Where has the time gone? Thirteen years ago today, 8:20am my answer to my prayer was born. Like Hannah, I prayed for a baby. For two years infertility plagued me. Basal body temperature charts, this treatment, and that test all to no avail. But God...in His sovereignty and perfect time brought my dream to pass. She has been a dream since the day she was born, well with the exception of the colicky crying nights but those were short lived. I thank the Lord for the sweet blessing He entrusted to me and Scott. We pray Lord, we are doing you proud.
Last weekend we worked in her room and this weekend we finish. Yes, she will have an official teenager's room, age and all. We will celebrate as a family at her favorite pizzeria followed by her favorite dessert, Triple Chocolate Meltdown Cake at Applebees. It will good in the neighborhood!

Michelle my tooth that needs a root canal is one of my top front teeth so I can't just have it pulled. Besides I've already had three teeth pulled on the top. The other top front tooth is infected so I'll have to get that taken care of. I already had a root canal done on that tooth. I keep saying that I should just get all my teeth pulled and get fake teeth.
I'm back to sharing an encouraging thought for the weekend.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it.
Happy Birthday to Blair! That cake sounds heavenly!! Wendy - would you post some pictures of the new room? I love seeing room makeovers... I'm praying for you all as a group this weekend. School has made me so busy that I haven't had a chance this week to keep up with comments. I am wrapped up in trying some big new things in my classroom. Jen Ren - good luck w/ the dentist. I've had a root canal too. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thank you, God, for novocaine! I hope you all have a great weekend. We are working in the yard and watching football this weekend.

Kate, I love that you are trying some "big new things" in your classroom. Sounds like you are on a mission from Himself [smile]. Here's a tip from one school person to another. I'm using ladies' room breaks this year as a quick SAP time, to ask Him for patience and the correct words of encouragement.

I'll be spending some time this weekend listening to Pastor Stanley's radio sermons from this week. He did a series on spiritual attacks and the Armor of God.
I haven't done the reading yet. If I have any good thoughts to post after I do, I'll be back.

Lord, for some reason, ‘at this appointed time’ a tumor on Denise’s bladder has been detected. You are not surprised about this. Thank you that this was found out. In your mercy, please hand pick the surgeon that you want to remove it. Arrange all of the details that need to be taken care of. Allow Denise to get through the surgery with no other complications. We pray that her tumor would also be removed with good margins, and that it, too would not be a cancerous growth. Lord, thank you for giving Denise, such a compassionate sister. I know, she has been appointed by you, for this period of time. May You be Michelle’s strength when she grows weary. May you give her words of encouragement for Jim. May your perfect will be done, and may your glory shine.

Gaylene, loved your thoughts a couple of days, ago: Re: the people being afraid of the local residents, and how am I handling myself with the ‘locals.’ Open praying, -I’m not so bold now, I’m not even comfortable praying aloud with people I know! But, God is showing me that the more I read His Bible, the more confident I get. I believe really, the more we read it, the more it’s in us, and gets to that point, that it has filled us up, and there is only one place to go ---out! Yes, sisters, out of our mouths! Sharing His love with those around us.

Good Morning to all!
Yes, it is Sept. 11th. I was in New York State on that day to celebrate my birthday which was the 7th. I was due to fly back to Florida on the 12th from an airport 32 miles from ground zero. I was heading down state on the 11th and planned to sleep in my rental car at the airport overnight to save a huge hotel bill. Instead I went to stay in Connecticut until I could get a train one and a half weeks later. Talk about returning to a sleepy little village on the Calosahatchee river - There is no place like home! I wrote a short story on my experiences but I have no web site to post it on.
Needless to say, an earth changing day for everyone all over the world. But I am glad that the Fl. pastor has decided not to burn the Qu'rans. As I have come to realize thru my recent readings, burning these holy books (to some)is not the answer. As I mentioned before, I think we should pray for and encourage the Christian believers in Muslim countries and show in any way possible that followers of Jesus Christ practice what they preach and pray - our God is a God of love and mercy and leave the final decision up to Him. And we should just keep on - keeping on.
Sometimes we are on the "back burner" for awhile as many of the prophets were, and sometimes we will be called on to come out of "retirement" as Daniel was up to the age of 85! And as Daniel was made aware, God IS there to save us from the mouths of lions and all other demons that seek to devour us. Yes, I will pray Daniel with all of you..........

Gigs I could use your continued prayers. Yesterday I had told you all about how I need a root canal and I said it would be a little over $1400 for the root canal, build up of the tooth, and crown. Last night it came to my mind that the receptionist at my dentist office said the root canal would be around $350 and I believe she meant that everything else, build up of tooth and crown, would be $1400. This means to have this work done I will be spending almost $1800. I'll call them back on Monday to double check on the amount. I don't think my dental insurance will cover any of it. This is only one of my teeth that need work. I had trouble sleeping last night because I started getting upset about this. It has made me go back and look at the unnecessary spending I did this year but I didn't expect this dental work that needs to be done. I will be able to slowly recover financially but it will take a while. In May I spent almost $1650 on two crowns. I think about what I could be doing with this money. I would love to fly out to Seattle, WA and visit my aunt and uncle or go somewhere and visit a friend. I don't remember going to the dentist that often as a teenager and I didn't go when I was in my twenties because I couldn't afford it so I guess I'm paying for it now and it makes me feel depressed and like crying.
Lord, please bring peace to my troubled heart about this situation.

I hear you on your dental problems. I just had an extraction, bone graft and something else two weeks ago and it cost $1,400. My insurance covered a portion of it, though. It needs a bridge because I can't stand the thought of a post in there. Anyway, I pray that God will make a way for you to pay for the needed procedures.

Thank you for sharing a part of your Sept 11 story to us. Maybe one day we can read the entire account of it. I remember that day, too. I was changing my younger son's diaper when I saw the plane hit those buildings. It was like watching a movie.
I will share more on the readings today (after I have done the reading). I know it's in Zechariah and I will share some of the notes from the Zechariah class I just finished.

Chuck's new job as a long-term sub English teacher is going splendidly! Lauren's job, which was to begin September 1, evaporated August 31 when the person who had agreed to be the supervisor of Lauren's "clinical fellow year" changed her mind! But, graciousness was displayed on both sides, and the organization recommended Lauren for a job elsewhere, for which she has a second interview on Monday morning! Thanks for asking!

The sermons I referenced are from September 6, 7, 8, 9,and 10. Another time, if you want to go to other months, simply choose them from where it says "Select Month" and "Select Year". It's an amazing treasury of wise teaching! I say a special prayer for Jessica in Ghana when I pray for our Childrens' List. How is she doing?

The thing that struck me most about today's reading is that they stopped. I just don't get it. They were building the Temple, and just a few days ago we read how they both laughed and cried because they were so happy to be doing that, and then, for some reason I don't understand, they stopped. They were doing the right thing and stopped. Why? Why do we slack? Why do we give up? Why do we stop? When God's directions are so clear and concise, why do we let our human fears and worries and feelings get in the way? I know that I do this ... God, please keep me moving in Your direction and don't ever let me stop doing what You want me to do.
In today's reading they are building the temple again. I would not hav wanted to go against King Darius' decree.
After missing church for seven Sundays I was really looking forward to going today. I woke up at 6 a.m. and decided to sleep for fifteen more minutes. The problem was that I turned off my alarm instead of hitting snooze. I fell asleep and woke up at 7 a.m. which was too late to go because my ride leaves between 7:15 and 7:30. We have an 8 a.m. service and many of our members go to that service and our 11:30 service. My pastor preaches two different messages. I called my ride and told her I will go to Bible study on Tuesday.
