Before you get lost in the rituals of the Israelites remember what we learned from yesterday's post, the curtain was torn. We have access to the Holy of Holies where the Holy Spirit dwelled. There is no need for us to sacrifice animals in atonement for our sin. Our sacrificial Lamb was Jesus. His shed blood covers all our sin: past, present and future. But where is the temple now? Where does the Holy Spirit dwell today?
Because of the new covenant, the death of Jesus, we no longer are required to make animal sacrifices but we are called to make a sacrifice to Jesus.
Did you notice the words "pleasing to God?" The LORD used these same words in Exodus when He talked about the different types of offering: burnt, peace, thanksgiving, and fragrant. Death is no longer needed. Our lives, our bodies, our total beings are to be offered as a living sacrifices the Lord.
Here is our question for the day: Is the sacrifice I make of my life pleasing to the Lord?
Listen and prayerfully consider your answer.
Do you now know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? I Corinthians 6:19
Because of the new covenant, the death of Jesus, we no longer are required to make animal sacrifices but we are called to make a sacrifice to Jesus.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1

Oh how I pray that my life is an offering to the Lord and that with me He is well pleased. Beautiful writing and reminder today Wendy.
I wrote today on "A Sabbath Rest". Praying for that rest today as I leave now to accompany my 83 year old Dad to the hospital for surgery. Trusting in the Lord to give that peace that passes understanding.
May my life today be a living sacrifice,
Joy
Good morning ladies,
It is going to be almost 70 again today. Joy I will keep you in my prayers. As I am on my second cup of coffee and watched this video I was so moved. Today I have two doctors appointments. I have gotten to the point I get grumpy when I have to spend my days like this. but I want to think on your question and return later. Have a good day.
Diane
I'm still here I got a little behind. I will try to write more later but wanted to say thank you for the thoughts to ponder. I have been striving to treat my body better for the last 5 months however this kicks it up another notch. Thanks.
Lynn
PS. Joy praying for you and your Father, Diane that your appoints go well.
I am home from work today because of a doctor appointment. I am sitting here in my living room, just watched/listened to the video and am now sitting here crying - thinking of His ultimate sacrifice. God is showing me ways that I have not been showing my life as a sacrifice to Him and the biggest is time. Lord, forgive me and help me to live a life that is pleasing to you.
Thank you for giving us things to ponder, Wendy!
Oh, how I do want to please the LORD today! How can I sacrifice myself today, to please you, LORD?
Help me to not be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. What is Your will for me today? Allow me to put other peoples needs before my own. Help me sacrifice myself to give to those around me today.
Clinging to Jesus today!

Thank you for this post. My sacrifice is not enough. I pray that it will be in the future. I am working daily toward a deeper relationship with Christ, and I hope through that my sacrifice will become pleasing.
Amazing Grace, such undeserved favor of our Lord!
Before I comment on today’s reading I want to share how God ministered to me this morning from yesterday’s reading. Standing in the mirror, putting on makeup, God sweetly reminded me of the specific details of the Ark of the Covenant. He instructed Moses to use the best of wood, gold, cloth and etc. for his dwelling place. These things did not have a choice in the matter, oak wood was not competing with the acacia wood, silver was no competing with gold; God knew exactly how he wanted his dwelling place to be.
Then he said, as beautiful and magnificent as the ark was, my choice is to live in my people. Broken vessels of clay in every race, creed and nation. Even though, they continue to try to alter the way I made them, I made them exactly the way I wanted them. The ark was a beautiful piece of work, but it couldn’t have relationship with me. It did not choose to be mine. It could not thank me for choosing to dwell within its wall. But my people……..every time they choose to honor me, love me, praise me and spend time with me, I cherish those moments. I long to be with my people in an intimate way everyday; I chose you and you in return, did not reject me, but you surrendered your life to me.
Woohoo…….I just wanted to stand still and enjoy God’s presence. I am reminded of the Psalm 51:16-17
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
In today’s lesson we are now “God’s special gift” presented to him daily, as we walk out our faith.
Grateful!!!!

AMEN Debbie.
Thanks you. I love the words the Lord shared with you, then you shared them with us.
I love our sisterhood!
I have thought about this today and for me it is a day to day check up. There are days that I think I am not doing anything to please the Lord. Then there are days I am walking on clouds, because I feel I am so in the will of God. But most days it is just trying to do the next right thing.
Until I was assaulted 7 years ago my life was about my job, my family and other people. It has been a long and painful journey but one that I would not trade for any thing in the world.
If I may share a blessing to show you what I mean. As a chef I miss the challenge of cooking for a 5 star hotel and sharing my knowledge with younger chefs. It has been hard during times that I have had to be in a wheelchair. But God has used those times to make my life so pleasing to him. Let me explain.
Since then I have been able to teach a cooking class to people who are in wheelchairs. I have the perspective of a chef, but the understanding of being in a wheelchair.
I am working with people who need help setting up their kitchens to meet their needs. I am working on my second cookbook that is geared to people with disabilities.
My point is that I have a renewed love for what I do and how I do it. God has truly brought my speaking and cooking together.
I am so glad that you asked this question today and that I had the chance to think about it.
Thank you,
Diane

Trying to do the next right thing is how we all live.
God tells us to live one day at time. The manna was only for one day. Anything more than that started to rot and stunk up the place.
Let's all enjoy our daily bread/manna.
Hi everyone!
I have gotten behind as I am writing this on February 12th and this is the post from the 10th, but I can feel God speaking to me through His Word! I am so blessed that I can share this experience with all of you!
Happy Thursday!
Lara
