I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and is able to spend it with someone they love. Spending time with Jesus, the Lover of your soul is a great place to start.
I am dining out with my man at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I can't wait to sip on a cold Dr. Pepper from the fountain and eat hot salsa and chips. My kids are being entertained by our great friend and adopted family member Erin Grey.

Happy Valentines Day ladies! May the love of our Lord hold you close today. As I read over our verses for today there was one thing in particular that stood out like a sore thumb for me. Did anyone else notice how many times the words "Just as the Lord commanded" showed up in the reading? And then the very last set of words we read "and they did just as the Lord told them"
I get it, Lord. Thank you so much for the reminder. Although it is impossible to be perfect I know there are things I have been putting before you. You too have given me some commandments that I have overlooked during the busyness of my week. For instance:
"Be still and know that I am God"
"Love one another as Christ loved the church"
Come to me all who are heavy laden and I will give you rest"
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"
Thank you Lord for your love letter to me today- you are definately the best Valentine a gal could have. Although Hubby comes in a close second-lol.
Thank you Wendy for pulling this together and all your hard work and thanks for everyone posts -they really help me look further into what I am reading. I pray all of you have a wonderful Valentines Day!

Julie, that's exactly what I posted about today on "Pondering In His Presence" - "just as the LORD commanded". I counted it eleven times!
I wanted to also thank everyone for their prayers. How your comments here and messages touched my heart throughout the day. Wendy, sounds like you will have a great day. If my husband pulls through :o) we should be watching "FireProof" tonight. Can't wait!!! I have a lovely roast beef dinner planned, Valentine cake is made and jelly salad is already setting in the fridge.

What thrilling reading this morning as Exodus ends with the Tabernacle completion. "Moses proceeded to do everything just as the LORD had commanded him." Moses understood the supreme importance of obedience to the will of God. Nothing was left to either Moses' or the worshipers' opinions. I pray that I too can listen for God's voice in everything I do. What a blessed hope we have to look forward for the glorious appearing of our LORD!!!

Happy Valentine's Day sweet blog friends. Sorry, I have been absent. I want to also tell Joy how sorry I am for your recent loss. No matter what the circumstance, loss is always difficult.
As I have been reading the last few days about the making of the Ark of the Covenant, something stood out to me repeatedly. The gold, silver, bronze, and materials used all had to come from what the Israelites collected from the Egyptians before they left Egypt.
As I read this, I could not get over the fact that God made something so glorious and beautiful from such a torturous time of captivity.
Yet, isn't this exactly what God does with us? He carries us through our times of captivity and makes something in us that in the end glorifies and honors Him. What an amazing God he is. Nothing surprises Him. Just as He showed with the Israelites, it was in His plan the entire time.

Good morning all! In today's reading I noticed the absolute consistency of the gifts each tribe offered. Not one varied from another. Was this to show that each was equal in God's eyes? I love God's detail. Also, in counting the tribes (2 being from Joseph's 2 sons) I noticed Levi was missing...but his tribe makes up the priests, right? So they do the tabernacle work? Do I have that correct?
Happy Sunday!...I'm teaching my Sunday School kids today about listening to and hearing from God. Something I need more work on too.

Reading through Numbers 7 today shows us how God clearly pays attention to our individual offerings. The repetition of each sacrifice made makes me think that God is always observant of the gifts presented to Him. "Offering" was mentioned more than 60 times in this one chapter! Our tithes and offerings are very important to God.
Today we enjoyed the best sermon on prayer. We saw what the book of James has to say about prayer. Stormie Omartian is visiting our church next weekend speaking at our annual prayer conference. I eagerly anticipate this event! :)
