Well, girls I added some spice to my life this week. My week started by doing something that I have never done, yes never done. I went to a see a non-animated movie with a friend . Seeing the non-antimated movie was not the "never done before" thing. I went to the movie on the spur of the moment. Can you believe that? I was wearing my "softs" (Lounging around sweats) when my smart college friend (The one who answered our lipstick question) stopped by and asked me to go the movie with her.
Honestly, it was a hard to decision for me to make. Spur of the moment decisions are very much out of my comfort zone. After talking to my husband about the decision, I spoke with my daughter who told me to go because "I don't get to do things like this very often." So on the wise counsel of my 10-year, I threw caution to wind, put my cool sneakers on and went to the movie.
I really had fun! I decided that it would be good for me to do this more often. I think I will plan another spur of the moment something or other again real soon.

My spur of the moment thing?
I took my children to Sonic after school. This may not sound like a big deal, but it was 20+ minutes out of the way. Slushes were enjoyed by all!

My spurs tend to be of the shopping kind - most of the time its ok, but admittedly some of the time its soooo not. It's the little things, you know? I made the mistake of first opening up my bank acct this morning before opening up God's Word. Yikes! I was overdrawn! Had did this happen, I've been keeping copious records and trying to make my main Man and my husband man proud of me. Didn't happen. I am so mad at myself - it was such a silly thing like an almost $50 tank of gas that I forgot to enter. Oh the gas prices (not that they're at fault here), but really!?! If it would not be deadly dangerous for me to don the bike shorts and other bike riding apparel - I would be so out of breath and exhausted just getting the clothes on I would kill over - I would try to ride a bike instead of driving. That's not even taking into account the children growing larger by the minute that I would have to transport on my back or shoulders!!
Anyway, I asked the Lord to forgive my oversight and my husband too. Now I'm working on forgiving myself. Typing this admission might be helping. I know you know how I feel girlfriend. I guess leaving you a quick blognote was spur of the moment, uh? OK, I'm a sad, sad little woman! ;0) Love you, Dawn
I think if you plan a spur of the moment, it's not so spur of the moment. Just sayin...I spent the afternoon chatting with a friend! So nice and refreshing!!
Last week it snowed here, but we didn't get much in our yard (we never do). I heard Wednesday morning that it had snowed a lot about 20 minutes up the road in the mountains, so I randomly dressed up the boys "A Christmas Story"-style and took them to a public scenic stop to play. It certainly wasn't "in the plans", but we really had a fun time and I'm glad we did it!
Nothing spur of the moment that I can think of... I'm like you, it's out of my comfort zone. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog! Thanks for the smile today! God bless.
