"...a fountain to cleanse them from all their sins and impurity."
Zechariah 13:1b
My Take Aways
Something Old:
My cleansing foundation is Jesus Christ.
A fountain; for there is in them an exhaustible fullness. There is mercy enough in God, and merit enough in Christ, for the forgiving of the greatest sins and sinners. (Matthew Henry) This is me-
Something New:
Zechariah's prophecy of Jesus coming into Jerusalem, humbly on a donkey was new to me. I did not realize Zechariah had so many prophetic words.
Something to Do:
Thank God for His endless mercies and His sacrificial gift that cleansed me from my sin.

Whew! That was a powerful video and a beautiful song, Wendy. Thank you. There certainly was much in today's reading that hinted of the coming of the Savior. Just 11 days to the beginning of the New Testament. I can't wait!
Have a blessed, 4:8 Monday, all.
Peace and Gratitude,
Michelle in New England
I'll watch the song/video after some people wake up. I loved all the prophecy in today's reading! Some of it is scary - I've never heard of the 'living death' plague before - but most of it, while it sounds like it will look violent and totally change the world as we know it, means that Jesus has returned to take His throne and will be right here physically, with us! How cool!
All of these new ideas made me wonder, though. There will be no more prophets - I believe that there aren't any more, but do modern orthodox Jews have prophets? Are there people who randomly stand up and proclaim a message from God, and are they believed and encouraged? To what end?
Along similar lines, "on that day" everyone, both in Jerusalem and outside of it who survives the plague will travel to Jerusalem to worship God and celebrate the annual Festival of Shelters. If this Festival, which God declared should happen oh-so-long ago, is to happen to the very end of time, why don't we celebrate it today? And what is it again (I can never keep all of those festivals straight)? Wouldn't this be a great thing for our churches to do, at least sometimes? Confused about that ....
Gotta go get ready! Today will be a big day. Have a great Monday, everyone! Teeny, is today your traveling day? Have a safe trip!
Wendy,
Thank you for the beautiful song! We are reminded of our cleansing fountain and God's continued mercy on us!!
What a wonderful way to start the week!
Wendy Enjoy your getaway at the lake!!

Good Morning Bible Study Friends~Wendy, wow that is a video clip that will be in my mind today! Enjoy your girls get-a-way.
“I will bring that group through the fire
And make them ***pure.
I will refine them like silver
And purify them like gold.
They will call on my name,
And I will answer them.
I will say, ‘These are my people’
And they will say, ‘The LORD is our God’”
(Zech. 13:9).
“Blessed are the ***pure in heart, for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8).
No matter what He has to do to make us pure (trials, hardships, distress, tribulations) it is worth it, because, it is through these times, that we will “see God!” He will reveal Himself to us and we will know Him more! It gives us hope in our most difficult times!
In my Revelation Study, Beth Moore talked about Rev.1:7. This same event that is discussed today (Zech 14:3-9), is also found in - Daniel 7:13,14 & Matthew 24:27-31. Each passage shows/records new pieces of information on the same event. I love running across the same event in a different place in the Bible.
Thank you dear Lord, for forgiving my myriad of sins. Investigate me – and enlighten me, I know there’s more! I want to rid myself of anything that keeps me separated from your whispers. Thank you for your never-ending love. Today, I want to know you more. Reveal yourself to me through your word. I want a revelation from you. I love you with all of my heart.
Hugs, Lori
PS How could I forget my huge praise?
God turned the weakness in Kimi's left side into enough strength that she can go to school today! PTL for He acted quickly this weekend. Thank you so much for lifting up prayers up for her. She's a reading specialist and on Tues. is her Bible Study night. I pray that she is strong enough to go tomorrow night.
Love, Lori
Amy - the festival of shelters I believe was to celebrate and commemorate God providing shelter for the Isrealites as they wandered for those 40 years.
I sometimes wonder too if there are modern day prophets. Just think; if one came and spoke and acted like Jeremiah did we'd think he was a loon too! God's ways are so different than our human ways. We have to stay in His Word and use that as our measure of truth.
I too was amazed at all of the prophecy foretold in Zechariah.
Happy Monday all!
Morgen
Wendy...such a beautiful song and the film clips (From The Passion?)
Have a fun day...
My 2 fav verses from today
Zech 14:9 And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one LORD--his name will be worshiped
Zech 13:1 A fountain to cleanse them from all their sins and impurity.
To Do: Spend the day thanking God for His son and taking away the sins of the world...
Blessings, Sue
Wendy,
I keep thinking about what you said: “inexhaustible fullness”
I was reminded - yesterday morning when I was having my quiet time with the Lord, He opened up the very same word to me: “fullness”
I was struck by a phrase in Rev. 1:4 – “and from the seven spirits before his throne”
“7” means completeness & FULLNESS!
Fullness of God’s power through His Spirit (NIV study notes -Zech. 4: 2)
Then, what really hit me were my study notes on Zech. 4:10 – “but God was in the rebuilding program and, by his Spirit (v.6), would enable Zerubbabel to FINISH it.
He finished (completed it) HOW COULD A MAN, LIKE US…do such an impossible thing? By the fullness, - the inexhaustible Spirit guiding him to do it, as the Spirit in him guided him along! Wow, that really speaks to me!
7 eyes = Spirit – completes – fullness
This powerful Spirit is inside us, - directing our steps! This was so powerful to me.
God’s Spirit, symbolized through the 7 eyes, roaming the earth- seeing everything – knowing everything. Counseling us & directing our ways. Oh my goodness girls –this brings me goosebumps, again today, as I hear you open up the word fullness, Wendy!
God’s Word is beyond our imagination, but, He revealed it to Jesus Christ. Jesus came as a man and walked besides us, he knows how to explain it to us, so that we get it! He is counseling us and guiding us according to His Father’s will for us. Oh, God’s Word is powerful, truly alive, and through Jesus Christ, it is ACTIVE in us, girls’! Lord, reveal your Word to each one of us today!
Delighting in His precious, living Word, Lori
Thanks, everyone, for the information about Zechariah! As usual, G&P, I'm going to print and save it.
Morgen, I remember reading in a study of Hebrews last year that there are no more prophets because Jesus is our High Priest and we have the Holy Spirit so we no longer need a middle man to get messages back and forth. It just makes me wonder, since the Jewish people don't believe that yet, how they feel about prophets...?
Can I put a prayer request out there? As of five minutes ago, I'm now babyless. Brayden's mommy was upset about his sleeping schedule and left work in the middle of the day to come take him, so I'm now suddenly and currently unemployed. Please pray that God would show me what He wants me to do and how to manage in the meantime. Thanks so much.
Hi gals,
Just wanted to share - my beautiful baby boy took his first steps today. I am so proud I could bust! What an awesome day!
Have a great one,
Jodie from Ottawa
Wendy, loved the song and video from The Passion. That movie stirs so many emotions. I agree with your new--all of the prophecy in Zech. It really reminded me of Isaiah also. It's amazing how these prophecies show up in so many places.
In Zech. 14: 9," And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one LORD--his name alone will be worshiped." That scripture reminds me of ..."every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD."
Goodnight, GIGS! Wendy, hope y'all had fun at Lake Norman. My cousin lives on the lake, and it's simply beautiful!
Hugs!
Susan
Amy--that is hard to believe! We know there must be a plan somewhere in that. I will definitely pray for you.
I had some of the same thoughts as you with the Jews and with the Festival of Shelters.
I love watching any part of the passion movies--you really appreciate what Jesus did for us.
Congrats Jodie on those first steps! Now look out! Life is never the same once they are mobile!
Welcome back Jacque.
I am loving my new job at the school. Life is busy but good. So far, I have been able to keep up with you all! You really feed my spirit and I pray for all of you.

Sweet Wendy~ Thank you for your post –even when you’re feeling under the weather, you’re still bubbly! What a role-model you are to the rest of us!
“If you keep quiet at a time like this…Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this” ((Esther 343:14)?
Can we believe God, when we can’t see Him? The more we anticipate and look for Him, the more we realize how He is Sovereign. He is working even when we do not see Him.
There have been many opportunities I have passed up, because of His voice – “this my daughter is what I have called you to do, right now, ‘for such a time is this.’ And, I will say, before I was in His Word daily, my thoughts were bitter at times. Now, He’s teaching me to walk in love as I serve the elderly in my family. He’s also teaching me how to love relatives from my heart, from inside, not just outwardly. He’s giving me His eyes to view them!
Day 5 praying –am I right on the day? Dear Lord, thank you for the privilege you give us; the privilege to converse with you intimately, through praying. As I pray today, may Your Spirit guide me, and give me words to say, that come from your heart. Amen.
Ladies ~ enjoy His glory all around you today! Anticipate it.
Love, Lori
PS Amy, I believe Brayden left because God has something else in mind for you! Lord, I know you are working on this situation right now, guide Amy, and give her peace as she turns this trial over to you. Allow her special moments with Luke in the meantime. Supply and provide for the needs of this family. Thank you that you are with them and will not leave them. Amen.
Jodie, thinking of little Elliot walking-I bet his arms are straight out like an airplane! So cute, as they are learning and using their little arms to keep them balanced. Aahhh, enjoy these fun times!
