I can't tell you how honored I am to be journeying with you. I am so glad I said yes to God. It's funny, I thought I would be the "teacher" and God has reminded me time and time again that I am a student. And truly, a student is what I always want to be. There is so much to learn. I love Him so much, our Rabboni. (Hebrew for teacher)

Well, Wendy I think maybe you are both the teacher and student... I have learned some much going on this journey with you. I have read the New Testament before but each time I attempt to read the Old Testament I put it down thinking those people are crazy your blog has really helped me understand and enjoy and look forward to reading the Old Testament!

I remember Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa said that what he prays for himself is "Please always give me a teachable heart". I remember that every day of my life and pray the same thing. Chuck is a great Bible teacher, and yet he wants to be a student, too.

In my mind we all have something to learn and something to teach. To be only one or the other would take us out of the loop..teacher/student, Timothy/Paul, seeker/guide...we are called so we may be equipped so that we may equip others...it's a beautiful and hopefully neverending thing!
I enjoyed our walk with Job. I think today's reading was a wonderful way to end up the month - we began January reading about God's glorious Creation and ended with the sheer thunder of God's glory and the sweetness of his forgiveness & restoration. Amen to that!

I was reading in one of my daily devotionals this morning and it was talking about how we always crave change as the new year begins. I don't know how many times I've wanted to read through the Bible, but loose interest before the month of Jan. is even over with! Today is February and I'm still at it! Praise God! It's been wonderful to me to know that I am not left alone to carry out this commitment to change and to grow spiritually. I resign my will every day to be more like my Savior!

Moses pleaded and protested with God, but God stayed calm for a long time. Finally God became angry. I know I get angry arguing with my own children alot faster than God did with Moses. He is a patient God. Yet, He did get angry and that tells me that there is a place for anger. My goal is for my anger to not make me ugly; a sinner. Please God, give me righteous anger.
How often do we protest and plead with God? Just like a little kid. God said, "NOW go" but Moses kept lingering and arguing. Sounds familiar. We need good reasons and to build up our courage instead of just trusting what God says and jumping to it. Look what God did with Moses. He can use us too!

I love the story of Moses. I really noticed all the special protection God gave to Moses early in his life. Moses really should not have even lived to lead the Israelites. There was so much against him.
Knowing this about Moses gives me hope that God is protecting all of us, in order to use us for His purpose and glory,too.
In the same way, how many of us should not have even made it this far in reading the Bible due to all the interuptions that life brings. Yet God, in all his love and compassion, protects us and just enough of our time so that we too, may be used for His glory and purpose!

I love stories of signs and wonders! The ordinary, submitted to God, becomes extraordinary. We - the ordinary - can be molded and used in the hands of the Master just as God used Moses and his staff!

Glad to see someone else up in the middle of the night delving into God's word! I am always encouraged by all of your responses and as I go back and reread I am so blessed by the Holy Spirit giving me fresh revelation of the Word. I think I will reread Job 35-37 many times this year as it spoke to me about pride in my "good deeds" and realizing the faith-building aspect of suffering, as well as an awesome summation of God's greatness, power and orderly control of the universe!
