all up to Him. Let Him carry our burdens, and seek to do what He’s called us to do: love on those, He has placed around us.
My New Today, was that through our fervent praying, -eventually, - sin will be found out. (Ezra 10:1-2) Makes me wonder just how much we grieve our own sin, do we grieve it like Ezra did or do we take for granted the mercies of God? Lord, show me the sin on my heart, and make my desire strong enough to be rid of it!
Ezra lamented genuinely over the sins of the people of Jerusalem – just like Jesus did. Twice we see it in writing: Jesus mourning for the people (Luke 19:41 & 13:34).
“God has allowed a few of us to survive as a remnant” (9:8) – thank you Lord! Thank you for your unfailing love and for your promise of never abandoning us. (9).
Now, to listen to the song! Yes, girls it’s been one fast week! A whirlwind of a week, I guess we could say! But, a rewarding, whirlwind of a week - in God’s precious Word. Thank you sisters for each of your posts! Daily, I’m continued to be blessed by each one of you here as we journey on, together!
Keeping my eyes on Him…expecting him to do amazing things among me today, & looking forward to celebrating His good deeds with those around me! Lori
PS Yay, Morgen, today, may that loaner equipment be easy to use and operate, - how fun for you to see Beth’s simulcast tomorrow!!!!
GP – thinking about you visiting your son at college – checking out his dorm and getting all the details organized. Enjoy your time with your boy’s.
And, Michelle ~ yippe for lauren’s new job! God’s ways are the b e s t !!!
Good morning GIGs,
Having a hard time posting as my computer is acting up..ISP problems I think as I am up and then down on internet.
Praying for you all.
Wendy you are in my prayers and I thank you for leading us in this study.
My heart ached for the women and children, victims of the men's sin, divorced and had to leave.
Reminded me of my life after divorce and being sole support of my 4 children. God provided for us through it all and His gracious hand was/is on me. Thank You, Lord.
Will get results of swallowing tests on Monday and know what can be done. Then go to Seth's for routine visit with dr. on Tuesday.
Been good being home these few days.
Rejoicing over Lauren's job, Michelle.
Jen Ren, smiled as I read about your fly. Pray your Dad gets the perfect car.
SAP for all of your requests and the children.
Dixie, thinking of you. Linda, too. Sarah begins radiation on 9/23 for six weeks.
Wendy, praying for you and yours. Thank you for teaching me so very much.
Blessing to each of you,
Teeny
Wendy- Praise God for your faithfulness to this group, your enthusiasm and your love of the word. You are a treasure! Praying for you and your son.
Michele-Congrats to your daughter on the job.
Praise- I was concerned about a church issue that I have been praying on for two months this morning the Lord gave me such peace, and guess where it was at, in Walmart. I took my husband car to get a oil change at 7am and I am praying as I am waiting for the car and HIS peace just quieted me about the issue and my crazy thoughts. Thank You Lord for your peace.
I am doing the 30day challenge also.I am expecting to see The Lord hand in these 30days. I rise every morning at 5am and have been for almost 8months now, by the Grace of God he gives me endurance and strength through out the day.
I Love You Lord.
Love, Debra
Hey GIGS, this one is too much fun not to share. First thing this morning I ventured out of my comfort zone at work to suggest to my boss that prayers were needed for a certain situation. Then I went off to second grade, where we have some mighty challenges. Not 20 minutes later my boss came into the 2nd grade classroom to show the kids an ENORMOUS Praying Mantis in a bug cage. It had just come right in through the window of my boss's office. One of our very challenging students, a big bug lover, got sooooo excited. We were able to use the Praying Mantis as a "carrot" all day long for him. (Such as "When you get this paper finished, you can go over and look at the Praying Mantis.") And believe me, we NEEDED that carrot with this student today. Then, at the end of the day, he got to release the Mantis back into the bushes. I sent up quite a few "thank yous" to the Lord over that one today! Isn't it amazing how he takes care of even the smallest details!
Have a blessed, 4:8 evening all.
Peace and Gratitude,
Michelle in New England
