Oh, Lord, as we soak in Your Word, this day and every day, speak to our hearts, open our eyes to Your ways and Your truth in our lives! Good Morning Lovely Ladies!
Praying many times happens when we have a request of God. We want something from Him. Before I read the Bible daily, my prayers, short as they were, were all about me, and my needs! David shows us today that our prayer time should be a time when we praise our Father, and when we thank Him.
Today, we get to read one of one of the most uplifting prayers in the Scriptures. The way David models prayer to us is how I have practiced my praying this year:
1. offering praises and blessing God
2.Thanking God
3.Seeking Him to reveal the sin on my heart. To investigate me.
4.lifting up to Him my requests
5.Praising Him some more!
Seems to me, the more I praise Him and thank Him throughout the day, the less I have time to focus on me. More and more, it’s about Him, wanting to know Him, - everything. All the secrets. All the golden nuggets. Oh, sisters, He has so much to reveal to us.
Everyday, under every circumstance, in everything give thanks (I Thes. 5:18). When we complain about our daily happenings, what we are really doing is telling God that we are not happy. We are questioning His wisdom and His love for us.
To Do: It is very easy for me to praise the Lord, when everything is fine and dandy! But, aahh, how about when things are not quite so wonderful? Help me today, dear Lord, to know that in all things You are Sovereign. That everything happens according to your perfect plan for me. That you are all I need. That you are with me at all times. That there is never a reason for me to be worried or fearful. Thank you for these promises.
What a wonderful assignment that you've given us Mrs. Wordnerd - I will enjoy doing that - since I'm a bit of a word-nerd myself! smile! Will pop back in later on.

Praise, Honor, & Glory to You Lord always & forever! How great You are. How powerful & justice are Your ways. Everything I have from the love of family to the shoes on my feet come from You. Thank You for all, for all is from You! Lord look into my heart, look at my mind, look onto my spirit, may You find them in order! May my intentions, thoughts, & prayers be in a line with Your will & ways! May I praise You in the morning, sing of Your deeds all day long, give you glory in the evening. Lord give a willing heart to all who seek You! Give a thirst for knowledge. A desire to be at one with You. Lord if it is in your will give these to Ricky & Laurie. Oh I love your challenge today..especially since it is our "fast and pray day" over on Brandee's blog. The posts here will be such a great addition to our day.
"Word Nerd"...that is great and I laughed too when I read that yesterday. If someone would have called you that in high school you might have been offended; but now as a mature adult you love it. That is grace in the Lord.

"O Lord, we cannot praise You enough! You are the Lord of all and owner of everything. Everything we receive, everything we share is Yours already. Thank you Lord for bestowing on us gifts from your overflowing treasury room. We cannot thank you enough...yet you accept our little old praises and thankyous, and you flood us with more of your goodness.
Give us hearts of integrity Lord and take away our pride. May our hearts be filled with only the purity of You and Your love. We cannot wait to see You face to face and to praise you continually in Heaven...on our knees with our hands held high in glorious hallelujahs and singing praises in unison with a great chorus. Even the very breath that I breathe is from God. You see, I am living my "extended life." After surgery, 9 years ago, I stopped breathing back in my room. Had my husband not come in and noticed, I would be in glory now. I thank God daily for this privilege of serving Him all these years. What a blessing. We have 5 grandchildren that I have been allowed to enjoy, too.
May I always obey Jesus and my love for Him never change.

I thought it odd, too, that David never disciplined this son, and that it was connected Biblically that he was handsome. May we not make judgements on what we see on the exteriour but base our decisions regarding our children on the heart!

Hi Girl's...Wendy, this assignment brought me closer to God this morning. Thank you again!
Change. Yes, dear Lord, my desire is that you bend down and change both of my son’s hearts. I do not want them compromising any piece of their heart. I want each of them to have a heart that totally belongs to you, You alone. Every slice of it. Currently, Lord, only a piece of their heart belongs to you. The world tugs at them and their eyes are influenced by their environment. Oh, that a turn-around could happen with them. I, so long for them to crave You. As each day passes, may they truly want to know you more. May they find that true satisfaction comes only from abiding in You. May they learn to request this of you daily: “That I may know you more today, dear Father.” May they truly desire to read Your Word every single day. May you pursue them to the point that they yearn to study your Word. That they would wake up, immediately pursing You. Daily, that they would aspire to seek Your presence throughout their day. That, intimately they would chat with you all day long. And, by night-time, they would go to bed with you on their mind, thanking you for the day you allowed them to have.
Thank you dear Lord, for my two precious sons that you placed in my womb so many, many years ago. Thank you that they are saved, and that Jesus lives in their heart. Thank you for the Holy Spirit that will never go away. Lord, you have blessed them, and never left them. You’ve placed the desire in my heart to pray over them. Thank you for this. There is nothing I’d like more for them, than for each of them to know and want my strong faith, and daily to live to further your kingdom. In your precious name I pray, dear Jesus. Amen.

O Lord, our greatest desire is to do Your will. You gave us a sacred duty to raise our children in your way. There is no higher honor than to have them walking with you, Lord. It is very difficult to raise godly children in today's world. It seems like right is wrong and wrong is right. Just like David prayed, I ask that you give them the courage to stand for You, to want to do Your will. If they stray I pray that You bring them back to the fold. Please do not let go! May their lives honor You, Father.
In the same breath, I ask for wisdom for me and my husband as parents to learn to discipline with mercy. Please have us walk in harmony. May you bless our marriage so it will be a safe haven for our children. May they look to us as an extension of your love, mercy and grace.
Thank you, Father for giving us our families, friends and resources. We are mere stewards of everything you have given us. Help us to focus on what has eternal significance. May we keep our eyes on Your kingdom, Lord.

Hi Everybody….
“Wendy-Wordnerd”, I love this. You put me to the challenge this morning I did some dissecting on my faith….“This is something I really struggle with”. I do not have much. It is not something I am very proud of. I really am trying to work on this area in my life. I listen to and read your volg early this morning….after my prayer time. Got our sons off to school and …. than I will usually go for my walk…..For the past 5 or 6 years now our home town hospital puts on a 5K walk/run, to help them raise money. (I have been doing this each year……. challenged by my sisters). I’m normally not a runner I enjoy walking so much more. But in “dissecting” (My faith) running really puts my faith to the challenge. Do I depend on Him or do I Let Satan tell me no I can’t. Do I believe I can do this? This morning when running (always) about after I get into about the 1 mile mark. My strength is done….he whispered to Me this morning….“dissect your faith”. I told Him this morning when running okay Lord show me your strength this last mile and a half is yours. He said to Me No….“It is yours!” Do you have Faith in me. “Be strong and courageous”. I also read Tracie Miles blog this morning she has a great one….she has been a blessing to me in more ways than one. I was dissecting it to while running this morning. I ran the whole 3 miles and continued on running for 35 minutes. “Faith”…..Thank You Lord ….please stick with me on Faith. This area I am always weak. Amen.

As my words hung in the air, I felt like God poked my heart. How many times has my Father told me to listen to Him, and I did not? How many times have I felt my Father calling me to do something, but I questioned His will? How many times have I tried to convince God why I did not like His plan? How many times have I known that I understood what God was calling me to do, but I decided that my plan would be easier or better?

My oldest the one I talked about was always interested in doing for the church too he couldn't wait to alter-serve. He was tiny at the time and looked really small to the others but this Mom was really proud of Him. He now Lectors. (reads one of the readings).

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing the beautiful prayer for the various spirits. My DS2 is 9 (but only for 5 more days). He keeps reminding me his birthday is coming up. My baby is going double digits now. My older one is 18. Big gap, eh? We thought we were done. But God had other plans. :D My older one was saved at age 13. I came to know the saving grace of Jesus late in life (think 40 years in the wilderness). I mean, I knew OF Him but did not know Him. So my older son (and I!) did not have the biblical training that the younger one has. Me, I'm just making up for lost time.

Grace and Peace...I know what you mean about God's other plans. We didn't have children until I was 29. We wanted them sooner. But like you said God had other plans. I came to know him at a later age also....during one of my hardest trials(My exile years).....yes I knew Him but not the personnal one I have today. This heart needed a big change. Those trial I am thankful today for. It is how I truly came to know Him. Today I do have understanding of some of my "Why's" I had back then. (Wisdom as one gets older....so true).

Hi Ladies, it's Jen from Boston. Thank you again for all your posts and comments, I thoroughly enjoy them and keep you all and your families in my prayers.
I have two prayer requests today, one if for my friend's father in law, he was diagnosed with brain cancer back in December and is not doing too well. The family is really struggling because they don't understand why this is happening to such a good guy. They believe in God although I am not sure how strong their faith is. So I pray for this man, his name is Tom, for him to be comfortable and find some peace and for the people caring for him and for his family struggling to understand and cope with it all and that they turn to God with their pain and confusion. And also that I keep myself attune to speaking God’s word to them at the right times.
My second prayer request is that I am going to Haiti in about a week, May 15th. I have been before when I was in college and since the earthquake has destroyed so much I felt the nudge (by God) to go back. I am really looking forward to this trip. This is the website of the organization in Haiti that I have close ties with if any of you are interested in seeing where I am going: http://heartswithhaiti.org/. I pray that God uses my gifts while I am there so I can shine his light in Haiti. (I am a few days behind on reading and the blog entry on ‘Taking Our Places of Service’ reminded me that myself and Haiti need your prayers.) I am open to whatever God needs from me while I’m there and when I get home. I pray my eyes and ears are open to hear and see the work he wants me to do.

Hi Wendy and all the rest of you wonderful sisters out there. I know that I hit and miss coming to read your blog and video for the day so often, but I have been reading and trying to keep up with the daily Bible reading before leaving for work each morning. It was such a blessing to read today's scripture reading and David's prayer especially got to me. Now after listening to the video, I have been even more blessed. God truly has gifted you Wendy with insight and the words (I'm glad you are a word-nerd!) to give us as we read together. You always bring up points that I haven't thought of in that way. Thank you!
This verse especially stuck out to me today: 1 Chron. 29:12b
"Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength."
Who are we to think that we can draw strength and power all on our own? It is only from our Heavenly Father...and yet it is easy to get caught up in this world with needing to feel important by the world's standards. I guess that is an area that God has been teaching me about myself. To look at my motives behind all that I do and remove any of my own desires to do it to feel important. As a little girl in a very dysfunctional family, I guess I craved for someone to pay attention to me and validate who I was and unknowingly have carried some of that on over into adulthood. But praise my Lord and Savior for continuing to change me into looking and being more like him.

I love you so much! You alone have been my closest friend, my Rock and my Redeemer. You know me better than anyone else and I praise you Father for being the hand that continues to grab mine and lead me down your path that is best for me. You alone are the one that I want to hear and follow and continue to learn from. Continue to mold me and make me into a vessel that is fit for you my King and use me to bring honor and glory to you through a sincere heart that loves you. Please use me to help someone else.
